All the board members received this from our fellow board member Michele.

I think we had asked for a condensed story of our

history. What you do you think of this one?

How it all began:

In 1993, The Woman to Woman Kentuckiana dream was born when six Louisville women traveled to Delavan, Wisconsin to attend a
Woman Within Training Weekend. The concept was that as one person heals, the world heals . The dream was shared with a
question from the Weekend experience, How might your life be different? The educational and experiential weekend offered the
answer, discover the power of who you are.

The dream in Kentucky began its journey

Between the years of 1993 and 1999, more women traveled distances in order to participate in the Weekend Training New Jersey,
Texas and Wisconsin. In order to keep women in connection and experience a sense of community, Empowerment Circles were
created. These circles of support helped to deepen their weekend experience.

The Midwest region expanded its weekend locales. In 1999, Indiana and St Louis began hosting which brought the Weekend
experience geographically closer for women in Louisville, Lexington and southern Indiana.

Woman to Woman Kentuckiana flourished and formalized its structure. The Leadership Circle expanded to attend to the growth
initiatives and ongoing support of Empowerment Circles.

Woman to Woman Kentuckian hosted its first Woman Within Weekend in October 2002. Each year since, the Kentuckiana
Community has successfully hosted an annual Fall Woman Within Weekend.

A new dream

In 2006, the opportunity for all women to join the experience of support and community was expanded to Empowerment Circle
Trainings. These trainings enabled women to join the community whether or not they had completed the Woman Within Training
Weekend

Empowerment Circles

Empowerment Circles (E-Circles) embody and exemplify the mission of Woman to Woman Kentuckiana. E-Circles are small
groups of women created to support and empower a woman wxactly where she is on her journey. In these safe gatherings, we
hope to leave behind societal roles and expectations as we step into authenticity and experience being witnessed by other women.
E-Circles encourage women to feel their way through life joy, sorrow, fear, shame and anger not just think it.

If you are interested in more information on how to join an E-Circle, we offer a twelve-week training or a two day weekend intensive.
You may contact Michele Shuff, Registrar at 502.500.2377 to find out when the next training is scheduled.
