eighth graders
gives students a head start as
leaders in high school
empowers students to make a
difference in their communities

We strive to promote active
involvement of youths in their
communities by giving them the
leadership skills they need to
succeed.

OMNI Youth Services sponsors
the MYLE Team, a group of high
school students and leaders, in
organizing the conference.

Delegates will split into teams and
engage in a series of challenges
which will test their creativity,
teamwork, and ability to improvise.
Teams will compete against each
other to win prizes.
MYLE will provide breakfast and
lunch for the students. Delegates
will have the opportunity to meet
new people and get to know each
other during meals.
At the end of the day, all
parents will be invited to
attend a short presentation
reviewing the conference. All
delegates will receive

An inspirational speaker will
come and share secrets to
success in leadership. The
speech will feature tips on
how to stand out in high
school and accomplish goals.

A panel of adults with
backgrounds ranging from
politics to public service will
share leadership advice,
comment on their experiences,
and answer questions from the
attendees.

Several leaders of high
school organizations will talk
about their experiences with
leadership in high school and
answer questions from the
delegates.

Delegates may choose which of the following
workshops they would like to attend. Current high
school students with expertise in these subjects
will lead the workshops, which focus on common
skills that students need in high school.

Delegates will learn how to advertise in high
school through videos, posters, flyers,
websites, and other common techniques.
The workshop will feature many examples of
actual high school advertisements and will
offer delegates the opportunity to make their
own advertisements.

Delegates will learn how to write formal
letters on behalf of an organization. The
workshop will include multiple writing
exercises and the opportunity to see real
examples of effective writing.

Delegates will learn how to execute
pre- planned and impromptu
speeches. The workshop features
several interactive speaking
activities.

Delegates will learn how to effectively
manage groups of people. The workshop
will include tips on how to lead in high
school and will feature an activity in which
delegates will be given the opportunity to
exercise their new skills.
