Learning The Truth about `Issa (Jesus)

by Yahya Adel Ibrahim

All Praise is for Allah alone. He is the Rabb of all that exists. Surely, we send the highest Salah
and Salam upon the Final Prophet, the leader of the pious and upon his family, companions
and those who follow their example with Ih'san till the Day of Reckoning.

Amma Ba`du:

One of the greatest hurdles confronting Muslims today is a lack of knowledge about certain
essential beliefs that we as Muslims must unwaveringly adhere to. Of the most pertinent issues
facing Muslims living in localities that are heavily influenced by western culture is how we
view `Issa bin Marium -Jesus the Son of Mary – `alihi as-Salaam (`alihi as-Salaam).

On a cyclical basis we are confronted with different "religious" occasions that are marked by
our Christian neighbours, co-workers and acquaintances. It is paramount that we as Muslims
have a firm understanding of what he – `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) represents to us as Muslims.
Whether it is Easter Monday or Christmas day, we as Muslims should know what Islam says
about the issues that are presented to us on a regular basis.

This four part series will attempt to expound upon the basic knowledge that Muslims may
already have. It will also seek to introduce evidences from the Noble Quran and the Pure
Sunnah with regards to issues that may not have been discussed in detail before. There are
four main issues regarding `Issa bin Marium (`alihi as-Salaam) that we as Muslims must have
knowledge of:

 The Muslim Nation is more Worthy of `Issa than all the other nations

 Who was Marium? And the Truth about the Immaculate Conception and the Birth of
`Isaa (`alihi as-Salaam)

 The Life and Near Death of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)

 The Inevitable Return of `Issa to Slay the Dajjal (One-eyed liar or the Anti-Christ) and
Lead the Muslim Nation

We will attempt to deal with each of these four points – beginning here with Part One – in a
knowledge based manner. The opinions expressed will be those that are held by the majority
of the Scholars of Islam. The weaker opinions or those that do not have an evidentiary basis
will not be discussed unless to show their inaccuracy or incorrectness.

In discussing this issue we will only turn to the verified sources of authenticity. We will only
narrate that which is accepted as true and verified by the Muslim scholars of past and present.
We will not look into sources that do not have an Islamic basis. A Muslim writes this
discussion for Muslims, from exclusively Islamic scholarly sources. To debate these issues from
others sources (Bible) is a wholly separate discussion that has no place here.

The Muslim Nation is More Worthy

Of `Issa than All Others

The one who claims that `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) is God, or that `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) is the
Son of God, or that God is a Trinity that includes `Issa is in fact the most distant from the
teachings of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) even if he calls himself a devout Christian. Claiming love
for someone implies that you adhere to what that individual stood for and called to. `Issa
(`alihi as-Salaam) was never one who claimed any one of the previous three statements for
himself. In fact neither did his true followers. For this to become clear we will analyze four
main points:

 The Prophets of Allah are all Related

 The Only accepted Deen (Religious Way of Life) is Islam

 `Issa was but a humble Messenger and Prophet of Allah

 `Issa distances himself from the slander and unjustified claims of Christians

The Prophets of Allah are all related

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "I am the most worthy of `Issa bin Marium
in this life and in the hereafter." They (Sahaba) asked: "Why is that O Messenger of Allah
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam)?" He (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) replied: "The Prophets are
paternal (bloodline) brethren (from fathers side). Their mothers may be different (races,
peoples, bloodlines) yet their Deen is always one (Islam)." Reported by Bukhari and Muslim.

Therefore this necessitates that he who disputes the validity of one of the true Prophets and
Messengers has in fact reviled and disputed all of them. One cannot believe in Muhammad
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) and not believe in `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam). Equally, one cannot
truly believe in `Issa and not believe in Muhammad (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam). To truly
accept one Prophet or Messenger necessitates the acceptance of all those who came before him
and all who will come after him, ending with Muhammad (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam).

This concept is clearly portrayed in the Quran. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) mentions the first
Messenger to humanity Nuh or Noah (`alihi as-Salaam) in the Quran. What is very interesting

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 4

is that Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) states in Surat ash-Shu`arah (26:105) that "Nuh's people
disbelieved the Messengers."

The point of relevance is that a plural (Messengers) is used in this ayah, yet we know that there
were no Messengers sent to his people or humanity as a matter of fact. Allah only sent Nuh
(`alihi as-Salaam) to his people and none other before him. This same concept is further
emphasized in the same Surat. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"`Ad's people disbelieved the Messengers." Ash-Shu`rah (26:123)

"Thamud's people disbelieved the Messengers." Ash-Shu`rah (26:141)

"Lut's (Lot's) people disbelieved the Messengers." Ash-Shu`rah (26:160)

We know that to each of these people only one Messenger was sent to them. Disbelieving in
one Prophet or Messenger is disbelief in all the Prophets and Messengers.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"The Messenger (Muhammad) believes in what has been sent down to him from
his Lord, and (so do) the believers. Each believes in Allah, His Angels, His Books,
and His Messengers. (They say,) `We make no distinction between one another
of His Messengers.'" Al-Baqarah (2:285)

Therefore all the Prophets and Messengers are a fraternity of brethren through the lineage of
their fathers. Even `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam), who was born without a fathers' input into the
equation of procreation is from the family of Bani Israel the descendant of Ishaq (Isaac) son of
Ya `qoub or Jacob (`alihi as-Salaam).

Even more important is to know that all the Prophets called to one and the same thing –Islam.
This brings us to the second point of our analysis:

The Only accepted Deen (Religious Way of Life) is Islam

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says: "Truly the religion with Allah is Islam." Ali-`Imran (3:19)

All of the Prophets and Messengers came calling to the one true faith. They all were sent with
one mission. They were selected to call people to singling out only Allah in worship and to

disavow all other gods or deities while establishing Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) alone as the
One deserving all worship. All the Prophets and Messengers called their respective peoples to
Islam. Nuh (`alihi as-Salaam) called to Islam: Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"(Nuh said) But if you turn away (from accepting Islamic Monotheism) then no
reward have I asked of you, my reward is only from Allah, and I have been
commanded to be of the Muslims!" Yunus (10:72)

Ibrahim and Ya'qoub or Abraham and Jacob (`alihi as-Salaam) called to Islam: Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"And who turns away from the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) except him who
befools himself? Truly, We chose him in this world and verily, in the Hereafter
he will be among the righteous.

When his Lord said to him, `Submit (Be Muslim)!' He said, `I have submitted
myself (I am Muslim) to the Lord of the all that exists.' And this (Islam) was
enjoined by Ibrahim upon his sons and by Ya`qoub (Jacob) saying, `O My sons!
Allah has chosen for you the (true) religion, die not then except in the Faith of
Islam (as Muslims).'

Or were you witnesses when death approached Ya'qoub? When he said to his
sons, `What will you worship after me (my death)?' They said, `We shall worship
your God (Allah) and the God of your fathers, Ibrahim, Isma`eel (Ishmael), Ishaq
(Isaac). The One (God), and to Him we submit (are Muslim).'" Al-Baqarah (2:130-
133)

Musa or Moses (`alihi as-Salaam) came with nothing other than Islam. Allah (subhanahu wa
ta`ala) says:

"And Musa said: `O my People! If you have believed in Allah, then put your trust
in Him if you are Muslims.'" Yunus (10:84)

Yusuf or Joseph (`alihi as-Salaam) came calling his people to Islam. Allah (subhanahu wa
ta`ala) says:

"(Yusuf supplicated) My Lord! You have indeed bestowed on me of the

sovereignty, and taught me something of the interpretation of dreams – the

(Only) Creator of the heavens and the earth! You (O Allah) are my Wali
(Protector, Helper, Supporter, Guardian) in this world and in the Hereafter.
Cause me to die as a Muslim (submitting to You alone) and join me with the
righteous." Yusuf (12:101)

In turn, `Issa bin Marium (`alihi as-Salaam) came calling his people only to Islam. Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"Then when `Issa came to know of their disbelief, he said: `Who will be my
helpers in Allah's Cause?' The disciples said: `We are the helpers of Allah; we
believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims.'" Ali-`Imran (3:52)

And the finality of Prophethood, the Imam of the Messengers and the Leader of the Righteous,
Muhammad (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) was sent calling all of humanity not just a single
people to Islam. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"This day I have perfected your religion for you (all humanity), completed My
Favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion." Al-Ma'idah
(5:3)

The religion of all those truly sent by Allah as Messengers was Islam. What is quite amusing to
see is that there are those who accept the concept of Monotheism (Jews and Christians) yet
reject it at the same time. The Jews reject known Prophets and Messengers of Allah. They at
times went as far as executing them. This was planned for `Issa as will be explained later on in
our discussions. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) describes this vividly in the Quran:

"Is it that whenever there came to you a Messenger with what you yourselves
desired not, you grew arrogant? Some you disbelieved and some you killed." Al-
Baqarah 2:87

On the other hand, those who claimed Christianity went too far in the veneration of their
Prophet and Messenger `Issa. They corrupted his teachings by claiming for him things that he
never stated for him self. They elevated `Issa after his departing them to a paganistic status
that nullified whatever Monotheistic faith they had in their hearts. Allah (subhanahu wa
ta`ala) says:

"And they say: `The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or
children).' Indeed you have brought forth (said) a most terrible, evil thing.
Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the
mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son (or offspring) to the Most
Gracious. But it is not befitting (the Majesty) of the Most Gracious (Allah) that He

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 7

should beget a son (or offspring). There is none in the heavens and the earth but
comes unto the Most Gracious as a slave." Marium (19:88-93)

Shaykhul Islam Ibn al-Qayyim has a beautiful poem dispelling the falsities and irrational of
Christians past and present. He poetically states:

To the worshippers of the Messiah (`Issa) we put forth a question.

