Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Creflo Dollar
The enemy often approaches us with deceitful strategies hidden behind every day
challenges. Many times when we are dealing with difficult people and situations in our
lives, we immediately believe we are simply struggling with the obstacles before us.
However, we should be aware of the unseen spiritual attack in the supernatural
realm. For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood[contending only with physical
opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits
who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of
wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere (Ephesians 6:12, AMP).

Spiritual warfare is not simply dealing with challenges we see in the physical realm. Its
about maintaining our victory against wicked spiritual forces no matter what we see. In
other words, Jesus has ultimately won the war against the kingdom of darkness by
sacrificing His life for us. However, although the war has been won, Satan still attacks
us because of our identity in Christ. We do not have to lose these individual battles
against the enemy. We have right-standing with God, and we are fighting fromvictory,
not for victory. We have already won! Now all we have to do is stand steadfast in our
victoryin all that Jesus has died for us to have.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh
about, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). According to this scripture, the
devil cannot devour just anyone. He cannot devour those who are truly remaining
steadfast in Jesus Christ for it is only through Him that we have the victory. However,
he can devour someone who has gone back to relying on his or her own strength.

In spiritual warfare, we cannot rely on our own human abilities. When we trust our own
strength, we are no longer trusting in the finished works of Jesus, which include our
salvation, deliverance, prosperity, healing, and preservation. We draw our strength
from Him. Ephesians 6:10 in the Amplified Biblestates, In conclusion, be strong in the
Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that
strength which His boundless might provides].

The most important thing we can remember during spiritual warfare is the promises of
God. One of the ways we can remain steadfast on the promises of God is by speaking
what we believe. Also, we have to see ourselves the way Jesus sees us, not by our own
estimation. We have to look beyond ourselves, and focus on the Word of God. We need
to learn how to speak those promises even before we see them in the physical realm.
Thats how we win in spiritual warfare.
