This instruction manual has been prepared, to serve as a general guide in operating
and maintaining boiler and auxiliary equipment furnished by Powerhouse Equipment.
It is intended for use by qualified personnel with knowledge of boilers and their
operations. It is not intended to cover all possible variations in equipment nor to
provide for specific operating problems which may arise.
PLEASE NOTE: Should any question with regard to operation of the boiler and/or
auxiliary equipment arise, Powerhouse Equipment or its Field Representative should be
contacted immediately.
It must be recognized that no amount of written instruction can replace intelligent
thinking and reasoning on the part of the boiler operators. This manual is not
intended to relieve the operating personnel of the responsibility for proper operation of
the equipment. It is solely the operators responsibility to properly maintain the
equipment. Personnel should become thoroughly familiar with the equipment before
operating or maintaining the equipment.
The companys liability for the equipment furnished is as set forth in the contract. The
company does not assume nor has it any responsibility for any equipment not
furnished by the company. No employee of the company is authorized to assume any
responsibility for equipment not furnished by the company.
Competent supervision of mechanical and electrical equipment in burner and controls
is necessary to maintain safe and reliable operation.
In order to maintain these advantages, the manufacturers of packaged steam
generators recognize that adequate supervisory maintenance is necessary and that
automatic operation of these units does not eliminate the need for employing qualified
operators.
Manuals are prepared by Powerhouse Equipment and the cost of each manual is
approximately $600.00.

Alarm actuation
Before using this product read and understand instructions.
Save these instructions for future reference.
All work must be performed by qualified personnel trained in the proper application, instal-
lation, and maintenance of plumbing, steam, and electrical equipment and/or systems in
accordance with all applicable codes and ordinances.
To prevent serious burns, the boiler must be cooled to 80F (27C) and the pressure must be
0 psi (0 bar) before servicing.
To prevent electrical shock, turn off the electrical power before making electrical connections.
This low water cut-off must be installed in series with all other limit and operating controls
installed on the boiler. After installation, check for proper operation of all of the limit and
operating controls, before leaving the site.
We recommend that secondary (redundant) Low Water Cut-Off controls be installed on all
steam boilers with heat input greater than 400,000 BTU/hour or operating above 15 psi of
steam pressure. At least two controls should be connected in series with the burner
control circuit to provide safety redundancy protection should the boiler experience a
low-water condition. Moreover, at each annual outage, the low water cutoffs should be
dismantled, inspected, cleaned, and checked for proper calibration and performance.
To prevent serious personal injury from steam blow down, connect a drain pipe to the control
opening to avoid exposure to steam discharge.
To prevent a fire, do not exceed the switch contact rating.
Failure to follow this warning could cause property damage, personal injury or death.