We seek an answer from those who have comprehension.
If a god was to be put to death by a people
Can he be truly godly?
Stranger than a god being interned in a grave,
Is being confined in a womb
Remaining for nine months
In darkness; nourished from his mothers blood
Finally exiting the birth canal a small weak child
With open mouth seeking a breast to suckle
Suckling thus necessitating urination and defecation
Is this the God that you claim?!

Quite simply he is but a man who was chosen by Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) as a caller to
guidance and righteousness. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"The Messiah (`Issa) bin Marium, was no more than a Messenger, many who
were Messengers have passed away before him. His mother (Mary) was a
Sidiqah (believed in Words of Allah). Both of them used to eat food (as all other
human beings). Look how We make the Ayat (proofs, evidences, lessons,
examples) clear to them; yet look how they are deluded away (from the truth)."
Al-Ma'idah (5:75)

Some will ask, how can someone be born to a virgin mother and not be divine?

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) answers:

From a 4-part lecture by Yahya Adel Ibrahim Visit AlHidaayah.Net for More Books!
Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 8

"Verily, the likeness of `Issa before Allah is the likeness of Adam. He created him
(Adam) from dust, then (He) said to him: `Be!' – and he was." Ali-`Imran (3:59)

Surely the creation of a complete physical man from dust is greater than the creation of `Issa. If
Adam (`alihi as-Salaam) is not thought of as being divine, then why has the same claim been
made for `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)?

`Issa distances himself from the slander and unjustified claims of Christians

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) gives us a glimpse of what will be spoken by `Issa on the Day of
Judgment in defense of himself and proclaiming his innocence and freedom from the
unjustified claims of those who ascribed to him abominable lies. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)
mentions this to us in the concluding verses of Surat al-Ma'idah:

"And (remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection): `O `Issa, son
of Marium! Did you say unto men: `Worship me and my mother as two gods
besides Allah?''

He (`Issa) will say: `Glory is to You (Alone)! It was not for me to say what I had
no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You surely, have known it. You know
what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours; truly You, only
You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and (unseen).'

`Never did I say to them except what You (Allah) commanded me to say:
`Worship Allah, My Lord and Your Lord.' And I was a witness over them while I
dwelt amongst them, but when You took me up, You were the Watcher over
them; and You are a Witness to all things.'

`If You punish them, they are Your slaves, and if You forgive them, verily, You,
only You, are the All-Mighty, the All-Wise.'

Allah will say: `This is a Day on which the truthful will profit from their truth:
Theirs are Gardens under which rivers flow (in Paradise) – they shall abide
therein forever.' Allah is pleased with them and they are pleased with Him. That
is the great success (Paradise).

To Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and all that is
therein, and He is Able to do all things." Al-Ma'idah (5:116-120)

These are the words of truth that are undeniable by the one who possesses insight, rational and
a clear understanding of Allah.

In our upcoming discussion we will analyze and discuss the Immaculate Conception from the
Muslim perspective. Who was Marium and why was she chosen by Allah to carry `Issa (`alihi
as-Salaam)? How was she made to conceive him? What were the circumstances before and
after the Miraculous birth of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)?

These and other points will be discussed in part two of this four part series seeking to learn
about the slandered and oppressed Prophet and Messenger of Allah `Issa bin Marium.

Who was Marium?

And the Truth about the Immaculate Conception
and the Birth of `Isaa (`alihi as-Salaam)

It has been aptly stated that behind every successful man there is a woman. In most cases,
ones' mother is by far the single most profound shaping force behind a young man or woman.
From the moment of conception the mother to be undergoes emotional, physical and
psychological changes that ready her for the responsibility of shaping the life a new human
being. The mother is an institution of higher learning. She is a bastion of blind love for her
child. She is a proprietor of undying devotion. The mother is a source of physical nutrition and
safety, emotional attachment, psychological comfort and spiritual guidance to her growing
child.

Therefore, we are compelled as Muslims to honour, elevate, adore, protect, esteem, respect,
revere, strengthen, recognize, be dutiful to, give comfort to, show loyalty and allegiance to, pay
homage to and supplicate for ones mother.

The mother-son relationship is one of great importance and value in Islam. As such, we have
been given many great examples in the Quran and the Sunnah to model ourselves after. One
can see examples in the Quran of all of the different forms of family structure. To see the
relationship of a foster mother with her adopted son look to the example of Musa or Moses
(`alihi as-Salaam) and his foster mother Asiya (`alihi as-Salaam). To see the relationship of a
single mother raising her son alone look to the example of Isma`eel or Ishmael (`alihi as-
Salaam) and his mother Hajar (`alihi as-Salaam). To see the relationship of an unrighteous
mother with her children look to the example of the daughters of Lot or Lut (`alihi as-Salaam)
and their unrighteous mother.

Of the most poignant and telling mother-son relationships in the Quran is that of `Issa bin
Marium (`alihi as-Salaam). For the first and last time in history a Prophet would not be
addressed by his father's name. Rather, he is referred to as Jesus the son of Mary.

To assess and grasp the true virtue of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) it is necessary to learn about his
mother Marium ibnata `Imran (`alihi as-Salaam). Who is Marium (`alihi as-Salaam)? Marium
(`alihi as-Salaam) simply is of the most complete women of all humanity, past, present and
future.

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 11

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "Many men have reached completion (in
their relationship with Allah such as the many thousands of Prophets Ibn Hajr).

(Yet,) only four woman have reached (this same level of) completion. Marium bint (daughter
of) `Imran, Asiya the wife of Pharaoh, Khadijah bint Khuwaylid (wife of Rasool ul Allah) and
Fatimah bint Muhammad (reached completion). The excellence and superiority of `Aisha (wife
of Rasool ul Allah) in relation to the rest of women is the equal of that of Thareed (Meat filled
dish) in relation to other dishes." Agreed upon its authenticity by both Imam Bukhari and
Imam Muslim.

Marium is the daughter of one of the most well known and respected men from the Jewish
nation. She is from the house of `Imran. Her mother is Hinah bin Faqoud (Ibn Katheer's
Bidayah). Hinah bint Faqoud was unable to bear a child for a number of years. She turned in
sincere supplication to Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) beseeching Him (subhanahu wa ta`ala) to
bless her with a child whom she vowed to dedicate to the service of Allah. Allah (subhanahu
wa ta`ala) says:

"Allah chose Adam, Nuh (Noah), and the family of Ibrahim and the family of
`Imran above the `Alameen (all creation during their respective times). Offspring,
one of the other and Allah is the All-Hearer, All-Knowing.

(Remember) when the wife of `Imran said: `O my Lord! I have vowed to You
what (the child that) is in my womb to be dedicated for your services (free from
all worldly work and obligations; solely for your worship) so accept this from
me. Verily you are the All-Hearer (You hear my Du`a) and the All-Knowing (and
you know my sincere intention in fulfilling this vow).'

Then when she gave birth to her (Marium), she said `O my Lord! I have given
birth to a female child (Ibn Abbas states that the Jews only accepted males into
dedicated service).' – And Allah knew better what she brought forth (He is the
Creator), - `And the male is not like the female, and I have named her Marium
(literally = pure maidservant of Allah), and I see refuge with You (Allah) for her
and her offspring from the Shaytan (Satan), the outcast.'

