increase their share in present markets. Film production , distribution
companies and organizations in the sector may beneft from these
supports. In this context, market research report intakes for companies
are supported in the ratio 60% and for sector foundations the ratio
is 75% up to 200.000 USD yearly. Promotion made abroad by frms
are supported in the ratio of 50% up to 300.000 USD, Sectoral and

THE POMEGRANATE
Nar
We all differ from each other like pomegranate seeds: We are both similar and
distinct yet we are still like a whole pomegranate. It is the crust of faith that
keeps us together, the faith that we have for each other. But, what if the crust
cracks... What if we doubt everything and our trust in each other... What if we
lose our sense of justice... What if we seek our own justice... Wont the seeds
scatter everywhere like a cracked pomegranate? The Pomegranate tells the
story of a woman; seeking her own justice. The Pomegranate questions the
justice of four people with different beliefs in a house, in half a day and in their
own realms of faith.

own axis reflects a different struggle and each character just as the world we
live in is touching the other consciously or unconsciously.

PERA BEAUTY
Pera Gzeli
Pera Beauty is a documentary inspired by the story of Laterna and Nilfer Saltk.
Laterna is a coy lady bearing beautiful lady pictures on her balcony, and Nilufer
who bonded with Laterna seamlessly after hearing her voice had devoted
herself to take Laterna back to her homeland that once she had to leave forcibly.
This film documents the resurrection and reintroduction of the Laterna, a
mechanical barrel piano that was once a common sight in Istanbul. Even though
the Laterna was born in Europe, it had its golden age in Istanbul between 1850
and 1950, becoming an indispensable element at the celebrations of the Greeks
in the city. After half a century, Nilfer Saltk reaches the Greek piano maker
Panos Ioannidis and convices him to build the first new laterna. The name of
this new Laterna is Pera Beauty . Through a series of street performances and
recordings, the Laterna has now been given a new lease on life.

THE MONSTERS DINNER
Canavarlar Sofras
Any given evening, any given place, any given married couple. Everything seems
normal at first, J and M are preparing for the evening, they will host another
couple for dinner; K and D. The guests arrive, a gift is presented and the
conversation begins- normal chit chat. Or so it seems. We see slowly that the
world these characters inhabit is disturbingly strange: anything to do with art
is forbidden, words of malice are accepted as the norm and when the neighbors
are suddenly shot down by the police no one is surprised. Ramin Matin Born in Turkey in 1977. Lived in France and the USA where he completed his

HAUNTED 2
Musallat 2
Haunted 2 is a psychological thriller and horror film like its predecessor,
Haunted. Elif is an attractive young woman from a wealthy family background.
She is an art teacher at a private school. On the outside, Elif seems happy
and fulfilled with life, but shes continually haunted by mysterious voices, has
frequent asthma attacks and nightmares. This repetitive chain of unnerving
experiences puts an increasing strain on Elif; its made all the worse because
she can neither account for it, nor see a way out. The cause of it all goes back to
a grave error of judgment made long in the past: a horrific and irreversible spell
cast in the wrong place at the wrong time... Elif sets off on a journey to confront
her shadowy past and unravel the mystery behind her terrifying daily ordeal.
But its a journey full of unexpected nasty surprises: surprises as unfathomable
as they are horrific; surprises that lead Elif onto a path from which theres no
turning back...

DANCER
Zenne
ZENNE is inspired by the true characters and stories of Zenne Can and Ahmet
Yildiz, who was murdered by his father July 18, 2008 in Istanbul. ZENNE is the
contemporary story of three unlikely friends: AHMET, a hyper-masculine gay
(bear); CAN, a male belly dancer (Zenne); and DANIEL, a German photo-journalist,
who are confronted by a systemic, institutionalized and culturally embedded
homophobia that leads to the tragic death of Ahmet at the hands of his own
father. Through this dynamic friendship and the events that unfold around
them, the film explores layers of intolerance along masculine/feminine, east/
west and traditional/modern lines in Istanbul, a city that is itself geographically,
culturally and historically at the very crossroads of those divides.
M.Caner Alper
Started his theatre journey at high school. He wrote in various printed magazines and internet
sites until he published his own humoresque stories in 2005. He worked with Turkish film
director Kutlug Ataman on screenwriting techniques and attended various classes by Robert
McKee about story, genre and drama. Alper produced and co-directed documentaries with
Mehmet Binay such as Whispering Memories, Talking Pictures and A long journey of
freedom. He started studying the vanishing culture of male belly dancers (ZENNEs) in the
Middle East in 2007.
Mehmet Binay
Studied political science in Germany and started his career as a diplomatic and energy
correspondent at a news channel in Turkey. He anchored and produced weekly TVprogrammes
about Turkeys troubled neighborhood for over three years. Between 2003-2006, Binay
documented the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline. Binay and M.Caner Alper
filmed the story of converted Muslim Armenians in a sequel called Whispering Memories
and Talking Pictures. ZENNE DANCER started as a documentary project about the vanishing
culture of male belly dancers in the Middle East until Ahmet Yildiz (directors common friend)
was murdered by his own father in 2008. ZENNE DANCER became a first feature film project
for the directors after Ahmets tragic murder. Mehmet Binay still works as a professional
photographer besides his filmmaking career.

