Profile

Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering having more than 10 years research and industrial experience in
Process Management, Project – Engineering and Production in Pharmaceutical and Chemical
Industry. The research experience includes postdoctoral studies in US in the field of chemical and
biochemical engineering, process development of APIs and intermediates, separation technologies
such as membrane processes, reactive distillation, liquid-liquid separation also extensively studies in
waste water management in CPI for its reuse and recycle.
Currently associated with 3A Chemie Pvt Ltd, the company is in the business of pharmaceutical API
and its intermediate and also offers Engineering and Technology services in the field of Industrial and
specialty chemicals. In present capacity I have been responsible for providing leadership to various
functions like manufacturing, quality, EHS, R&D, budget, sourcing, stores, statutory compliances,
liasoning, recruitment and also responsible for business development and project engineering
division.

• Successfully developed and implement commercial Technology for 2-ethyl hexyl nitrate (2-EHN)
as a cetane improver and mono-methyl nitrate solution (MMN) plant in India, both plants were
first in Asia.

turn-key basis. It including development of basic engineering packaged, P&ID, Plat layout,
Instrumentation and control system, fabrication of equipment, erectioning and commissioning
the plant

Research area: Reactive Separation Process
• Worked on the development of a separation process to recover polymer grade propylene glycol
(1,2-propanediol) and byproduct ethylene glycol produced from a bio-based route of sugar alcohol
hydrogenolysis by reactive distillation. The process has been investigated at bench and pilot scale
reactive distillation column and simulated using process simulation software such as Aspen Plus
and, CHEMCAD. The economic evaluation of process was also studied using CHEMCAD and
evaluate the feasibility of this novel process. The work resulted in US patent Application.

• Integrated processes, combined with membrane separation, sonication and wet oxidation were
developed and demonstrated to treat reactive and disperse dye bath wastewater for reuse and
discharge.
• Non catalytic and catalytic wet oxidation process developed to treat the refractory dye bath
auxiliary compounds such as, sodium salt of dodecyl benzene sulfonate
• Pretreatment method developed to reduce the load of COD and suspended matter in molasses
based distilleries waste water after biogas generation so that to treat further by
membrane/adsorption process.

Research area: Recovery of sulfur from H2S bearing waste gas.
• A biological process was developed for the recovery of sulfur from hydrogen sulfide bearing gas in
which absorption of gas takes place in an aqueous ferric sulfate to get elemental sulfur and reduced
ferric is oxidize in fluidized bed reactor with immobilized Thiobacillus ferrooxidans on a carbon
support