So her Lord (Allah) accepted her with goodly acceptance. He made her grow in a
good manner and put her under the care of Zakariyya (Prophet Zachary)." Ali-
`Imran 3:33-37

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 12

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) mentions: "No new born escapes the prick
(touch) of the Shaytan at the time of their birth. (The touch is what) causes them to begin to
scream. Only Marium and her son (escaped being molested by the Shaytan)." Reported
through authentic narrations in the Musnad of al-Imam Ahmed and the Sahih of al-Imam
Muslim.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) thus answered the supplication by Hinah for Marium and her
future offspring. Marium was taken under the tutelage of the great Prophet of Allah Zackariya
(`alihi as-Salaam). In fact Allah chose Zachariya (`alihi as-Salaam) for the great task of
spiritually rearing Marium (`alihi as-Salaam). Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) describes this in the
Quran:

"This is part of the news of the Ghaib (unseen, news of past nations of which you
have no knowledge prior to this) which We reveal to you (O Muhammad). You
were not with them when they cast lots with their pens as to which of them
should be charged with the care of Marium; nor were you with them when they
disputed." Ali-`Imran 3:44

The pious leaders of Bani Israel gathered in dispute as to whom would be given charge of
Marium. They decided to throw their pens in the river (Jordan). The owner of the pen that
flowed against the current would be given charge of Marium (Ibn Katheer al-Bidayah).

To truly appreciate the virtue of Marium we remember the words of Allah:

"And (remember) when the angels said: `O Marium! Verily, Allah has chosen
you, purified you (from Shirk and disbelief and sin), and chosen you above the
woman of the `Alameen (all creation during her time). O Marium! Submit
yourself with obedience to your Lord and prostrate yourself, and bow down
along with those who bow down (to Him).'" Ali-`Imran 3:42,43

The angels would openly address her and bring her what she desired in forms of sustenance.
Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"So her Lord (Allah) accepted her with goodly acceptance. He made her grow in
a good manner and put her under the care of Zakariyya (Prophet Zachary).
Every time he entered the praying place to (visit) her, he found her supplied with
sustenance. He said, `O Marium! From where have you received this?' She said,
`This is from Allah.' Verily Allah provides sustenance to whom He Wills,
without limit." Ali-`Imran 3:37

This honoured woman was therefore chosen by Allah for a unique mission that would test her
faith and resolve.

The Immaculate Conception

Owing the delicate and confusing nature of this great occurrence, Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)
records this happening in the Quran with precision and point by point detail. In a Sura titled
Marium (Chapter 19), Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) describes to us the Immaculate Conception
and the birth of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam). To gain full benefit and strengthen our grasp of this
great happening we will at times insert explanatory words and arguments (derived from the
Tafseer of the Rabbani Scholars) in the midst of the verses (in Italics).

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says in Surat Marium (19:16-26):

"And mention in the Book (the Quran, O Muhammad the story of) Marium,
when she withdrew in seclusion from her family to a place facing the east.

She placed a screen (to screen herself) from them. We then sent unto her our
Ruh (Jibreel or Archangel Gabriel), and he appeared before her in the form of
a man in all respects (physically). [In the midst of her screen and secluded state a
strange man confronted her in her private quarters. Feeling threatened she turned to
Allah.]

She said: `Verily, I seek refuge with the Most Gracious (Allah) from you, if
you do fear Allah.' [Instead of saying I seek refuge with the Most Mighty she
mentioned Allah with His attribute of Rahmah (Most Gracious) to remind the seemingly
threateningly stranger of Mercy and Grace rather than Anger and Wrath. Her immediate
impulse was to turn to Allah the Protector rather than to seek what may be the futile aid
of others on the onset of the happening.]

(The angel) said: `I am only a messenger from your Lord, (to announce) to you
the gift of a righteous son.'

She said: `How can I have a son, when no man has touched me, nor was I
unchaste?'

He said: "So (it will be), your Lord has said, `That is easy for Me (Allah)! And
(We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah),
and it is a matter already decreed.'"

[By whose Power and Might were the heavens created and raised above one another
without supports?

By whose Power and Might was the earth created as a sphere yet made flat for those who
tread upon its surface?

By whose Power and Might was Ibraheem (`alihi as-Salaam) saved from the fire?

By whose Power and Might was Musa (`alihi as-Salaam) Saved from Pharaoh?

By whose Power and Might was Yunus or Jones (`alihi as-Salaam) saved from the whale?

By Whose Power and Might was `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) eventually going to be saved
from the plots of the Jews and Romans?

The answer is found in Suratil-Hashr (59:22-24): "He is Allah, beside Whom none has
the right to be worshipped but He. (Allah is) the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen.
He is the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. He is Allah beside Whom none has the right
to be worshipped but He. (Allah is) the King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects, the
Giver of Security, the Watcher over His creatures, the All-Mighty, the Compeller, The
Supreme. Glory is to Allah! (High is He) above all that they associate as partners with
Him. He is Allah, the Creator, the Inventor of all things, the Bestower of forms. To Him
belong the Best Names. All that is in the Heavens and the earth glorify Him. And He is
the All-Mighty, the All-Wise." Al-Hashr (59:22-24)]

He said: "So (it will be), your Lord has said, `That is easy for Me (Allah)! And
(We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah),
and it is a matter already decreed.'" [A sign of Tawheed during his stay with Bani
Israel and a sign of the nearness of the Day of Judgment after his descent from the
heavens to say the one eyed liar or the Dajaal.]

So she conceived him, and she withdrew with him to a far place (Bethlehem
about 4-6 miles from Jerusalem). [She remained in Jerusalem until the signs of her
pregnancy began to manifest themselves. When the signs began to show themselves she
moved to Bethlehem for privacy. After the conception she went to visit her sister, the
mother of Yahya (`alihi as-Salaam) bin Zachariya (`alihi as-Salaam) and told her of what
had transpired.

Imam Malik radhiallahu `anhu states: It has reached me that Yahya bin Zachariya and
`Issa bin Marium

are cousins from the side of the mother, and that their conception was in the same day
(look for an upcoming discussion of the Story of Yahya and his father Zachariya).
Reported by Ibn Kathir in Bidayah]

And the pains of childbirth drove her to the trunk of a date palm. [It should not
be misunderstood that after conception Marium immediately and simultaneously gave
birth to a child. This should not be misconstrued due to the nature of the wording or in
misunderstanding the placement of the Faa (Faa ut-Ta`qeeb). The previous verse is
preceded with the verse of Conception. The verse of conception does begin with a Faa, as
does this one. This usually means that the two acts are linked in a specific time
constraint, and in sequence. The important point is that the time constraint and sequence
is relative to the action in question. The Faa is also used in Surat al-Mu'minoon verse
number 14. Allah says: "Then we made the Nutfah (semen and ovum) into a clot, then
We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh
bones...." The Faa (translated to the word Then in this example) is used in the same
manner of linking the respective phases. Yet there is no claim that these phases are done
simultaneously, rather it implies that they are consecutive in nature. As well, we will
soon see that the people accused Marium of immorality because she came carrying a
newborn. This implies that the time frame caused them to uniformly suspect that the
child was hers. Ibn Kathir states that the majority of the scholars (Ibn Jareer, Ibn al-
Qayim, Al-Qurtubi and Ibn Taymiyyah) contend that she carried `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)
for full term (9 months).]

She said: `Would that I had died before this, and had been forgotten and out of
sight!' [The pain, fear of reaction of people and loneliness was unbearable.]

Then (the babe or Jibreel) cried unto her from below her saying: `Grieve not,
your Lord has provided you a stream of water beneath you. And shake the
trunk of the date-palm tree towards you, it will let fall fresh ripe-dates upon
you. So eat and drink and be glad. And if you see any human being say I have
vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allah) so I shall not speak to any human
being this day.' Surat Marium (19:16-26)

[A spring sprout from beneath her and food was made available for nourishment. Taking
a vow of silence was the preferred from of fasting during those times. It is deemed
Haraam (prohibited) in Islam.]

The conception was Divinely Ordained. This is the undeniable, verified truth of what truly
transpired more than 2000 years ago. It has been eternally recorded for humanity in the Quran
so that there is to be no discrepancy or disillusion.

In our upcoming discussion we will analyze and dissect what `Issa called to and the miracles
that Allah bestowed upon him to be a sign to mankind. What were the attitudes of the people
towards `Issa during his young years and throughout his Prophethood? How and why `Issa
was saved from the cross?

These and other points will be discussed in part two of this four part series seeking to learn
about the slandered and oppressed Prophet and Messenger of Allah `Issa bin Marium.

The Life & Near Death of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)

The greatest crime committed by humanity is, was and will always be straying from the Light
of Tawheed (Singling out only Allah in all acts of worship, big or small) and entering into the
darkness of Shirk (joining others with Allah in an act of worship). Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)
says:

"And remember when Luqman said to his son when he was advising him: `O My
Son! Join not in worship others with Allah. Verily! Joining others in worship with
Allah is a great (greatest) Zulm (wrong).'" Luqman 31:13

We also see that someone asked the Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam), "Which is the
biggest sin in the consideration of Allah?" He (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said, "That you set
up a rival (in worship) to Allah though He Alone created you." Saheeh al-Bukhari.

