Thieves
tried to
steal boat
engine
A CHARITY that helps
support children with
life-limiting conditions
has opened up its first
store in Pembrokeshire,
creating two full time
jobs.
Ty Hafan is one of the
UKs leading paediatric
palliative care charities
and offers the only chil-
drens hospice service in
south Wales.
On Friday, the char-
ity opened its 27th store, in
Bridge Street, Haverford-
west. There to cut the rib-
bon were TV personality
Anna Ryder Richardson,
A BOAT engine was damaged
on a boat moored at Dale Har-
bour sometime between 8pm
on Wednesday, July 30, and
8pm on Monday, August 4,
when someone attempted to
steal it. Having been unable to
remove the engine, they left it
hanging in the sea water.
Police say there has been
an increase in reports in the
Dale/Neyland area of attempt-
ed thefts of boat engines and
marine equipment.
Anyone with any informa-
tion should contact PC Ger-
wyn Davies 626 at Haverford-
west Police Station via 101.
and the Gooding family,
from Creswell Quay.
Brothers Michael and
Samuel Gooding are both
deficient in a specific
growth hormone which
has delayed their develop-
ment and, at 15 and 18, they
are small for their age.
Ty Hafan is an invalu-
able part of our lives. Not
only is it one of the fun
highlights of the year for
Samuel and Michael, it
also provides essential
respite for our family and
helps us to focus on their
younger siblings, said dad
David.
Since 1999, 26 Pembro-
keshire families have re-
ceived care and support
fromTy Hafan, which costs
around 3.7ma year to run.
Its shops provide more
than a third of its running
costs.
Anna Ryder Richardson,
who has supported Ty
Hafan for years, said: Im
really excited to be opening
Ty Hafans 27th shop along-
side a very special family
from Pembrokeshire.
