The history of Indo Rama in India dates back to 1989. Realising that polyester was going to be the
fibre of the future, the initial steps then taken by the company have today resulted in an undisputed
leadership position for it in the Indian polyester arena. Indo Rama Synthetics (India) Limited has been
a leading manufacturer and supplier in the countrys fast growing polyester sector since the last two
decades and is today Indias second largest dedicated polyester manufacturer having carved a niche in
the market place for its unmatched quality offerings. In polyesters, Indo Ramas product offering
includes Polyester Staple Fibre, Partially Oriented Yarn, Fully Drawn Yarn, Draw Texturized Yarn and
Polyester Chips.

Polyester Staple Fibre (PSF): Among all types of manufactured fibres, PSF has emerged as the
fastest growing fibre. These cut fibres have the unique capability of blending with natural fibres like
cotton and wool and also with synthetic fibres like rayon to produce polyester blended yarns on the
conventional cotton spinning machines. Fabrics made from polyester blended yarns combine the value
of natural fibres with high tenacity and easy care properties of polyester fibres.

Partially Oriented Yarn (POY): This filament yarn extruded from polymer is extremely fine and is
capable of texturising at high speeds. During its manufacturing, strict quality control along with
computer-controlled draw force testing ensures maximum consistency of yarn performance during and
after texturising. A special proprietary spin finish protects the colour and lubricity of the yarn over long
periods.

Fully Drawn Yarn (FDY): At Indo Rama, FDY produced at higher spinning speeds coupled with
intermediate drawing integrated in the process itself allows stabilisation through orientation and
crystallization. The intermingled FDY yarns are suitable for direct twisting, warping and weaving and
have excellent dyeing consistency. The fabric made from these yarns have a feel and drape similar to
fabrics produced from pure silk resulting in high realization of product quality.

Draw Texturised Yarn (DTY): This is a fully drawn, fully oriented polyester multifilament yarn with
soft crimp, high bulk and texture with cotton feel and very high durability and retention properties. It
is manufactured by texturising partially oriented yarn using texturising machines. Suitable for fabric
end uses like outer/inner garments, skin-clinging garments, furnishings, upholstery, etc. this is a
replacement of cotton and cotton blend yarns with very low moisture content.

Polyester Chips: Produced in a continuous polyester polymerisation plant, the chips have uniform
chemical and physical properties.

Devoted to manufacturing excellence

Success in the polyester industry lies in economies of scale and process efficiencies. The companys
world-class integrated polyester complex spread over 250 acres at Butibori (Nagpur) is one of the
finest in the country. In synergy with our focus on making our operations competitive and global
scale, the plant has been set up in technical collaboration with the world renowned DuPont of USA,
Toyobo of Japan and Zimmer AG, a leading technology provider from Germany.

Quest for leadership with a global foot print

Polyester is the most important synthetic fibre accounting for 70% of all man made fibre consumption.
Globally, the industry is shifting to China and India, which are slated to be the two most important
sourcing destinations for textiles. Standing at the gates of an exciting world of opportunities, Indo
Rama is rightfully equipped with a stunning 6 lakh tonne per annum polyester manufacturing capacity.

Apart from being a dominant player in the domestic market, Indo Rama has a significant presence in
the major overseas markets, resulting out of a long standing relationship with its major customers
spread across Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas.

Driven by the passion to seek new challenges, Indo Rama has recently forayed into the power sector.
Indo Ramas 82.5 MW installed capacity comprises 52.5 MW (3x13.5 MW + 3x4 MW) of diesel
generating (DG) sets and 40 MW of co-gen captive facility based on coal. The 40 MW coal-based
cogeneration power plant at Butirbori is set up at a cost of Rs. 128 crore.

The Companys combined power generation capabilities are integrated into a common power supply
pool, from which required amount of power is fed for internal use and the surplus is sold to external
agencies. Indo Rama has a net surplus generation capacity of approximately 42 MW. Indo Ramas
power evacuation facility has also been recently enhanced from 25 MVA to 50 MVA. To best utilize this
excess capacity and generate income, the Company has been selling power to Tata Power Trading
Company Limited, TPTCL, JSW, Adani and MSEB.

The power situation in India is one where demand exceeds supply and shortages are as high as
16.6%. This provides a massive growth opportunity for the Company in the power business.
Considering the exponential growth in demand for energy in the country, the company aims to
establish itself as a force to be reckoned with in the energy sector in the times to come.

Beyond business

Notwithstanding its growing focus on business expansion and profitability, as a responsible corporate
citizen, the Company constantly endeavours to balance its business objectives with the overall good of
the society through wide ranging socio-economic programmes. In line with its committed focus on
CSR, the Company has been consistently following and implementing programmes and policies geared
towards promotion of energy conservation and adoption of global warming reduction measures,
education and health.
