'AS THE FATHER HATH SENT ME. SO SEND I YOU " JOHN 20:21

" SPAIN -
You probably read about the recent illness of 81-year-
old General i^ancoy ruler of Spain. During his illness he
gave Rrince Juan Carlos tenporery control of his oun posi^-
tion. This Has the first time in thirty-five years of rule
that Franco has been wt of poirar. Since his release f^cm
the hospitali Franco has apparently taken back his posi
tion. Juan Carlos will becoae Xing of Spain upon the death
or retirement of Franco. A lot of people here look for
that permanent change to go smoothly and for things to re
main stable, at least for awhile.
fissentially we are not inter^ted in the political at
mosphere, but the policies of the government do affect the
nhiiTfthfta here and our fjreedom to preach the Gospel of Jesus
Christ. Therefore join with us in prayer that no matter what
happens in the political arena, we will not be hindered in
proclaiming the Gospel,
I was just reading today the story of Jonah going to
Nineveh to tell the people the Lord's message. Ihe vecry
first day the people heard the message they repented, from
the king on down. Pray that the people of Spain will re
ceive God's message and that from the King on down, they
too will repent of their sin and accept Christ as their
Savior,

When Professor Randall
met with Senor Gardona
this summer he had our
3 missionaries sta^
tioned in Spain to go
with him.
On their way to England from the World Congress on World
Evangelism held in Switzerland, Mr, and ttcs. Max Ward Randall
stopped in Madrid to visit our three missionary families.
Professor Randall of Lincoln Christian College visited Spain
three years igo and met with Senccr Gardona. At that meeting
Cardona expressed a hope that our churches would send mis
sionaries-into Spain, Besides being a minister, Senor
Cardona Is a Christian lawyer and judge. He has the respon
sibility of giving legal help to and defending all of the
Evangelicals in Spain.
"Little" Eduardo (to dis
tinguish him from our other
friend named Eduardo), is one
of the neighbor boys with
whom we have made friends.
He comes up often to our
apartment to help us with
our Spanish, He has helped
Dan with his Spanish accent
by reading from the New Tes
tament,

BECAUSE OF YOUB GIVING
After taking "busses and the
subway everywhere for five
months we now have a car, thanks
to so rasiny of you ^dio have
given to our support. It is
a "Renault 5" a small four cyl
inder car that is made in
Spain and seems to be very pop
ular, Dan will continue using
public transportation for go
ing to school etc, in order to
keep expenses down. Gas is
about $1.30 per gallon in Spain,
Hie car will especially be a help when all of us need
to go scxaewhere. An example of this is going to Church.
Before we got the car it was a 20 minute ride by bus and
a 20 minute hike after getting off of the bus. Last Sun
day it only took ten minutes to get there, and idiat a
relief not having to carry Nathan.

this picture they enjoyed a boat ride together at an amuse

Unfortunately our neighbors have moved "but we axe sure
that the Lord will open new doors for us to meet new people
and that Nathan will find many more friends. It was thru
the common interest of our children that we first met our
nei^bors with whom we were able to share the Gospel.

"What man Is thecca of you, If his son sislcs him foo: a
loaf of hcead, *111 hand him a stone? Or if he asks fo(r
a fish, will hand him a serpent? If you then, evil as
you are, know how to give good and advantageoius gifts to
your children, how much more will your Father Who is In
Heaven give good and advantageous things to those idio
ke^ on asking Him;" (ttett. 79-U Amplified),
We have found these verses to be very true in our
lives, God is like all good fathers in that He gives
His children what they ask fcr If He knows that it is
good for them. But unlike we earthly fathers idio are
limited in what we are able to provide for our children,
God is not limited. He saysi "Eveory beast of the forest
is Mine, and the cattle upon a thousand hills the
world is Mine and the fullness thereof."
We know that God has bcou^t us here to Spain, He has
supplied all that we have needed and we give Him the
glory; but we still have mere needs i Pray that both of
us will be encouraged in our language study and that a
way will be provided for Kathy to learn at home. Pray
for more workerB, Pray that we will receive our resi
dence permlssiOTi withuui treble. Pray for more
tacts. Pray that Dan will have more 0PP<=^^unitie3 to
witness in language school, Vr&y that Bduardo and Ana
will accept Christ as their Savior,
