POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES Adjetivos Posesivos
Una forma de expresar la posesin es utilizando los adjetivos posesivos. Estos deben ir delante de un
sustantivo.
SUBJECT PRONOUNS POSSESSIVE ADJECTIVES
I My (mi)
You Your (tu)
He His(su, de un hombre)
She Her (su, de una mujer)
It Its (su, de una animal o cosa)
We Our (nuestro)
You Your (de ustedes)
They Their (su, de varias personas)

IN LAW:

Para decir que alguien es familia porque tiene un parentesco con su pareja se usa sufijo in law.
Mother-in-law = Suegra Sister-in- law= Cuada Brother-in-law =Cuado

STEP:

Para hablar de los integrantes de la familia o vnculos adoptivos anteponemos la palabra step.
Step father = Padrastro Step family= Familia adoptiva Step mother: Madrastra

CASO GENITIVO O POSESIVO






Este recurso gramatical es de gran utilidad dentro del idioma ingls dado que trata de una manera
abreviada de expresar posesin, es decir, indicar a quien le pertenece algo. Se constituye de
acuerdo a la siguiente estructura:

Examples:
Petersroom (la pieza de Peter)
Sallystoys (Los juguetes de Sally)
Existen algunas reglas para establecer la forma posesiva de un sustantivo como veremos a continuacin:
Normalmente agregamos s a los sustantivos singulares.
Jennifersdress (El vestido de Jennifer)
The studentsbook (el libro del estudiante)
Cuando un sustantivo singular termina con la letra S solo agregamos el apostrofe ()

Sophocles play (la obra de Sophocles)
Carlos car (El auto de Carlos)
Para sustantivos plurales agregamos solo el apostrofe ()
My friendshouse (la casa de mis amigos)

que se est haciendo referencia.
