The Antipolo United Methodist
Church The Mission The mission of the Church is to make
disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Local
church provide the most significant arena through which disciple-making
occurs.
By process for carrying out our mission-we make disciple as we:
Evangelism
-proclaim the gospel, seek, welcome and gather persons into the body of
Christ;
-lead person to commit their lives to God through baptism by water and
the spirit and profession of faith in Jesus Christ;

Discipleship
-nurture persons in Christian living through worship, the sacraments,
spiritual disciplines, and other means of grace, such as Wesleys
Christian conferencing;

Mission
-send persons into the world to live lovingly and justly as servants of
Christ by healing the sick, feeding the hungry , caring for the stranger,
freeing the oppressed, being and becoming a compassionate, caring
presence, and working to develop social structures that are consistent
with the gospel; and
-continue the mission of seeking, welcoming and gathering persons into the community of the body of Christ.

In the Year of our Lord, 1930 a group of Methodist missionaries from Taytay led by Rev. Francisco Galvez set
foot in Antipolo, Rizal a bastion of Roman Catholic Church where the Shrine of Our Lady of peace and Good
Voyage is located. Despite the air of indifference and religious intolerance, these brethren from Taytay
undauntedly preach the Gospel until their missionary effort yielded converts to the Lord. One of the very first
convert was Zacarias Tapucar Sr.

The church nurtured to its capacity to become a local church recognized in annual conference level. Today with
statistical data of 286 TOTAL Professing Members.

MARKET DESCRIPTION

Antipolo, officially the City of Antipolo is a city in the Philippines located in the province of Rizal; about 25
kilometres east of Manila. It is the largest city in the CALABARZON Region. It is also the seventh most populous
city in the country with a population of 677,741 in 2010. The city is popular for being a pilgrimage site. It prides
itself as the "Pilgrimage Capital of the Philippines." The Marian image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good
Voyage or the Virgin of Antipolo.

Antipolo's population in the 2010 census was enumerated at 677,741. It grew at an annual rate of 4.19 percent
from the 2000 figure. Annual population growth rate has slowed relatively remains above the annual national
average of 2.04 percent. The 2007 figure is three times the population of the city in 1990.
The economy as of the latest local government income classification of the Department of Finance in 2005,

Antipolo is classified as a "First Class City". In 2007, the city registered a total revenue of 993.1 million, an
increase of 5.6 percent from the previous fiscal year, in 2010 this amount has grown to 1.56 billion. Its
proximity to Metro Manila has continuously spurred the growth of the real estate industry and by 2007, revenue
from real property taxes has ballooned by 32.1 percent from 2006 to 146.2 million as there are also about 456
residential subdivisions in the city.

The Department of Education maintains a school division in Antipolo, which supervises the 65 public schools (45
elementary schools, 20 high schools) in addition to 193 accredited private schools. There are two universities
operating satellite campuses in the city, the state-run University of Rizal System, and Our Lady of Fatima

RECOMENDATION
The implementation will take place in Conference Year 2014-2015 with the development of our work plan with
accountabilities, timeline and progress reports given to our Church Council. To set as quadrinium programme.
The Administrative Pastor, Boards, Committees and Ministries will develop the workplan and after assignments
are made with lead staff, lead volunteers and team members assigned, quarterly reports on progress will
happen at the Church Council meeting for the purpose of monitoring.
