Cuts and Crayons event

in Wetumka a huge success
A first annual Cuts and Crayons was held
on the evening of Aug. 3 at the Wetumka First
Assembly of God Church.
The event was led by Steven Tiger with the
hopes of blessing parents and children in the
community.
Hot dogs and hamburgers were served.
Area children received a bag loaded with supplies for the upcoming school year.
Approximately 85 bags were given to area
school children from pre-kindergarten through
high school grades.
Bags full of school supplies were also donated to Wetumka Public School teachers to help
supply their classrooms.
Jenessa Crump, Barbara Baker, Gail Bolinger,
Megan Wright and Brenda Guest offered children the opportunity to have their hair cut and
styled at no charge.
Over 40 haircuts were given during the event.
Single parents were also given a special gift
during the event.
We know the start of the school year can
be really hard on a lot of parents, especially
when they are the sole provider for the home.
We wanted to do something for the community
to help ease this burden, said Pastor Curt Bellinger. Our plan is to make this an annual event.
