QSA Good Catch of the month
Hi All,


Please join the QSAs in congratulating your staff member for completing a Safety Intelligence event and being
nominated for the March Good Catch Award! By reporting these events, it increases patient safety and in two of the
March events, it led to rapid changes in the involved order-set made to improve patient safety.

At yesterdays QSA meeting, Sondra May suggested that Managers be notified of all Safety Intelligence events
nominated as a Good Catch of the month. The attached is the list of Good Catch events that were voted on by the
QSAs yesterday with the last event voted as winner.

If you arent familiar with the Good Catch process, it is as follows:
QSAs nominate SI events that were a near miss or reached the patient but have potential to point out a
system safety issue
QSAs review and vote on all the Good Catch Nominations at each monthly meeting
Winners receive a $5 Daz Bog card and a letter of thanks from Carolyn Sanders (sent to the Manager and
read at your staff meeting)

or Jen Livingston or I know if you have an event youd like to nominate.
