The frst phase of operations of Dayananda Sagar University (DSU) is scheduled to start in 2015-16 on a 4 lakh sq ft facility on
Hosur Road, Electronics City, Bangalore to be called: The DSU City Campus.
The full campus is proposed to come up on a 103 acre project site on Kanakpura Road, Bangalore called The DSU Main Campus.
Project Teams are being set up for the smooth fow of all activities pertaining to the new university broadly identifed under:
Planning & Development - Academics,
Support Services - Academics and
Planning & Execution - Construction
DSU is looking to recruit very competent and accomplished individuals with proven track record, domain expertise and excellent
academic/research achievements to be part of the Project Teams.
Planning & Development - Academics
Pro Vice Chancellor - Health Sciences
Health Care has been a great passion for the Founders and the top management at the helm of the Dayananda Sagar
Institutions; refected in the successful foray through setting up of the large super specialty hospitals with combined bed strength
of 750+, centres of excellence, and a net work of clinics & pharmacies in Bangalore city and elsewhere.
The education initiative very comprehensively covers all segments in the health care vertical; medicine being one missing gap
which would be set right with the setting up of a very unique school of medicine and a teaching hospital as part of the new
university project.
The Pro Vice Chancellor in this domain would be an individual of great repute commanding the respect of leading health care
professionals in India and overseas. A great medical doctor, an outstanding academician, a brilliant administrator, lead speaker
at international conferences, author of several publications and research papers, books, demonstrated abilities in writing grant
proposals, effective net working, exemplary people development skills... would defnitely be basic attributes in the chosen
leader.
The position is open to an Indian doctor leading a global institution to come back to the mother land and take up this key
leadership position. A foreign citizen, matching the above traits would also be welcome to send her / his resume. A resident
Indian refecting these requirements would also fnd favour for being considered to this position.
Pro Vice Chancellor - Engineering & Technology
The chosen candidate would have successfully taken the task of leading a premier engineering & technology school / university /
centre of excellence, in the country or abroad, to great heights.
Dayananda Sagar has established the fact of managing its engineering school to become the largest: nationally and,
academically to be the topper in the VTU charts.
The Engineering and Technology school at DSU is planned to enjoy leadership position right from day one.
Proven leadership qualities, a successful track record of publications, strong links in the Government, research centres, effective
classroom presence: becoming a role model for other faculty / department heads, familiarity with international accreditation
norms, are basic requirements for an individual to make an application.
PhD qualifcations to both the above positions are prerequisites.
Registrar - Academic Planning
Successful candidate would hold a PhD and a strong publication record in Engineering / IT / Management / Humanities / Health
Care domains. He / she would have a proven record of enabling creation of academic content / curriculum bringing together very
talented, creative experts, across domains.
Registrars - Examinations / University Affairs
A seasoned administrator and academician with 15-20 years of combined experience in teaching, research and administration
of a university with proven expertise in planning examinations, evaluation, publication of results, issue of marks cards /
certifcates / security of documents pertaining to examinations / students in a error proof and time bound manner would be basic
qualifcations / experience for consideration to this position.
Dean - Board of Studies
Successful candidates would hold a PhD and strong publication record / patents in any of the following domains to lead the
curriculum development activity: Engineering / IT / Management / Humanities / Health Care domains. He / she would have a
proven record of enabling creation of academic content / curriculum bringing together very talented, creative experts, in the
chosen domain.
The incumbent would also plan the setting up of the respective departments to become the leader in their domains, by
assembling the most talented faculty / researchers.
Dean - Engineering
The School of Engineering aimed to lead innovation is seen to be the fagship school with one of the largest intakes at the
bachelor levels and selective admissions in the masters offering a wide choice of programs. The School would be extremely
dynamic in the design of courses and curriculum and include all levels leading to formal award of bachelors, masters, doctoral
and post-doctoral programs. It would also actively respond to industry / frm needs by developing tailor made programs to suit
peculiar needs. Innovation & Research would be the hall mark of the school while also becoming a great ally of industry / SMEs
offering special solutions to various challenges putting to use the intellectual and material resources of the School, to best use.
The successful candidate would have high levels of creativity and leadership qualities. The Dean should be a master of several
functions: a great teacher, trainer, motivator, an excellent researcherwith large volumes of publications, citations, patents and
yet hungry to achieve more with a passion to take the School to the highs of a nation and progressively to international levels.
A PhD in Engineering with 15- 20 years of teaching, research and administrative experience in a globally well known campus, is a
must. The Dean would come on board frst and start defning the development course of the School, identify and bring people of
matching skills and accomplishments to lead the various departments. Exposure to Indian and global accreditation and ranking
norms are additional requirements.
Dean - Management
A seasoned management practitioner - teacher - researcher / industry veteran with management qualifcations from the IIMs /
any of the globally well known schools, strong man-management skills, successful networking with management professionals /
faculty across the premier B-Schools, industry and a PhD in Management are minimum qualifcations. Exposure to Indian and
global accreditation and ranking norms are additional requirements. The Dean would come on board frst and start defning
the development course of the School, identify and bring people of matching skills and accomplishments to lead the various
departments.
