Dear Class of 2014 and beyond,
Students must pass the Biology Presentation (Sophomore year) or the English 11 paper (Junior
year) and the classroom presentation in Contemporary World and National Issues or AP Government
Politics- (Senior year).
Students who have not passed the Biology Presentation- (Sophomore year) or English 11 paper
(Junior Year) will need to complete the alternate project. Research paper will start October 2013 and
must be completed by February 1, 2014. Presentations will begin April 1, 2014. Please see Mrs.
Krochmalny as soon as possible.
Sophomore Year
Students will be required to complete the Biology Presentation in their Biology Class. During this
course, students will complete a presentation. This will be tracked through ESIS and marked as pass
or ail under Culminating !ro"ect#$ %&esearch'
Junior Year
Students are required to complete an English !ro"ect in their English 11 Class. During this course,
students will complete a research paper. This will be tracked through ESIS and marked as pass or ail
under Culminating !ro"ect#( %!aper Best )orks'
Senior Year
Students are required to present their CB* paper and relect on their +igh School and beyond plan in
Contemporary National/World Affairs or Advaned Plaement !"S" #overnment and Politis
class. This will be tracked through ESIS and marked as pass or ail under Culminating !ro"ect#,
%!resentation'
Alternate pro$et -
Students will submit an application or the alternate paper and pro"ect. .nce the application has
been submitted and appro/ed, student will write a research paper 0see paper rubric1 related to
pro"ect. 2or instance, i a student3s passion is to be a police oicer, he4she will write a paper on
*dministration o 5ustice. The pro"ect could be a student e6periencing a %ride along' or a tour o the
!olice *cademy. Student will need to show two 0$1 pieces o %E/idence o 7earning'. This could be
logging hours, "ournaling the e6perience, an inter/iew or pictures o student in the police car "ust to
name a ew. Student will present to an e/aluation panel *pril $89,.
