Install NS2 (ns-allinone-2.35) on Ubuntu 12.04 Virtually Through VM-ware LTS for beginner.

Network Simulator “NS2” is a very popular simulation software. Most of the people are faceing difficulties to install NS2 on ubuntu, however I am here posting step by step installation with pictures procedure through which you can work on Virtual NS2 with ubuntu OS.

This document contains instructions on setting up NS2 Virtual Machine (VM) in VMware. VMware can run in most modern Operating Systems; therefore, if you have a laptop/desktop you should be able to utilize it for the training.The minimal specifi- cations for your machine are 2GB RAM, Dualcore Processor and above, and 20GB of empty hard drive space.

1. Download VMware

Download the latest version of VMware for your Operating System:

2 . Install VMware

Double click on the VMware Installer and follow installation instructions. When the installation is complete, launch the application.

3. Download Virtual Ubuntu with NS2 Training Ubuntu Image

Import Virtual Ubuntu with Ns2 Image .

Import Ubuntu.ova into your VMware installation.

(1) File → Open

Choose → Browse and select ubuntu.ova