Therefore it is perplexing for a person who believes in the one true God (Allah), to understand
how others can venerate and worship anything but Him (subhanahu wa ta`ala)?

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"And they say: `The Most Gracious (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or
children).' Indeed you have brought forth (said) a most terrible, evil thing.
Whereby the heavens are almost torn, and the earth is split asunder, and the
mountains fall in ruins, that they ascribe a son (or offspring) to the Most
Gracious!

But it is not befitting (the Majesty) of the Most Gracious (Allah) that He should
beget a son (or offspring). There is none in the heavens and the earth but comes
unto the Most Gracious as a slave." Marium (19:88-93)

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"No son (or offspring or children) did Allah beget, nor is there any god along
with Him. (If there had been other gods or rivals or sons), behold, each god
would have taken away what he had created, and some (gods) would have tried
to overcome other (gods)! Glorified is Allah above all that they attribute to Him!"
Al-Mu'minoon 23:91

So what happened to those who claim they love, follow and adhere to `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)?

We must look to three main verses from the Quran.

Allah says:

"And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us
(Allah)." Marium 19:21

Allah says:

"Then when `Issa came to know of their disbelief..." Ali-`Imran 3:52

Allah says:

"...they killed him (`Issa) not. But Allah raised him (`Issa) up to Himself)..."

In understanding these three verses and the points they address we will learn the truth about
`Issa's (`alihi as-Salaam) life and near death.

"And (We wish) to appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us
(Allah)." Marium 19:21

We have already discussed the miraculous Immaculate Conception and the birth of this
blessed Prophet and Messenger of Allah. We know turn our attention to the next stage in his
life. His fulfillment of the mission that he (`alihi as-Salaam) was commissioned by Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) to fulfill.

We continue from where we left off in the second installment of this four part series.

Owing the delicate and confusing nature of this great occurrence, Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)
records the story of `Issa's (`alihi as-Salaam) life and times in the Quran with precision and
point by point detail. To gain full benefit and strengthen our grasp of this great happening we
will at times insert explanatory words and arguments (derived from the Tafseer of the Rabbani
Scholars) in the midst of the verses (in Italics).

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 19

Allah describes to us in Surat Marium (19:26-36) what happened soon after Marium gave birth
to the child.

"(`Issa her infant son or Jibreel said) And if you see any human being say I
have vowed a fast unto the Most Gracious (Allah) so I shall not speak to any
human being this day.'

Then she brought him (the baby `Issa) to her people, carrying him.

They said, `O Marium! Indeed you have brought a Fariya (unprecedented,

unheard of mighty thing (crime)). O sister (who is the likes of) Haroon (a pious
man)! Your father was not a man who used to commit adultery, nor your
mother was an unchaste woman!'

[It is important to note that the mistake of a person from a good family is always
perceived in a different and more intolerable light than the mistake and sin of a person
from a sinful home and immoral upbringing. The people automatically noted that your
father and mother were pious and that they knew her as being one of piety and
knowledge. What has caused you to fall into this (perceived) great sin?

Marium is also compared to a pious man named Haroon (Aaron) who is not to be
confused with the Prophet of Allah Haroon (`alihi as-Salaam), the brother of Musa (`alihi
as-Salaam). This shows that comparison with the righteous is valid and at times called
for.]

She (Marium) pointed to him (`Issa). They said, `How can we speak to a one
who is a child in a cradle?' [`Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) was not unique in this action.
There were three children who spoke while still at an age when speaking would be deemed
unnatural. Refer to Saheeh al-Bukhari Vol 4, Hadeeth # 645, which is narrated by Abu
Hurira radhiallahu `anhu. You may also benefit from Surati Ali-`Imran (3:46) where you
can see the angels professing to Marium that her child will speak at a young age.]

He (`Issa) said: `Verily, I am a slave of Allah! He has given me the Scripture

and made me a Prophet. [I am a slave of Allah is the most complete description that
He (`alihi as-Salaam) described himself with. In those words he is indirectly stating that I
speak to you in this miraculous way only because Allah my Lord as granted me this
ability. It sets the precedent for the rest of his life, works of Prophetic actions and
miraculous deeds as solely granted to him by his One and Only Lord, Allah (subhanahu
wa ta`ala).

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 20

It is also stated in the books of Tafseer that `Issa was born knowing the Torah and the
laws of the Jews from infancy. It is also stated that at age five he taught the Torah in the
Temples and to the Masses.]

Allah made me a Prophet. I did not choose it or ascribe it to myself. And He

(Allah) made me blessed wherever I be, and has enjoined on me Salaah and
Zakaah, as long as I live. [The blessings of `Issa was his knowledge and the ability to
cure those whom Allah allowed him to cure.]

And to be dutiful to my mother, and made me not arrogant, unblest. [This

shows the importance of being good to ones parents. It is put at the level of prayer and
alms.]

And Salaam (peace) be upon me the day I was born, and the day I die, and the
day I shall be raised alive!' [A single day of birth, a single day of death and a single
day to be resurrected on the Final Day of Reckoning and Judgment.] Such is `Issa, son
of Marium. (It is) a statement of truth, about which they doubt (or dispute).

It befits not (the Majesty of) Allah that He should beget a son. Glorified (and
Exalted be He above all that they associate with Him). When He (Allah)
decrees a thing, He only says to it, `Be!' – and it is. It is interesting to note that
by Allah Willing a decree, the decree is instituted even before the order is
Commanded. He only says to it, `Be!' – and it is. [This shows that the it comes into
existence before being ordered to become.]

(`Issa said), `And verily Allah is my Lord and your Lord. So worship Him
(Alone). That is the straight path (Submitting yourselves to Him alone).'"
Marium (19:26-36)

This first miraculous happening was one of many to be worked by `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) by
the Will of Allah. The scholars state that every Prophet and Messenger was sent with the type
of evidence, signs, and proofs that their respective nations would respond to. During the time
of Musa (`alihi as-Salaam), magic and illusions were widespread and falsely attributed to false
deities. So Allah sent Musa with what would eclipse Pharaoh's magicians. During the time of
`Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) curing the ill was seen as a divine power. Allah therefore sent `Issa and
granted him unique abilities.

Allah will remind `Issa of these abilities on the Day of Judgment as Allah describes them to us
in Suratil Ma'idah (5:110-115):

"(Remember) when Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection), `O `Issa son of
Marium! Remember My Favour to you and to your mother when I supported
you with Ruh ul-Qudus (Jibreel) so that you spoke to the people in the (from
the) cradle (at a young age) and (while) in maturity. [Jibreel aided you in ordering
the people to work good deeds and to submit themselves to Allah while staying away from
evil deeds throughout the whole of your time with them (people).]

And when I taught you writing, al-Hikmah (the power of reasoning, logic,
understanding. Putting everything in its proper place at the proper time for the
proper reason), and the Torah and the Injeel (Gospel). [Allah granted `Issa all of
these intellectual capabilities from his inception as some of the people of Tafseer have
stated. We do not establish this claim as truth, nor do we deny it as falsehood.]

And when you made out of clay, as it were, the figure of a bird, by My
Permission, and you breathed into it, and it became a bird by My Permission.
And you healed those who were born blind (not just those who happened to
have lost their sight), the lepers by My Permission.

And when you brought forth the dead by My Permission. And when I
restrained the Children of Israel from you (when they resolved to kill you)
since you came unto them with clear proofs, and the disbelievers among them
said, `This is nothing but evident magic.' [This was the greatest miracle granted by
Allah to `Issa. We will shortly begin discussing the intricacies of how `Issa was saved
from the Jews and the Romans. This ayah also shows that those who sought the death of
`Issa were the Jews and not the Romans per-say. The ayah also shows that there were
Jews who believed (Hawarieen or Disciples) and those who disbelieved.]

And when I (Allah) put in the hearts of al-Hawarieen (the Disciples of `Issa) to
believe in Me and My Messenger (you O `Issa), they said: `We believe. And
bear witness that we are Muslims.' [This ayah shows clearly that Allah places
guidance in the hearts of individuals. There were many that rejected the truth although
they also witnessed the aforementioned miraculous occurrences. Guidance is solely from
Allah, as is the misguidance of those whom were destined to reject the truth and Light of
Tawheed.]

(Remember) when the disciples said: `O `Issa, son of Marium! Is your Lord
able to send down to us a table spread (with food) from heaven?' `Issa said,
`Fear Allah, if you are indeed believers!' [Although they had seen clay birds being
brought to life, the blind and lepers alleviated of their illness, the raising of the dead and
many other miracles, they still say, "Is your Lord able!" The syntax of their question
implies that if your Lord does not furnish us this table spread then He is UNABLE, not
unwilling!]

