Harmonic Concerns: B Section writes in the accidental (natural or sharp)

A: Like its own mini ABA; 4 bar phrases; Each a distinct quality
m1-4 - Rhythmic statement
m5-12 - Aliens Landing!!
m13-22 - Full band theme
m23-30 - Aliens Landing!!
m31-32 - Transition into B section
B: Like its own mini ABAB
m33-40 - Turns MAJOR!; much lighter; like the aircraft is soaring;
really an 8 bar phrase but with a 4-bar beginning and ending
m41-46 - Repeat of previous 8m but with trumpets;
m47-48 - Harmonic transition from FM to gm; funky chords
A: Repeat from beginning through m30
Coda: Similar to opening but in reverse order!
m49-52 - Aliens Landing!!!
m53-54 - Rhythmic Statement
m 55-end - Aliens Landing!! (and fading.)
Program Notes:
Ever wonder what it would sound like if Aliens landed in your backyard? The Junior High Bands nal
piece for tonights concert may be very close! You will be visualizing spaceships and strange creatures
within the rst moments. Soar through the skies with us as we perform Aliens Landing in Your
Backyard.
Similar Pieces (Title/Composer):
Alien Invasion - David Gorham - Wingert-Jones - VE - $45
Aliens Among Us (Theyre Here!) - David Gorham - Wingert-Jones - E - $45
It would appear Gorham wrote these pieces to accompany Aliens Landing. Without seeing the scores, I
imagine one could be perform the Invasion with a 5th grade, jointly between 5-6 for Among Us, and then
nish with Landing with 6th grade.
