steady state device but is a magnifier of trasient phenomena.
Also it does not behave like a L. C. network nor a transmission
line, but more like a unique type of wave guide. If all parts
of the system are designed properly the LM and hence dielectric
flu jups from zero to an enorous value aost instantaneously,
thereby producing a aost inconceivable displacement curent
into space. The transforer is then
basically a device for rapidly
discharging the capacitor bank nearly instant into free space,
producing O enorous dielectric shock wave similar to sonic boom.
Because the dissipation of the tansforer is for all practical
puposes negligible, the energ keeps increasing at a linear rate
per cycle of oscillation, thereby accuulating a gigantic quantity
of electrical energ. (A - form of laser action may be possible. )
In order for the transforer to resonate with the planet the
energ storage in the active region that grows aroud the sphere
terinal must equl the oon]Dgate energ storage of the earth,
a stiff requireent.
1T is interesting to note that dielectric -breakdown in this
active region grow into a log periodic form based on X
~
~X=1 as the
log base. This will be recognised as the trancendental PH1 or
te Golden Ratio. In glow discharges the ions of metallic eleents
for stale spheres of diaeter inverse to the atomic weight of
the element involved.
The transforer's principals of operation are as follows:
The first requirement is the sudden collapse of an energy field
thereby producing a sudden impulse of energy, second is the

Figure I shows the function of the volumetric and lineal

In all C3;es, therefore, where the larger t erminal surface
0> not come closer ut any point than (sy) ten time the

nnot be concered wi th the actual shape of the larger terinal

the ('onfgurati on ol the feld lint emanating from the smaller
surface.
It will be seen, therefore, that from the fat top of an
antenna, line; emanate al most symmetrically both upwards and
downward though the larger termi nal surface were one-

surrounding the antenna symmetrically on all side, in spite of
the Iact that tbc ground is ocated entirely at the bottom of the
antenna. This is clearly Iustrated in zigue I .