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 22

They said, `We wish to eat thereof and to be stronger in Faith, and to know
that you have indeed told us the truth and that we ourselves be its witnesses.'
[Once again the weakness of their faith is apparent. The syntax in their statement
indirectly implies that if you have told us the truth and you really are a Prophet and a
Messenger then your Lord will bring down the table spread that we request. Otherwise
you have not spoken the truth. They admit that their faith is weak. `Issa (`alihi as-
Salaam) therefore invokes Allah for the table spread.]

`Issa, son of Marium, said, `O Allah, Our Lord! Send us from Heaven a table
spread (with food) that there may be for us – for the first and the last of us – a
festival and a sign from You; and provide us Sustenance, for You are the Best
to Sustain.'

[The request although seemingly simple enough in comparison with the other miracles
performed by `Issa is of a different nature. The request of the Disciples is a challenge to
Allah.

Sufyan ath-Thawri (rahimahullah) states: A day of festivity means a day that we can
mark with your worship.

Salman al-Farisi radhiallahu `anhu said: A day for us to mark by remembering you.
Allah said, `I am going to send it down unto you, but if any of you after that disbelieves,
then I will punish him a torment such as I have not inflicted on anyone among (all) the
`Alamin (all that exist, mankind and Jinn).'

`Abullah bin `Amr bin al `Aws radhiallahu `anhu states: "The three most punished
peoples on the Day of Ressurrection shall be: The Hypocrites (at time of Rasool ul Allah),
those who disbelieved after the Table spread was brought down, and Pharaoh and his
legions.] Al-Ma'idah (5:110-115)

These verses represent a few of the abilities given to `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) by Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala).

Yet, in the midst of all of this we see that Allah says:

"Then when `Issa came to know of their disbelief..." Ali-`Imran 3:52'

How can there be disbelief after all of these signs and proofs of Prophethood?

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 23

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says in Surati ali-`Imran (3:49-54):

"And (Allah) will make him (`Issa) a Messenger to the Children of Israel (saying
to them): `I have come to you with a sing from your Lord, that I design for you
out of clay a bird, as if it were a bird and breathe into it, and it becomes a bird by
Allah's Leave. And I heal him who was born blind, and the leper, and I bring the
dead to life by Allah's Leave. And I inform you of what you eat, and what you
store in your houses. Surely therein is a sign for you, if you believe.

And I have come confirming that which was before me of the Torah, and to make
lawful to you part of what was forbidden to you, and I have come to you with a
proof from your Lord. So fear Allah and obey me.

Truly! Allah is my Lord and your Lord, so worship Him (Allah alone). This is the
Straight Path.

Then when `Issa (Jesus) came to know of their disbelief, he said, `who will be my
helpers in Allah's Cause?' The Disciples said, `We are the helpers of Allah; we
believe in Allah, and bear witness that we are Muslims.'

And they (the disbelievers from the Jews and Romans) plotted (to kill `Issa), and
Allah Planned too. And Allah is the Best of Planners." Surat ali-`Imran (3:49-54)

The plots of the Jews and Romans began to take form and Allah planned on saving `Issa (`alihi
as-Salaam) and making him a sign and a test for mankind. In fact Jibreel informed Marium
before she carried her child,

He (Jibreel) said: "So (it will be that you will carry a child without any male
intervention), your Lord has said, `That is easy for Me (Allah)! And (We wish) to
appoint him as a sign to mankind and a mercy from Us (Allah), and it is a matter
already decreed.'"

`Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) was chosen to be a sign to mankind of Allah's Power and ability. He
(`alihi as-Salaam) was also chosen to be a sign and an indicator of the nearness of the Day of
Resurrection.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) in His infinite Wisdom and Knowledge saved `Issa from the
clutches of the Jews and the pagan Romans, promising to return him as a savior of Humanity
and a leader of the people of Tawheed and Sunnah.

"...they killed him (`Issa) not. But Allah raised him (`Issa) up to Himself)..."

Of the greatest issues separating Christians from Muslims is the falsely claimed Crucifixion of
`Issa son of Marium (`alihi as-Salaam). Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) therefore describes to us in
the Quran what truly transpired and took place on the fateful day that the Jews and Romans
attempted to extinguish yet another Prophet and Messenger of Allah. Allah (subhanahu wa
ta`ala) states in Surati Ali-`Imran (3:54-58):

"And they (the disbelievers from the Jews and Romans) plotted (to kill `Issa),
and Allah Planned too. And Allah is the Best of Planners. And (remember)
when Allah said: `O `Issa! I will take you (Mutawaafeek) and raise you to
Myself and clear you (of the forged statements) of those who disbelieve, and I
will make those who follow you (Monotheists) superior to those who
disbelieve (in the Oneness of Allah) till the day of Resurrection. Then you will
return to Me and I will Judge between you in the matters in which you used to
dispute.'"

[The word Mutawafeek is important in understanding this verse in the light of the
Quran and Sunnah. Although this word is synonymous with dying or death, here the
word is to be literally translated as meaning to be placed in a state of Minor death. Each
and every night you and I experience this when we enter into sleep. The intended
meaning can be deduced from the following verses in the Quran that uses the exact same
root word.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"It is Allah Who takes the souls (Yatawafa) at the time of their death, and those that die
not during their sleep. He keeps those (souls) for which He has ordained death and sends
the rest for a term appointed. Verily, in this are signs for a people who think deeply." Az-
Zummar 39:42

Allah says:

"It is He (Allah) who takes your souls (Yatawafaakum) by night (when you are asleep),
and has knowledge of all that you have done by day, then he raises you (gives you ability
to wake) up again so that a term appointed (your life period) is to be fulfilled. Then in the
end unto Him will be your return. Then He will inform you what you used to do." Al-
An`aam (6:60)

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 25

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) also taught us to say when we wake in the
morning: "All praise be to Allah who has given me Life after death (minor death = sleep).
And to Him is our Resurrection." Reported by Al-Bukhari

From this we see that `Issa was raised physically while in a state of sleep to Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) who is Established Above His Throne in the manner that Befits
His Majesty and Honor.] Surati Ali-`Imran (3:54, 55)

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) also states in Surati Nisa (4:157, 158):

"And because of their (the Jews) disbelief and uttering against Marium a grave
false charge (that she has committed illegal sexual intercourse); And because of
their (the Jews) saying (in boast), `We killed the Messiah `Issa, son of Marium,
the Messenger of Allah (they say this in mockery),' – but they killed him not, nor
crucify him, but the resemblance of a `Issa was put over another man (and they
killed that man). And (surely) those who differ therein are full of doubts
(amongst themselves). They have no (certain) knowledge, they follow nothing
but conjecture (speculation). For surely they killed him not.

But Allah raised him (Rafa`ahu) up (`Issa's body and soul together) unto Himself.
And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise."

Ibn Abi Hatim, Al-Imam an-Nasaa'i and others report with authentic chains of narration, as
deemed by Ibn Kathir, that Ibn `Abbas (radhiallahu `anhu) said regarding these verses:

"'Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) came out one day to the disciples with his head dripping
water. He (`alihi as-Salaam) said to them, "Who of you volunteers to have my
likeness placed upon him, be crucified in my place and in so doing earn a place
beside me in al-Jannah (Paradise)?" The youngest of the disciples stood up first
and with conviction volunteering for this task. `Issa instructed him to sit down
and did not accept his offering of himself. `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) repeated the
offer three times and all three times the youngest of the disciples was the first to
volunteer. `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) said, "You are the one for this!" Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) then placed the likeness of `Issa upon this young man and
raised `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) through the roof of the home up into the heavens
while he was in a state of sleep (Sinaatan min al-Naoum). The Jews entered upon
the disciples and took the young man and crucified him."

That is the truth of the matter as it is established in the untarnished words of Allah and the
Purifying Sunnah of His Messenger Muhammed (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam). This is what all
Muslims must establish as being the truth with complete certainty and acceptance.

The Inevitable Return of `Issa

to Slay the Dajjal (One-eyed Liar or the Anti-Christ)
and Lead the Muslim Nation

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"But Allah raised him (Rafa`ahu) up (`Issa's body and soul together) unto
Himself. And Allah is Ever All-Powerful, All-Wise. And there is none of the
people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), but must believe in him
(eventually believe that `Issa was only a Messenger of Allah and a mere mortal
lacking divinity), before his death. [Before his death has two interpretations
according to the opinions of the scholars. Some state that before `Issa's (`alihi as-Salaam)
death after he descends from the heavens all will come to know of the truth of his matter.
The others contend that before a Jew or a Christian's death as they are passing into the
next life, they will realize that `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) was a Messenger of Allah with no
divinity. Both interpretations are valid. Before the descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) from
the heavens the second opinion is most proper and accepted.]

