Prescription +f a person is suffering from a physical ailment such as heart disease he will of course get a prescription from a doctor in the hopes of being cured. $owever, if this same patient returns after some time complaining that his condition has not improved but at the same time the prescription has not left his poc'et and been utili-ed then he is the loser and has no one to blame but himself. 7rescriptions have to be utili-ed if they are to wor'. he $oly (uran is a curing prescription for all ailments whether seen or unseen, but sadly this $oly )oo' occupies shelf space more than it is read and implemented. "uslims then complain of one calamity after another and of their children turning rebellious until very soon the whole family disintegrates. Rememrance of Allah We should ma'e the remembrance of Allah our life*s purpose and never be heedless for an instant. he servant should constantly praise the One who sustains him. A Grain of Wheat &or wheat to become bread that is consumed by humans a seed is first planted into the ground and is nourished by the sun and rain. +t then grows into a plant that is reaped by a Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com farmer and finally becomes bread for the consumer after that plant is cleaned and ground. So much of Allah*s creation and mercy is active in bringing this wheat to the table as food yet the "uslims who consume it are heedless and neglect to give than's. An Animal -no's .ts "aster +f a dog or sheep is unleashed from its master in a busy mar'etplace it will still be observed to follow him despite all the distractions in the mar'et. +f an animal 'nows its master then why is man'ind so blind that it does not recogni-e its "aster5 #ifference $et'een "an and A Horse A horse, being a dumb animal is nevertheless loyal to the master who raised it and subse%uently owns it. +f wor'ed endlessly all day it cannot complain if it is sic' or as' for water if thirsty, and will wor' endlessly the following day in the same way for its master. he horse can only hope for some rest only if the master happens to stop for his own business and in the same way hope for some water only if it happens to be available. +t cannot stop according to its will if the need arises and has to relieve itself while pulling the cart on its way. "oreover if given less than its full share of feed at the end of a long hard day it cannot even complain at that. he master retires to his warm bed at night but there is nothing but the Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com cold stable for the horse, no wife and children to give it comfort and joy. +f this horse develops an open wound it still cannot complain that the master did not bandage it, and if whipped will also bravely withstand this cruelty if only because it 'nows the master*s bidding must be done. Standing in the ran's of battle facing the swords and arrows of the enemy the horse still does not hesitate when it feels the master*s heel in its side. he horse 'nows that the master wants it to advance into the enemy*s ran's for battle, and it heroically charges forward despite suffering wounds from the swords and arrows because of its un%uestioning loyalty to its master and recogni-ing that the master*s bidding must be done. A horse is a dumb animal but yet so loyal and obedient that it will give its life for its master. "an who has been given intelligence is nowhere as close in his obedience and is an ingrate considering the tremendous favors of Allah showered upon him each day. here are three hundred si!ty joints in the human body, yet who gives than's at the end of the day that every joint remained intact and no harm came to his body5 A &tran!e )ccurence here are literally millions of dust particles floating through the air at any given time that one does not notice, but can see a layer of dust settle on something if it is left in one place for Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com a long time. +t so happened once that someone got into an accident that tore off one of his eyelids. he blessing of an eyelid is that it opens and closes li'e a shutter thereby protecting the eye from foreign objects and it also 'eeps moisture flowing that in turn 'eeps the eye cleansed. 8ow without an eyelid, this person would have to wash his eye periodically because a layer of dust would settle very %uic'ly, obscuring his vision ands threatening infection. $owever, constant washing of the eye also posed a threat of infection because normally the eye is not accustomed to that much direct washing. $ence it was only now that this person reali-ed what a tremendous blessing a seemingly insignificant part of the anatomy was. Such is the case with all humanity that ta'es all of Allah*s blessings for granted. here is no shortcoming in the number of people who as' everything from Allah , but a tremendous shortcoming in those who are grateful. he root cause of this ungratefulness is heedlessness of Allah and all that $e has provided. A heedless person has an entirely different outloo' on life than someone aware of Allah and $is favors. A Warnin! &i!n A youth migrated from +ndia to 7a'istan but lost touch with all his relatives over time and thus found himself all alone. An uncle had also migrated but the two became separated and Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com thus they lost all contact. his youth was hard wor'ing and thus Allah rewarded him with wealth and a large comfortable house. An elderly gentleman then approached him one day and said, .+ am old and alone here without any family or relation. + am willing to wor' and 'eep watch in front of this house if you employ and feed me./ he youth agreed and fi!ed a wage for the elderly man. 8ow since this man was elderly he moved slowly and sic'ly due to age and health. $ence if wor'ing slowly or not at all due to illness at anytime his employer would become very angry and curse him, something that would deeply hurt the old man so that he would even be reduced to weeping. Once it so happened that the young man cursed this old man so severely that the latter said, ."y son, Allah is the 7rovider, so if your heart is not pleased with me + shall go elsewhere. 