Introduction
This project diary consists of a set of documents that are used to keep track of
the project timeline and review on project meetings. It contains the project
plan with milestones and all copies of the minutes conducted by the project
team.

1 ENHANCEMENT ON PROJECT PROPOSAL
1.1 Enhancements are done on 2 sections of the initial proposal. Enhanced sections
included ‘Introduction’ and ‘Researches’ sections.
Inclusion of roles and responsibilities, and project plan (Gantt chart and
Milestones) under the ‘Introduction’ section.
1.2
Additional sources on applications and devices, strength and weaknesses are
provided in the ‘Researches’ section.
1.3 A new version of Project Proposal v1.1 was updated.

1 PLANNING FOR PROJECT PROTOTYPE
Discussion was conducted on project prototype. 2 key points of focus:

1.1  Suitable applications
 Layout of prototype
1.2 Applications like JAVA 3D, VB, Flash were shortlisted for further researches.
Any suitable applications can also be added.
1.3 Layout of prototype:

 A combination of 3D house layouts
 Able to simulate from one model to another
 Additional models of security devices as drag and drop features
2.1 All team members will conduct research on shortlisted applications and any
sample source codes.

Jojo conducted researches on JAVA 3D.

 Using loader to upload models
 Found a sample coding on layout of a house
Wenfeng found a suitable application by Google called ‘Google SkretchUp 7’.

 Able to create 3D models and import models from 3D warehouse
 Research in progress
Fatimah implemented on VB to create a sample prototype.

 Creating a combination of 3D models
 Creating directions mode to act as simulation
 Adding of security devices as drag and drop features

1 FINALIZE ON PROJECT PROTOTYPE
Team members finalize on the suitable application after all refining done. Java
1.1 As refer to Meeting 4.
3D was selected for further enhancement.
2 COMPARSION
2.1 Google SkretchUp 7 was good for building models and able to import models
but not able to implement drag and drop security feature.
VB can only act as a prototype template, no simulation and drag and drop

security features.
Java 3D was able to setup applets and upload models. Simulation can be done
and, drag and drop feature can be included.
2.2 Team members will conduct more refining on the prototype using Java 3D.
3 PROJECT DOCUMENTATION
3.1 On top of implementation, team members also discuss on various project

documents like technical plan, user manual and project diary.
4.1 Implementation:
Jojo & Fatimah will focus more on implementing the application.
Project Documentation:
Wenfeng will start with the technical plan and compiling the project diary.
Project Website:
Sze Lee will continue to build on the project website.