And on the Day of Resurrection, he (`Issa) will be a witness against them

(those who died in disbelief)." An-Nisa 4:159

Abu Huraira (radhiallahu `anhu) reports that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam)
said: "By Him in Whose Hand my soul is (Allah), surely (`Issa) the Son of Marium shall
descend amongst you (Muslims) and will judge mankind justly, by the law of the Quran (as a
just ruler). He (`alihi as-Salaam) will break the cross and exterminate swine and there will be
not accept the Jizya (a tax imposed on non-Muslims who keep their religion rather than enter
into Islam). Money will be in abundance so that nobody will accept it (from another). (During
this time) a single prostration to Allah will be better than the whole world and what is in it."
Abu Huriara (radhiallahu `anhu) added: "If you wish, you can recite (this previously
mentioned verse from An-Nisa 4:159). Reported by Bukhari.

This hadeeth is a fitting introduction to our fourth and final part of our series discussing `Issa
bin Marium (`alihi as-Salaam).

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 28

We previously learned that `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) was not murdered. Rather Allah
(subhanahu wa ta`ala) saved him and raised him unto Himself (subhanahu wa ta`ala).

Immediately after informing us that He (subhanahu wa ta`ala) saved `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam),
Allah confirms to us that he will make `Issa a sign to the People of the Scriptures. It is an
indirect promise that he (`alihi as-Salaam) will return once again to live and eventually die in
this worldly life. This indirect promise becomes explicitly clear from the preceding Saheeh
hadeeth. In fact, we will soon learn that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam)
prophesied in many narrations the advent and descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam).

Let us now look towards the future, rather than the past, as we have been doing. All of what
has been discussed is from the matters of Ghaib (unseen and unknown). It makes no difference
if the events have transpired or if we await them. Since our sources are only and solely from
the authentic textual evidences (Quran and Sunnah) we feel confident and have certainty in the
narrations of the past and prophecies of the future.

We therefore begin by analyzing four main points:

 The Wisdom behind the Advent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam).

 Ad-Dajjal: The Greatest Calamity to befall mankind.
 The Descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam).
 Life after the Descent of `Issa.

Some may ask, "Why? Why did Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) Will all of this to happen?"

The simple, concise answer is found in Suratil Anbiya' (21:23). Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala)
says:

"He cannot be questioned as to what He does, while they will be questioned

(about what they do)." Al-Anbiya' (21:23)

The Divine wisdom is not subject to questioning or rationalization. The ability to logically
rationalize and grasp concepts is not the standard to be used when discussing matters of Ghaib
(Unseen) and Qada' and Qadar (preordainment and Predestination).

In fact, if we were to use the logic and rational of those who pre-dated us by a mere one
hundred years, we would join them in belying the claim that man will take to the skies. We
certainly would never accept the notion that man would reach the moon. Rational and logical
acceptance is very relative and subjective. It is highly biased by ones personal experiences and

From a 4-part lecture by Yahya Adel Ibrahim Visit AlHidaayah.Net for More Books!
Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 29

socialization. As such, there are still many people living today who would not be able to
rationalize the fact that man has reached the moon.

As well, there are those who have the ability to think critically and rationalize many
complicated concepts yet they defend illogical and sinful practices. A brain surgeon who
believes in the validity of sanctifying his home and office with cow urine and dung because of
his illogical belief in Hinduism is less logical and rational than an illiterate Bedouin who
submits himself to the One true Rabb.

The Wisdom behind the Advent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)

So when we speak of the wisdom behind the advent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam), it is what we
(the scholars) of Islam have determined as being some of the outcomes of the Return of `Issa
(`alihi as-Salaam) and not the Divine Wisdom of the matter itself. Only Allah (subhanahu wa
ta`ala) encompasses that knowledge.

Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) reminds us in Surati TaHa (20:110):

"He (Allah) knows what happens to them (His Creatures) in this world, and
what will happen to them (in the Hereafter), and they will never compass
anything of His Knowledge." TaHa (20:110)

The scholars have shown that the descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) will fulfill a great many
purposes.

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will dispel the claim that he was crucified and murdered. He will be
living proof that those who claimed his death are and were in misguidance.

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will be a source of clear proof that he was not God, or the Son of God, or
that God is a Trinity. He will dispel their fabrications and vanquish their deviant claims.

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will state and make known that Muhammad (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) was Rasool ul Allah.

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will bring an end to the reign of the Dajjal and his legions.

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will lead the Muslim nation during the great tribulation of Ya'jooj and
Ma'jooj (Gog and Magog).

He (`alihi as-Salaam) will be of the final signs that the Day of Judgment is at hand.

Those are a few of the outcomes from the advent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam). This is not an
exhaustive list, but it covers the main points that the scholars have agree upon.

Ad-Dajjal: The Greatest Calamity to befall mankind

The descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) will be a world changing event. `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)
will descend to save humanity from disbelief and the Dajjal (the caller to disbelief during that
period in time). It is important to set the setting of the descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) to fully
appreciate the importance of this great event. As you have by now become accustomed, we
will only discuss the matters of Ghaib from the authentically proven sources. From here on in,
our words will be a premium used solely to guide us through the numerous verses and
hadeeth that are to follow.

To begin understanding who this person is, it is important to focus on a few main points:

 Deciphering the meaning of his name

 Life before his emergence
 What does the Dajjal look like?
 What powers will Allah give the Dajjal as a Fitnah for Mankind?

Deciphering the meaning of his name

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) named him: Al-Maseeh ad-Dajjal.

Ibn al-Atheer in Jami` al-Usool (4/204) states: "The Dajjal was described as Maseeh
(extinguished, wiped out) because one of his eyes is extinguished or put out. Al-Maseeh
denotes that one side of the face is wiped out (disfigured). It is associated with those missing
an eye and an eyebrow (on one side of their face)."

From a 4-part lecture by Yahya Adel Ibrahim Visit AlHidaayah.Net for More Books!
Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 31

He later goes on to show the linguistic difference between al-Maseeh (Messiah) `Issa bin
Marium (`alihi as-Salaam) and al-Maseeh ad-Dajjal. He states that: "The word al-Maseeh for al-
Dajjal is used to denote an act that is acted upon HIM (meaning that the Dajjal had HIS eye
wiped out), while al-Maseeh for `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) is used to denote an act that HE (`alihi
as-Salaam) performs on OTHERS. This name was given to `Issa because he would wipe over
(Yamsaah) the afflicted and Allah would give them health."

The word Dajjal according to ibn al-Atheer (rahimahullah) means a liar.

Ibn Hajr (rahimahullah) in Fath ul Bari (Vol. 11/ pg. 91) takes it a step further and thus clarifies
it more by saying: "(He is named) ad-Dajjal because he covers up truth with his falsehood."

Others state that the Dajjal covers up truth with lies.

All can agree that the al-Maseeh ad-Dajjal can be described as the one-eyed liar.

Life before his emergence

The Muslim Ummah will regain its strength. The weakness that we see today will disappear. It
will return to its former splendor. That means that the Muslim Ummah will return to Allah
and be His obedient slaves and thus earn Divine Victory. All of this is promised to us by
Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam). One of these inspiring and Prophesying hadeeth
is reported by An-Nu`man bin Basheer radhiallahu `anhu.

He radhiallahu `anhu reports that Hudhaifa radhiallahu `anhu reported that Rasool ul Allah
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Prophethood shall remain with you as long as Allah Wills it. Then it shall be
raised by Allah (His death sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) when He Wills to raise it.
Then Khilafah upon the Manhaj (methodology and way of) Prophethood shall
remain with you as long as Allah Wills it. Then it shall be raised by Allah when
He Wills to raise it. Then there shall be kingship (inherited generation after
generation) which shall remain with you as long as Allah Wills it. Then it shall be
raised by Allah when He Wills to raise it. Then there shall be tyrannical
governing which shall remain with you as long as Allah Wills it. Then it shall be
raised by Allah when He Wills to raise it. Then there shall be Khilafah (once
again) upon the Manhaj of Prophethood. Then he remained silent (meaning the
end of time)."

The hadeeth is Saheeh and is reported by Imam Ahmed and others (See detailed discussions in
my upcoming translation of two of Sh. Saleem bin `Eid al-Hilali's books: 1. The Clear Evidence:
Explaining the Manhaj of the Salaf, and, 2. Why I have chosen the Manhaj of the Salaf.)

We see that the oppressive situation that which we reside in shall surely be alleviated by Allah.
The Ummah will regain its strength near the end of time. In the midst of the Muslims strength
and power the Dajjal shall emerge.

