7lay goes around the table in turns!
'ero Turns+ 8n each Hero1s turn, a
player can moe his or her Hero up to
the Hero1s speed, use an attack po$er,
and then use a special po$er 0if
possible3!
,reature Turns+ 8n each 4reature1s
turn, the #$ord Master can moe a
4reature up to its speed, use its attack
po$er, and then use its special po$er
0if possible3!
Turn -rder+ 4reature0s3 go *rst! Then
Heroes go in order of their Hero
number, lo$est number *rst! >f more
than one 4reature is in play, 4reatures
go in order of their 4reature number,
lo$est number *rst, and then Heroes!
(fter the 4reatures and all players hae
gone, start a ne$ round, 4reatures *rst2
-n .ah Turn
8n a turn, a player or the #$ord Master
can moe their pa$n, use an attack
po$er, and use certain special po$ers!
?ou can choose to skip one or all of the
parts of a turn, and you can do them in
any order! %or e9ample, &aen may
choose to use her attack po$er, to skip
her special po$er, and to moe!
Move/ent+ ?our Hero can moe a
number of squares up to his or her
speed! This can be done once, but at
any time in the Hero1s turn! (ll Heroes,
e9cept for the $i)ard, must be ne9t to a
4reature to attack it!
Attak )o(er+ ?our Hero uses attack
po$ers to *ght 4reatures! Here is an
e9ample attack po$er!
(n attack po$er is made up of the
Massive A0e 1d2 3 5 4or 1d10 315
Deals < point of a9e damage
.0a/ples
To use a Massie (9e attack po$er, the
player rolls one si9-sided die and adds -
to the result!
&aen's player rolls a @ and adds - to get
A! The player announces the result, and
the #$ord Master compares it to the
4reature1s (rmor 4lass! >f it equals or
beats the 4reature1s (rmor 4lass, then
the attack succeeds! %or e9ample,
&aen1s A is higher than the bullette1s
(rmor 4lass of B, so &aen succeeds in
hitting the bullette!
5ery time an attack against a Hero or
4reature succeeds, *ll up one little
circle on the corresponding card for
each CHitD or point of damage! "hen all
the Hit 7oint circles are *lled, if it is a
Hero, the Hero goes unconscious and
can be healed by the #$ord Master or
Healer! >f it is a 4reature, it dies and the
player $ho *nished it oE gets < Gold
4oin token and < F7 token!
#o in our e9ample, the bullette takes <
Hit 7oint of a9e damage, $hich is *lled
in on the bulllette's monnster card!
Note: It is rewarding for players to see
the hit points of a Creature drop. Keep
the hit points visible so that everyone
can see how close they are to defeating
a Creature. You can also use candy,
allowing the players to eat a piece of
candy for each hit point of damage
their Heroes deal.
Speial )o(er+ &aen1s special po$er
can only be used $hen she is hit by a
4reature! #o, her turn is done after she
hits the bullette! Ho$eer, after all the
name 0such as Massie (9e3, $hat you
roll to try to hit a 4reature 0such as
<d/3, the number you add to the result
of that roll 0G -3, and $hat happens if
you succeed in your roll 0such as CDeals
< Hit oint of a9e damageD36
Attak )o(er+ %aping Ma( 10
41d105
Deals 1 point teeth da/age6
The #$ord Master, playing the bullette,
rolls the ma9imum roll <d<H score of
<H, $hich is greater than &aen1s (rmor
4lass of A, so &aen takes one point of
teeth damage! Ho$eer, being hit by a
4reature means &aen can use her
special po$er!!!
Speial )o(er+ %erocious "arrior =
"heneer &aen is hit, you can shoe
the 4reature that hit you up to =
squares a$ay from her, in a straigt line!
Raen shoves the bullette two
squares straight away from her.
This means that the bullette, no longer
ne9t to any Heroes , and $ith its
moement used up against its $ill, it
cannot use its close-up special po$er6
Speial )o(er+ S(allo( 10 41d105
'ero loses their ne0t turn6
(nd so the bullette1s turn is oer, and it
is no$ the *rst Hero's turn to moe,
attack or perform an action!
'o( to !in
The Heroes $in $hen all the 4reatures
hae been defeated and the Dark Mirror
has been secured!
other players hae gone and the round
is oer, a ne$ round starts and it is the
bullette1s turn again! The #$ord Master
decides that the bullette then burro$s
underground and appears ne9t to &aen
0moing up to its speed of *e squares3!
Then it uses its attack po$er6
