Minnesota and twice as big
as Virginia

and numerous countries
There are 5 million

Have I Told You Lately? Different parts of the body
God has chosen a place for each of us in the body of believers (Romans 12 and 1 Corinthians
12). He has given us the gifts we need to fulfill that role, just as he has put the fingers on our
hands so they can fulfill their role. Some of the gifts listed in Romans are prophecy, service,
teaching generosity and leadership. Using these gifts as God intended is a mark that we are
being led by Christ (Romans 12:9-21).
I feel as is Ive been ripped from my place of comfort on the body. Not that my giftedness has
changed, only that Im using it differently. Maybe Ive been moved to a different side of the
body, maybe Ive been engaged in some serious strength/ faith training. Either way, the
comfort zone has been stripped away.

Entering into partnerships to spread the gospel to the world is something that is easy for me.
Asking for people to partner with me in this ministry seems insurmountable. I am a self-
sufficient American! I just spent a more than an hour trying to close a car hood, rather than
calling the owner to learn the trick.

So what can I do?
1. Admit reliance: I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him,
he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing (John 15:5). I
need help, I cannot complete the race in my own strength.

2. Have a better attitude: Rejoice in the Lord always! Paul tell the Philippians many times to
rejoice, even if he perishes for the sake of their faith he tells them to be glad and rejoice
with him (2:17). If Paul can find contentment and rejoice in losing his life, I should be
able to find the same in something much less perilous.

3. Press on: I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ
Jesus. (Philippians 3:14) God has given me the calling, the giftedness, the strength and
the reason to rejoice in all circumstances. I must press on.
It is my prayer that you too will press on to the goal, rejoicing in your calling, giftedness and
God given strength. Grace and Peace to you!