Abi Ummamah radhiallahu `anhu reports that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam)
said:

"O Mankind! Surely there will be no greater Fitnah (trial, tribulation, Calamity)
on the face of the Earth from the day Adam (`alihi as-Salaam) was sent down (till
end of time) that is more in magnitude than the Fitnah of the Dajjal. Verily, Allah
`Azz wa Jal has not sent a Prophet to a people (except that that Prophet would)
warn his Ummah of the Dajjal. Surely, I (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) am the
final Prophet, and you are the last Ummah. He shall surely emerge in your
midst, no doubt about it.

Preceding the emergence of the Dajjal there shall be three harsh years. Mankind
will be afflicted with severe hunger. The first of those years Allah shall order the
skies to withhold a third of the normal amount of rain. (As well) Allah shall
order the earth to withhold a third of the normal amount of vegetation. During
the second of those years Allah shall order the skies to withhold another third of
the normal amount of rain. (As well) Allah shall order the earth to withhold
another third of the normal amount of vegetation. In the final year (before the
Dajjal emerges) Allah shall order the skies to withhold all their rain. It will be
such that not a single drop of rain descends. (As well) Allah shall order the earth
to withhold all of its vegetation. It will be such that no vegetation will be
present."

Some (of the Sahaaba radhiallahu `anhum) said: "What will sustain the people
during those days?" He (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) replied, "Tahleel (la illah
illa Allah), Takbeer (Allahu Akbar), and at-Tahmeed (Alhamdulillah) shall be
their nourishment when food is not found." Reported by Ibn Majah, Ibn
Khuzaimah and al-Hakim. It is deemed authentic by ash-Shaykh al-Albani (rh) in
Saheeh al-Jami`.

Therefore it is pertinent that we recognize who this individual is so that his lies and treachery
do not deceive us. The Dajjal will be given special powers, as you will soon see that will

alleviate drought and hunger. Therefore, only the truly faithful shall maintain their
steadfastness and belief in Allah.

What does the Dajjal look like?

`Imran bin Haseen radhiallahu `anhu reports that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) said:

"The one who hears of the Dajjal (emerging), let him flee from him. By Allah a
man may come to (face) him thinking that he is strong in faith, (but fall victim to
his powers) and follow him due to the doubt building powers (begin to doubt
Allah is the Lord and believe in Dajjal) that he will be sent with." Reported by
Abi Dawoud with a Saheeh chain of narration.

So how can we recognize the Dajjal? Is he a human being and what does he look like?

`Ubaada bin al-Saamit radhiallahu `anhu reports that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) said:

"Al-Maseeh ad-Dajjal is a short, bow legged man. He has curly hair and is one-
eyed. One of his eyes is extinguished. If you are not sure whether it is him or not
then know that your Lord is not one-eyed and that you can never look upon your
Lord (in the Worldly life)." Reported by Abi Dawoud and Imam Ahmed with a
Saheeh chain of narration. It is deemed authentic by Sh. Al-Albani
(rahimahullah) in Saheeh al-Jami`.

In another authentic (saheeh) hadeeth, Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) is

reported to have said:

"He (the Dajjal) is a white man with reddish complexion. He is obese and has
curly thick hair. His right eye is useless (to him) and appears to resemble a grape.
Reported by Al-Bukhari

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) also described the Dajjal by saying: "The Dajjal
has a green eye (his good left eye is green in colour)." Reported by Imam Ahmed and Abu
Nu`aim and it is authenticated by Sh. Al-Albani in as-Silsilah.

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 34

Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) also described him as is narrated by Imam
Muslim that he (the Dajjal) is youthful (under 40 years old as some commentators have
explained).

The greatest distinguishing feature of the Dajjal is the word Kafir (Disbeliever) embedded
upon his forehead. Al-Imam Bukhari, Muslim, Ibn Khuzayimah, Ibn Majah and Al-Hakim
report the Hadeeth of Abi Ummaamah radhiallahu `anhu wherein he narrates that Rasool ul
Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Verily, Allah `Azz wa Jal has not sent a Prophet to a people (except that that
Prophet would) warn his Ummah of the one-eyed liar. Know for certain that he
is one-eyed and that your Rabb is not one-eyed. (Know that) surely, written
between (upon his forehead) his eyes is (the word) Kafir."

In the narration of Imam Muslim he (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"(Know that) surely, written between (upon his forehead) his eyes (are the
letters) Kaa faa Raa (spelling out the letters)."

In the narration of the others he (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"(Know that) surely, written between (upon his forehead) his eyes is (the word)
Kafir. It will be read (apparent) to every believer whether he (/she) can read or
not."

The preceding authentic hadeeth establish that the words on the forehead are real and not
figurative in meaning. They will be embedded on his forehead and clearly displayed for all the
BELIEVERS to read. Here it is important to see that the Rasool (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam)
mentions the believers and not the Muslim Ummah in its entirety.

Imam an-Nawawi in his explanation of the hadeeth of Saheeh Muslim discusses this in great
detail and concludes that the word will be real and apparent and set as a sign of guidance from
Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) to His humble slaves.

Imam Muslim also reports that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "(The Dajjal)
cannot procreate and will have no children fathered by him."

The Dajjal shall first appear in Kharasan (or what are now present day Iran and the Persian
region. This is reported with authenticity by at-Tirmithi, Ibn Majah, al-Hakim, Ahmed and Sh.
Al-Albani (rahimahullah) deems it Saheeh.

What powers will Allah give the Dajjal as a Fitnah for Mankind?

Speed of Travel and Lands he will visit:

Bukhari and Muslim radhiallahu `anhu report on the authority of Anas radhiallahu `anhu that
Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "No country will not be visited by the
Dajjal, except Makkah and Medina."

In the authentic hadeeth of Abi Ummaamah radhiallahu `anhu that is collected by Ibn
Khuzayimah, Ibn Majah and Al-Hakim we see that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) said: "No place on earth will not be visited and conquered by the Dajjal, except
Makkah and Medina. Every time he approaches its limits an angel with a drawn sword blocks
his way."

A Garden and a River of Fire:

The Dajjal shall have with him a garden that is seemingly everlasting and beautiful and a river
of Fire that is seemingly scorching.

In the hadeeth of Hudhaifah radhiallahu `anhu, which is collected by Imam Muslim, Rasool ul
Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"Surely, I have more knowledge of that which the Dajjal possess, than he knows
of himself. He has two running rivers (that follow him). One of them is
seemingly fresh, clear (and cool) water. The other is outwardly a river of
smoldering fire. If any of you should find himself confronted by them, then
approach the one that appears to be fire. Close your eyes, tilt your head and
drink from it, for it is cool water."

His control of the devils (shayateen)

In the hadeeth of Abi Ummaamah radhiallahu `anhu which is collected with authentic chains
of narration in the books of Ibn Khuzyimah, Ibn Majah, and al-Hakim, Rasool ul Allah
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"And from his (the Dajjal) Fitnah is that he will say to a simple man (Bedouin), `If
I was to resurrect your father and mother (from their graves) would you testify
that I am your Lord?' The man shall reply, `Yes.' Shayteen (devils) will take the
form of his father and mother saying to him, `O Son! Follow him, for he is your
Lord!'

His ability to control inanimate objects and vegetation:

Imam Muslim reports that an-Nawaas bin Sam`aan radhiallahu `anhu states that an-Nabi
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: "He would come to the people and invite them (to a wrong
religion) and they would affirm their faith in him and respond to him. He would then give
command to the sky and there would be rainfall upon the earth and it would grow crops. Then
in the evening, their posturing animals would come to them with their humps very high and
their udders full of milk and their flanks stretched. He would then come to another people and
invite them. But they would reject him and he would go away from them and there would be
drought for them and nothing would be left with them in the form of wealth. He would then
walk through the waste, land and say to it: `Bring forth your treasures, and the treasures
would come out and collect (themselves) before him like the swarm of male bees.'"

Murdering a man and bringing him back to life:

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) as saying:

"The Dajjal would come forth and a person from amongst the believers would go
towards him and the armed men of the Dajjal would meet him and they would
say to him: `Where do you intend to go?' He would say: `I intend to go to this
one who is coming forth.' They would say to him: `Don't you believe in our
Lord?' He would say: `There is nothing hidden about our Lord.' They would say:
`Kill him.' Then some amongst them would say: `Has your master (Dajjal) not
forbidden you to kill anyone without (his consent)?'

And so they would take him to the Dajjal and when the believer would see him,
he would say: `O people. He is the Dajjal about whom Allah's Messenger
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) has informed (us).'

The Dajjal would then order for breaking his head and utter (these words):
`Catch hold of him and break his head.' He would be struck even on his back and
on his stomach. Then the Dajjal would ask him: `Don't you believe in me?' He
would say: `You are a false Maseeh.'