9estiny has reduced me to this otherwise + had come with a lot of my relatives but we all became separated and + do not 'now what happened to them./ $earing this reminded the young man of his own situation regarding his own relatives he had originally started with from +ndia. $e as'ed, .Old man, what happened to your relatives5/ hus the old man told his entire story of migrating from +ndia to 7a'istan during which he became separated and lost from his family. he young man was stunned and reali-ed that this was the same uncle he had come with from +ndia who his mother would pine for since they lost all contact. Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com he youth now fell to his uncle*s feet weeping and begging forgiveness for his harsh words and actions. $e pleaded, .#ncle + have erred please forgive me. his entire mansion is yours to live here and do as you please for the rest of your life./ $owever, his uncle declined the offer and said, .8o my son, + now reali-e my place in this world and who + am./ his youth gravely misjudged a certain situation and now the reality turned out to be something very different from what he had assumed. 0eali-ing the truth he now begs forgiveness from the same person he was cursing a moment earlier, but regretfully cannot turn bac' the cloc'. he situation is li'ewise for the believer who has become estranged from Allah . Only when he comes in the company of those close to Allah does he begin to recogni-e his 6reator and reali-e what a wasteful life he has been living. White $earded /et T'elve /ears )ld A white bearded sage was once as'ed his age and so this venerable gentleman replied, .+ must be around ten to twelve years old./ $is %uestioner was very surprised and as'ed, .$ow can you say you are twelve years old when your hair has started to grow white5/ he elderly gentleman replied, .:es my son, it has been twelve years since + sincerely repented for my sins. )efore that + did not have a life, only shame./ Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com $enefits of the Shaykh%s *ompany 0ighteous company awa'ens the heart and the person, just li'e a dying plant regains life and beauty in the hands of a competent gardener. +n this very same way a see'er*s life enters full bloom when he or she ta'es the hand of a righteous shay/h. Once a woman falsely accused $adrat "usa e of illicit behavior at the behest of (arun, and $adrat "usa e was very hurt and angry when the truth was finally revealed. $e cried to Allah in his desperation, .O Allah 3 $e accused me of such a falsehood3/ Allah can never bear $is 7rophets to be in pain, so for a limited time $e commanded the earth to fulfill $adrat "usa*s e bidding. Allah said, ."y beloved 7rophet, the earth will obey your every command./ $adrat "usa e in his anger commanded the earth to swallow (arun, and hence (aran san' in the earth up to a fraction of his body. $adrat "usa e issued the same command and so (arun san' deeper in the ground. (arun started to weep loudly and beg for forgiveness but $adrat "usa e was at the pea' of his anger and issued a third and final command for the earth to swallow (arun and thus (arun disappeared into the earth. When (arun was finally gone Allah said to $adrat "usa e, Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com ."y beloved 7rophet, you were in anger and commanded the earth three times to swallow (arun. + swear on "y Own $onor and Anger that if + was deciding the issue and (arun was begging forgiveness + would have surely forgiven him./ Allah loves $is creation coming to $im for repentance and such a deed is very valuable to Allah . &incere Repentance An elderly gentleman passed by a group of debating youths who as'ed him to settle a matter between them. One of them as'ed, .We are debating whether Allah 'eeps special watch on the heart of a righteous and sinless person or on the heart of a grave sinner who sincerely repents5/ he man replied to the youth, ."y son, + am not a scholar, but + have observed one thing in my profession as a cloth weaver. As + wor' the spool a thread no doubt brea's and so + tie it bac' up, and from that point on 'eep a special eye on that specific thread to see that it does not brea' again. +ts entirely possible that when someone repents from a previous satanic life and returns to Allah that Allah 'eeps a special watch on him to ma'e sure that that heart does not slip and go astray again./ &haitan%s #elusion A common and dangerous misconception is that people can be anything on the outside as long as the heart itself is clean. his is a delusion of Shaitan because the effects of a clean Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com and pure heart should resonate to the outside and rectify one*s actions and personality. +f this is not the case then this is clear proof that the heart is not clean. +t is essential that people wor' on both hand in hand. One day he was seated with some friends laughing and moc'ing $adrat )ilal*s call to prayer ;adhan< when the "essenger of Allah passed by. Seeing him all the children ran away e!cept Abu "adhura, who was the oldest of the group and felt ashamed to run li'e the others. he "essenger of Allah summoned him closer and Abu "adhura reluctantly complied. $e started sweating in apprehension but the 7rophet calmly assured him not to be frightened and further as'ed him to continue the "uslim call to prayer e!actly as he had been reciting it earlier. hus Abu "adhura started imitating $adrat )ilal*s call as he had done earlier and a change seemed to come over him as he reached sh0had$ anna M$hammadar 7as$lllah . When finished the "essenger of Allah told him that he could go but Abu "adhura hesitated. $e now said to the Ahl Sunnah Wal Jammah Online - www.aswjonline.com 7rophet , .Abu "adhura will now only go wherever the "essenger of Allah goes./ A moment earlier this boy had been moc'ing +slam*s call to prayer but as his eyes fell upon the "essenger of Allah, Allah in $is infinite mercy turned the moc'ery into reality and opened $adrat Abu "adhura*s heart to +slam. $adrat Abu "adhura later became the 'eeper of the 'eys to the =aa*ba and the prayer caller of "a''ah where he performed the call to prayer for the ne!t si!ty years.