Dean - Liberal Arts
DSU would like provide an opportunity for students preparing for professional courses to get a good exposure in humanities and
liberal arts. DSU believes such grooming would help develop better technocrats and health care providers; many of whom go
on to lead large organizations. Thus the School of Liberal Arts would not only become a platform for full time learners picking up
subjects in this domain but it would serve as a great place for learners from other alien disciplines.
DSU strongly believes that study of courses in liberal arts & humanities in undergraduate education would provide the
cornerstone of leadership, giving students the tools to master writing and speaking skills making people better communicators,
to think critically, to solve problems creatively, and to understand the global dimensions of modern society.
The Dean would thus be open to innovation; to attract the committed student and teaching faculty in its core areas of study as
much as to deliver its other objectives.
A PhD, large publications, strong research background with work experience in leadership positions in one of the premier centres
of learning are a must.
Dean - The School of Fashion and Art & Design
The School of Design would train young emerging designers in creative arts, photography, editing, flm production, script writing,
animation, jewelry, graphics, design & crafts, ceramics while also teaching the theory & practice of arts through academic
programs. The School would have the unique power to train students that have a broad knowledge across specialties, exhibits
matching skills and creativity. Students would go through a common exposure to a variety of courses to become generalist-
specialists in the frst and second year of study, and later branch out to be trained as a specialist in a chosen feld during the next
two years.
The variety to choose would include: Fashion, Industrial, Visual Communication and Innovation Design, and Creative
Entrepreneurship. Being part of a large integrated campus would enable students to access multiple talent pools, academic
and infrastructure resources and a wide canvas to experiment all innovation to a cross section of society belonging to multiple
cultural groupings.
Fashion Events and Exhibitions to showcase the innovative design and production of various student groups of the campus
would be an annual affair that should be the most awaited, nationally. This effort should lead students transforming to become
entrepreneurs either independently or through integrating with existing business frms.
The Dean, to lead this School with diverse talent supported by a creative band of teachers & students, need to be a seasoned
expert at least in a few domains while being a great leader to keep the creativity of the School at its peak, all the time. A Masters
/ PhD in Art & Design from a reputed university / institute with 10 years of teaching / research experience and another 8-10 years
industry experience would be minimum requirements.
Dean - School of Communication & Media Studies
The ideal candidate would be a practicing media personality with excellent network of experts in these two domains backed by
a PhD with strong research and teaching background from a reputed school and work experience in industry & academics of
15-20 years. The combined strengths are to be put to use to create a great school to produce extremely talented set of young
individuals to cater to industry needs in the country and outside.
Dean - School of Law
The chosen candidate would be a PhD with Bachelors and Masters from Law Schools of global repute. She / he would lead
and guide the setting up of a premier law school in the country and would enjoy a high level of professional recognition. Rich
academic and professional experience with ability to pull famed jurists, practitioners and administrators to come on board to take
up full time teaching assignment would be the frst trait in a candidate.
DSU strongly believes that the School would be able to change the thinking of the rulers minds: the political class and the
bureaucracy along with key stake holders in the corporate sector needing to be trained and retrained to transform nations
looking for change.
Justice need to be delivered: Justly. And in Speed. The quality of the delivery of justice needs to move up. Placing great
demands for extremely intelligent people to enter the profession with the right training and preparation.
Good Lawyers can go on to become CEOs and more; within the country and abroad. The Dean of the Law School would be a
very successful individual and of extremely high caliber to achieve these objectives.
Dean - Student Affairs
He / she should be an academic with 5-10 years in caring and being compassionate, offering comfort at all times to the student;
always ensuring the well being of the student across the campus, enabling faculty and community integration for the overall
development of the student by creating an ambience that would bring out individual excellence. Students are to be trained to
take personal and social responsibility while in the campus.

Education: Masters and PhD from Indias top academic centers or from reputed overseas universities in relevant subject, with
10-15 years of teaching and research experience are basic requirements. Candidates with patents/strong publication record and
industry experience would receive preference.
Support Services
Director - Planning & Careers
Preferably an academic with considerable exposure to industry and entrepreneurship; constantly profling the individual needs of
a student across the campus; planning programs that align with these needs and ensure graduating students realize their dreams
before they leave the campus. The Director would ensure that every student is well equipped to face placement interviews or
take up his / her passion to turn entrepreneur. The student would constantly be measured to weigh his academic outcomes
while also preparing the student to become a well groomed individual prepared to face the challenges of a new and open world,
independently.
Director - Research
This is a unique position for an individual: No bar on age & ambition. He/she is welcome to bring exceptionally unique ideas
and people to start afresh or continue the ongoing research activity elsewhere. The new university looks to be seen as not only
providing the best infrastructure in Indias preferred education destination: Bangalore, but also receive people with a passion to
accomplish the impossible. The Director would lead by example, inspire the young to achieve milestones and keep looking for
newer challenges and provide solutions.