He would then order him to be torn (into pieces) with a saw from the parting of
his hair up to his legs. After that the Dajjal would walk between the two pieces.
He would then say to him: ‘Stand,’ and he would stand erect. He would then say
to him: `Don't you believe in me?'

And the person would say: `It has only added to my insight concerning you (that
you are really the Dajjal).'

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 37

He would then say: `O people, he would not behave with anyone amongst
people (in such a manner) after me.' The Dajjal would try to catch hold of him so
that he should kill him (again). The space between his neck and collarbone
would be turned into copper and he would find no means to kill him. So he
would catch hold of him by his hand and feet and throw him (into the air) and
the people would think as if he had been thrown in the Hell-Fire whereas he
would be thrown in Paradise.

Thereupon Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said: He would be

the most eminent amongst persons in regard to martyrdom in the eye of the Lord
of the world. Reported by Imam Muslim.

His length of reign upon the Earth

Imam Muslim reports that an-Nawaas bin Sam`aan radhiallahu `anhu states that an-Nabi
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"We said: `O Allah's Messenger, how long would he stay on the earth?' He
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) replied, `For forty days, one day like a year and
one day like a month and one day like a week and the rest of the days would be
like your days.'

We said: `O Allah's Messenger, would one day's prayer suffice for the prayers of
day equal to one year?'

Thereupon he said: `No, but you must make an estimate of time (and then
observe prayer).'"

This is quite significant in pointing out that the day will not seem like a year. It will in fact be
the length of a year. For further discussion turn to an-Nawawi's explanation of the hadeeth.
Science has shown that the earth's rotation is slowing down. In fact science has shown that the
earth at one time rotated in the opposite direction. Thus causing the sun to rise from the west
and set in the east. This has been shown in the magnetic recorders drilled and collected from
the mid-oceanic ridges around the world.

Who are his followers:

In the authentic hadeeth reported by Imam Ahmed, Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) said, "The majority of the Dajjal's followers are the Jews and women."

Imam Muslim reports that Anas bin Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (sallallahu `alayhi
wa sallam) said: `The Dajjal would be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing
Persian shawls.'

The Descent of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam)

With all of this commotion taking place, Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) shall send `Issa (`alihi as-
Salaam) to end the disturbance and tribulation. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) promised to make
`Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) a sign to mankind of His ability to Create and to make `Issa a sign
depicting the nearness of the Day of Judgment. Allah (subhanahu wa ta`ala) says:

"And he (`Issa) shall be a known sign for (the coming of the) Hour (the Day of
Judgment)." Az-Zukhruf 43:61

Imam Muslim reports that an-Nawaas bin Sam`aan radhiallahu `anhu states that an-Nabi
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"At this very time (when the Dajjal murdered the youth) that Allah would send
al-Maseeh, son of Mary, and he will descend at the white minaret in the eastern
side of Damascus wearing two garments lightly dyed with saffron and placing
his hands on the wings of two Angels. When he would lower his head, there
would fall beads of perspiration from his head, and when he would raise it up,
beads like pearls would scatter from it. Every non-believer who would smell the
odour of his self would die and his breath would reach as far as he would be able
to see. He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at
the gate of Ludd (now known as the City of Ramallah. The gate is near the
airport entrance) and would kill him. Then a people whom Allah had protected
would come to Jesus, son of Mary, and he would wipe their faces and would
inform them of their ranks in Paradise. "

Abi Dawoud reports with authentic chains of narration through the transmission of Abi
Huraira radhiallahu `anhu that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"There is no prophet between me and `Issa. He shall surely descend (once again).
Therefore recognize him when you see him. He is a tall man with a white and
reddish complexion. He shall descend wearing two slightly dyed garments. His
head will appear to be perspiring but it has no wetness upon it."

Learning The Truth About `Issa (Jesus) - 39

In the authentic hadeeth of Abi Ummaamah radhiallahu `anhu that is collected by Ibn
Khuzayimah, Ibn Majah and Al-Hakim we see that Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa
sallam) said:

"Their (Muslim Ummah's) Imam (leader of Muslim Army) shall be a righteous

man. As their Imam is readying to lead the morning (Fajr) prayer, `Issa (`alihi as-
Salaam) ibn Marium shall descend amongst them (in Damascus). Their Imam
shall seek to move back so that `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam) may lead the prayer. `Issa
shall place his hand between his (Imam's) shoulder and say: `Go forward and
lead the prayer for it was called for you to lead.'

(`Issa) shall then travel to Jerusalem (in pursuit of the Dajjal). He (`alihi as-
Salaam) shall enter and find the Muslim inhabitants under siege (by Dajjal and
Jews). He (`alihi as-Salaam) shall say to them, `Open the gates.' They shall open
the gates and find al-Maseeh ad-Dajjal facing them accompanied with seventy
thousand Jews with their swords (weapons) drawn.

When the Dajjal sees him (`alihi as-Salaam) he shall begin to dissolve the way
that salt dissolves in water. He (Dajjal) shall flee seeking to escape, but `Issa shall
catch up to him at the Gates of Ludd (City of Ramallah) and shall kill him there."

Life after the Descent of `Issa

The end of the Dajjal is not the end of Fitnah. Rather there soon exits upon humanity a nation
of murderous hordes. They out way humanity with the ratio of 999 to every one whom
believed.

Imam Muslim reports that an-Nawaas bin Sam`aan radhiallahu `anhu states that an-Nabi
(sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"And it would be under such conditions (after death of Dajjal) that Allah would
reveal to Jesus these words: `I have brought forth from amongst My servants
such people against whom none would be able to fight; you take these people
(believers) safely to (the Mount) Tur.'

And then Allah would send Gog and Magog and they would swarm down from
every slope. The first of them would pass the lake of Tibrus (or what is called the
Sea of Galilee in present-day Palestine) and drink out of it. And when the last of
them would pass, he would

say: `There was once water there.'

Jesus and his companions would then be besieged here (at Tur, and they would
be so much hard pressed) that the head of the ox would be dearer to them than
one hundred dinar.

And Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would supplicate Allah, Who
would send upon them (Ya'jooj wa Ma'jooj) insects (which would attack their
necks) and in the morning they would perish like one single person. Allah's
Apostle, Jesus, and his companions would then come down to the earth and they
would not find in the earth as much space as a single span which is not filled
with their putrefaction and stench. Allah's Apostle, Jesus, and his companions
would then again beseech Allah, Who would send birds whose necks would be
like those of camels and they would carry them and throw them where God
would will. Then Allah would send rain which no house of clay or (the tent of)
camels' hairs would keep out and it would wash away the earth until it could
appear to be a mirror.

Then the earth would be told to bring forth its fruit and restore its blessing and,
as a result thereof, there would grow (such a big) pomegranate that a group of
persons would be able to eat that, and seek shelter under its skin.

A cow would give so much milk that a whole party would be able to drink it.
And the camel would give such (a large quantity of) milk that the whole tribe
would be able to drink out of that.

And the sheep would give so much milks that the whole family would be able to
drink out of that.

At that time, Allah would send a pleasant wind, which would soothe (people),
even under their armpits, and would take the life of every Muslim and only the
wicked would survive who would commit adultery like asses and the Last Hour
would come to them."

In an authentic hadeeth reported by Ad-Dailamee and deemed authentic by Sh. Al-Albani

(rahimahullah), Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"A good life it will be after (the descent of) al-Maseeh (`Issa). The sky will be
given leave to rain down, and the earth shall be given leave to grow vegetation.
(During that time) if you were to place a seed upon solid rock it would take root.
(During that time) a man will pass by a lion and it will not harm him. (During

that time) a man will (accidentally) step on or near a snake and it will not strike
him."

Abu Dawoud reporters in an authentic hadeeth that is authenticated by Sh. Al-Albani (rh) that
Rasool ul Allah (sallallahu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"(`Issa) shall remain (with the believers as their leader) for forty years. He will
then pass away and the believers will pray on him (Janazah)."

In other authentic narrations it is shown that `Issa will perform Hajj and wed and procreate
before his death.

This is the truth with certainty. During the past four discussions we have expounded upon the
basic knowledge that Muslims may already have with regards to the past and future existence
of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam). We covered the four main issues regarding `Issa bin Marium (`alihi
as-Salaam) that we as Muslims must have knowledge of:

 The Muslim Nation is more Worthy of `Issa than all the other nations.
 Who was Marium? And the Truth about the Immaculate Conception and the Birth of
`Isaa (`alihi as-Salaam).
 The Life and Near Death of `Issa (`alihi as-Salaam).
 The Inevitable Return of `Issa to Slay the Dajjal (One-eyed liar or the Anti-Christ) and
Lead the Muslim Nation.

I ask Allah to free our words and deeds from Riyaa' and to open our hearts to the truth.