CIRCLE
Daire
Circle is a story which is set in New Turkey amid such drastic social changes due
to rise of political islam to power and its sweeping reconciliatory settlement with
whatever it sees as the other which is basically the westernized old middle
class. By this token, when societys circle rotated new religious breed came
up, some oddly westernized and urbanized old breed came down. Ours is the
story of this ousted and bewildered kind looking for ways to survive at this new
depths of the society where they found themselves. Circle aims to tell about
a system in which hopelessness, submission and courage become existential
methods. It aims to describe people who on a daily basis do the irrational and
inconceivable to survive, and a system which forces people to do so. Circle is
the story of people in the characters of Feramuz, Arif and Betul who conjure up
interesting solutions to the extraordinary situations and obstacles generated by
the turn of the social wheel.

COME TO MY VOICE
Sesime Gel
In a snowy Kurdish mountain village in eastern Turkey, Berf, an old woman,
and Jiyan, her young granddaughter, are troubled when the only man of the
household, Temo, the son of one and father of the other, is arrested and taken
into custody by the local gendarmerie. The commanding officer has received
word that the villagers are hiding guns. It is announced that all the men of the
village will be kept in custody until their families submit and hand over the
guns they are hiding. But the problem is that there are no guns, at least to the
knowledge of these two blameless women. Despairing and on their own, Berf
and Jiyan are faced with a long journey in search of a gun that they can exchange
for their beloved Temo. But how can their innocence and naivety find a way out
in a system that threatens, eventually, to drag them into the sullied world of an
interminable conflict?

THE IMPECCABLES
Kusursuzlar
Ceme, an Aegean summer resort in Turkey. While it bustles with crowds of
tourists in the summer months, the time is now May and the town is calm and
empty. That is when two sisters from Istanbul, Lale and Yasemin, both in their
early thirties, have to come to esme, the playground of their early childhoods.
After 5 years of minimal communication, these two women find themselves
once again in the summer cottage of their late grandmother. Initially, everything
seems fine: the weather is beautiful, the sea is pristine, and the town harbors
the tranquility of the off-season But the usual dynamics of sibling comfort
and irritability are at play. Little by little, questions are raised: Why are these
two women really here? And why do they gradually turn so emotionally vicious
towards each other? Once the burden of a devastating secret is revealed, it is up
to them to decide whether this will bring them closer than ever or push them
apart forever.

MY NAME IS ELIF
Ben Elif
Ankara, 1980... Elif is the young daughter of provincial parents, migrants to
the city; a seven-year-old whos determined not to grow up. Shes hopeless at
school, her father sexually abuses her, and her mother belittles her all the time.
There are just two people shes close to: her big sister, Seval, and friend Jale.
After a while, when Seval becomes involved in the political turmoil of the day, Elif
finds herself without a sister. Throughout the story, Elif attempts to understand
grown-up concepts through her own prism. My Name is Elif is the story of
1980s Ankara told exclusively through the eyes of a little girl. The narrative sets
out to portray the turbulence of the period with a childs wide-eyed innocence
rather than from the politicized perspective of the adult world. No concept or
event is purely good or purely bad. Ironically, we come to realize through Elif how
childish many adult stories in fact are...

Denise, a botanist, who is studying and breeding a local plant, has moved to
a village on the Black Sea coast of Turkey after a traumatic loss and a failed
marriage. Being a foreigner and much older, she has a secretive relationship with
her lover Hamit. Denise does not (yet) know that Hamit is a human trafficker.
Both keep secrets from one another, Denise about her past and Hamit about
what he does. The tension builds as Denise encounters traces of a group of
immigrants who are to be taken on a dangerous journey by Hamit and meets
a young refugee girl, Sonya. The sense of approaching storm dominates the
film. The film is narrated in three chapters: The Shore, Ashes and Water, which
are non-chronologically arranged and focus on different aspects of events by
moments of overlap. Each chapter relates a different aspect of the events from
the perspective of a certain character.