Director - Industry Consulting

Manager - Finance
A Chartered Accountant / ICWA with 3-5 years experience or BCom / MCom / MBA with strong accounting / costing background
with 8-10 years experience, in the construction industry is a must. Ability to independently write budgets, plan fund fows, ensure
effciencies in expenditure, approve payments and handle all related fnancial matters are other requirements.
Manager - HR
This is a very challenging position. The successful candidate would go out to scout for accomplished academicians &
researchers now working in key positions in premier institutions across the country and who could be invited to take up
leadership positions in a new University that has, as its objectives, to become a world class centre of excellence in a variety of
domains that include: Engineering, IT, Management, Sciences, Arts & Communication, Law, Health Care.
HR personnel with a good track record could look at being appointed as Asst. / General Manager based on the individuals ability
to source the brightest minds that are needed in a learning and research campus.
Manager - IT
DSU is proposed to be a new generation University that will be heavy on use of technology. The successful candidate should be
conversant on the needs of education sector and research activities by a very large number of students, faculty and researchers.
The website would be one of the frst tools acting as the face of the university which has to be versatile, informative, dynamic,
ease of use; these needs would be one of the frst requirements. As also all other networking infrastructure has to be modern and
futuristic providing a platform for students to be future ready.
Academic partners and faculty of DSU would be spread across the world and could need connectivity for delivery of lessons to
students spread over different time zones needing a strong and reliable IT support.
An IT professional with proven skills in creating and leading a strong technology culture in the education space would be the
ideal candidate. Candidates with good education background, rich industry experience, innovative and creative in ideas and
action could look at a higher level entry.
Manager - Sports
Offcers / Trainers: Athletics, Football, Volley Ball, Cricket, Squash, Swimming, Hockey.
DSU lays emphasis in development of its students in sports as much in academics, art and culture. Ideal candidates would be
national players in the respective sporting events backed by a masters degree from a reputed sports institution with 10-15 years
experience.
Task: DSU Teams should represent the university in State level within 3 years and national level competitions in 5 years.
Manager - Performing Arts
The ideal candidate would be an expert in managing events, and setting up training for students in theatre, art and music.
Exposure to Indian, eastern and western history, art & culture and a proven record of producing plays of great dramatists, an
orchestra of the campus team would be minimum requirements.
Manager - Facilities
A retired military offcer with the rank of Col. / Lt. Col. with experience of managing large education campuses of 8-10 years to
complete charge of the campus, hostels, messes, 24x7 security, anticipate problem areas.
Chief Librarian
The Library in the DSU Campus is planned to be one of its kind with collections of books, periodicals, journals from across the
world and on topics that would thrill and excite any student, faculty or researcher. The library would have museums with the
rarest collections of manuscripts, artifacts and student projects; many discussion rooms & auditoriums with state of the art
connectivity to leading libraries across the world.
The DSU Library and its staff would have strong domain knowledge and keep track on recent developments across domains
acting as a strong guiding point to every student seeking guidance and help to access the right resources on every individual
project of a student.
A PhD in Library Science with experience of working in some of the reputed libraries across the world is mandatory.
Manager - English & Foreign Languages
Faculty / Trainers - English & Foreign Languages
DSU places strong emphasis on making all its students be very strong in English language: spoken/written skills. Students
coming from non English speaking countries/States inside the country need special training and support to make them
comfortable inside the classroom and later in their professional life.
Ideal candidate for the position of Manager/Head of the Centre would be an MA in English or in any other area but with
demonstrated ability of leading a language centre with a dozen faculty; also be strong in recruitment of high quality English
language trainers & students from within the campus/outside and from industry and effective planning / supervising academic
schedules / activities.
Trainers will have BA/MA in English language with 2-3 years experience. Candidates with other qualifcations should have 3-5
years work experience.
Trainers in German, French, Korean, Japanese, Persian, Arabic, Thai, Chinese with 1-2 years experience are welcome to apply.
Native speakers of English and other foreign languages would fnd preference.
Project Team - Construction
Resident Architect
Qualifcations / Experience: B-Arch from a reputed school, working experience of 8-10 years as an Architect / Project Manager
in education & healthcare and ability to deal with the Master Architect / Architecture Firm and other agencies / Government,
contractors; ability to work against set time lines, economies, budgets are minimum requirements.
Project Manager
B.Arch / BE - Civil with specialization in Project Management; having 8-10 years experience in managing campus projects.
Exposure to energy effciency, material management, and timely completion of projects is an essential requirement.
Project Engineer
BE in Civil Engineering, work experience of 8-10 years on large construction sites with special expertise to check quality,
quantities, costing, bills and be responsible for overall smooth fow of the project work with very high effciencies as also ability
to successfully deal with various statutory authorities, approvals, compliance of all legal requirements, safety issues on the site of
workers, visitors & property, vendor development for men & material and ensuring speed of project work against set time lines.
