Snowflake Color Sorting
Cut out the snowakes. Have your child sort them by color.
Winter Items Sorting Activity
Cut out the pictures on the next page and have your child sort them into the appropriate box below.
Winter clothing Winter actvites
Snowflake Clip Cards
Materials: Clothespins
Directons: Print and cut the snowake clip cards. You may wish to laminate them for greater durability. Have
your child count the number of snowakes on each card and clip the corresponding number with the clothes-
pin.
Alternatvely, if you laminate them your child can use a dry erase marker to circle the correct number.

Winter Addition Game
Materials: Addend number cards (on next page), sum number cards (on next pages), and up to 20 winter-themed objects for countng
(e.g., snowake erasers, mini penguins, blue and white pom poms).
Directons: Print the addend and sum number cards on the next pages and cut them out. Print the winter additon board. You may wish to
laminate both the number cards and the winter additon board for greater durability.
Have your child select an addend number card and place it in the lef addend box on the board. Have your child count out that number of
objects and place them on the board.
Have your child select a second addend number card and place it in the right addend box on the board. Have your child count out that number
of objects and place them on the board.
Have your child calculate the total number of objects. Then have your child nd that number among the sum number cards and place that card
in the yellow sum box on the board.
Winter Subtraction Game
Materials: White minuend and subtrahend cards, yellow dierence cards, and 20 small objects for countng (e.g., snowake erasers, coton
balls, minature penguins).
Directons: Print and cut the white and yellow number cards on the next pages. Print the Winter Subtracton Game playing board. You may wish
to laminate both the number cards and the Winter Subtracton Game playing board for greater durability.
To play, have your child select two of the white number cards. Your child should put the greater number in the lef minuend box and the lesser
number in the middle subtrahend box.
Then, have your child count out objects equal to the number in the lef minuend box and place them on the game board.
Next, have your child take away objects equal to the number in the right subtrahend box.
Finally, have your child nd the yellow dierence card that represents the number of objects remaining. Your child should place the yellow
dierence card in the dierence box to the right of the equals sign.
Note: Depending on your childs skill level, you may want to start with just white numbers 1 to 5 or 1 to 10 rather than numbers up to 20.
