Trend system setup:
To run a SABROE demo program, which is
availably by request, it is suggested that the
node connected to the 945 supervisor PC
has no. 20, and that the node connected to
COMSAB II-T has no. 21.
The number is setup by using the DIP switch
on the TREND node.
In the program group 945 Manager the pro-
gram 945 Outstation Organiser is run to de-
fine the outstations no. 20 and 21.
The baud rate between CNC+ and
COMSAB II-T must be set to 19200 baud.
To run the SABROE demo program, then
start the program 945 User Pages in the
program group 945 Manager
Then open the file ..\945\data\:

Protocol:
SABROE protocol 0178-405 describes the
data communication between a central
TREND computer or IQ station and a
COMSAB II - TREND module.
This protocol allows TREND to retrieve data
from an UNISAB or a PROSAB control panel,
through the COMSAB II-T module. The pro-
tocol always waits to get polled by the central
computer.
Exept for the Text Alarms it never starts a
communication by it self.
The communication is based on the central
computer sending a telegram ( a message )
to the COMSAB II-T module.
Message format:
The communication between TREND Net-
work and COMSAB II-T only support the fol-
lowing formats:
S Random Communications ( Read / Write )
S Text Alarms
S Supervisor request
and follows the specification listed in TREND
CNC+ Interface Development
Note:
Extended addressing are not supported.
S Max. total message length is 100 bytes.
The Protocol are asumed to be like this:
STD Dest Source T1 T2 T3 Class X1 X2 Datafield ETX
Random Mess. no (mode) Extended
Comm. (returned) adressing
=z (not used)
Dest: Address of COMSAB II-T
node
Source: Address of TREND device.
Will be used as Dest. in
REPLY.
Class: ENQ = 05 = read
FF = 12 = reply
EOT = 04 = write
Read:
TREND reads values from UNISAB/PROSAB
by sending a Class = ENQ message:
STX - Dest - Source - T1 - T2 T3 - ENQ -
X1 X2 - Index Index Index ..... list - ETX
Datafield will consist of a list of index
numbers, where each index is referring to
certain point in a certain compressor. The
structure of the index number is as follows.
10 0178-405-EN
Index: 3 bytes ( 1 byte Item type
+ 2 bytes TIN number )
where:
1. byte: Item type: (Analog = CAN = 18H )
2. byte: 2 + Compressor number 1 to 12
(decimal value)
(max. 12 compressors)
3. byte: Point number
1 to 99 (decimal value)
... ref.
SABROE Table 0171-405-EN/TREND -
Points to Read/Write.
The reply (FF) from COMSAB II-T will be:
STX - Dest Source - T1 - T2 T3 - FF -
X1 X2 - Data Data Data .... list - ETX
Datafield will consist of a packed list of
points - corresponding to the received index
list, each point coded to 3 bytes (format
TRN) for analog points. Only format TRN are
used.
Alarms (1-5) and Warnings (1-5) are read as
point number 21 to 25 and 26 to 30, where
the alarm number ( i.e. #31 to #54 ) are re-
turned as data.
Alarm no #31 is Low suction pressure.
........
Write:
TREND writes values to UNISAB/PROSAB
by sending a Class = EOT message:
STX - Dest Source - T1 - T2 T3 - EOT -
X1 X2 - Index Data Index Data .... list -
ETX
Datafield will consist of a list of pairs of a 3
byte index number followed by a 3 byte
(TRN) data field, where the index is referring
to certain point in a certain compressor.
The structure of the index number is as fol-
lows.
Index: 3 bytes ( 1 byte Item type +
2 bytes TIN number )
where:
1. byte: Item type: (Analog = CAN = 18H )
2. byte: 2 + Compressor number

Text Alarms:
An alarm text string are sent (uninvited) from
COMSAB II-T at the first alarm on a com-
pressor. This is done by sending a (Class =
EOT and T1 =F ) Text Alarm Communica-
tions message:

Supervisor Request:
TREND Supervisor 945/921 identifies the
COMSAB II-T node by sending a Class =
ENQ and T1 = w message:
STX - Dest Source - w - T2 T3 - ENQ
X1 X2 - ETX
0178-405-EN

The reply (Class = FF) from COMSAB II-T
will be:
STX - Dest Source w - T2 T3 - FF -
X1 X2 - D00000/0_ - ETX
Reply from the COMSAB II-T:
Data written to UNISAB II is checked in the
UNISAB II, if the value exceed the limits that
are build into UNISAB II (se UNISAB II
instruction book for reference) then UNISAB
II accepts and returns the lowest or highest
limit value depending on which limit is ex-
ceeded.
Data written to UNISAB I or PROSAB II is
checked in the COMSAB II-T, if the value ex-
ceed the limits that are build into COMSAB
II-T (se note 17 after the Read/write tabel
and UNISABI / PROSAB II instruction book
for reference) then COMSAB II-T returns a
error message.
Point lay out for the COMSAB II-T:
Points in COMSAB II-T is addressable from
both IQ-stations (partly) and Supervisor 945x
stations, where:
-- TREND IQ- station(s) or Supervisor 921
are addressing analog points from 0 to
255.
-- TREND Supervisor 945 is addressing
analog points from 0 to 9999.
Points with write access is marked with
an x in the R/W collum in the read/write
table.

Note the following:
X: Valid for this control system:
PII/UI = PROSAB II and UNISAB
S/ R/ RT/ RTH.
UII = UNISAB II.
Range: I = Integer, ie. data range
-- 32268 -- + 32267
UI= Unsigned integer, ie.data
range 0 -- 65535
B = Byte, ie. data range
-- 128 -- + 127 or 0 -- 255.
(s) Only screw compressors.
(r) Only reciprocating compressors.
(1): Only when hardware option
available.
(2): See TABLE OF COMPRESSOR
CONTROL MODES.
(3): See TABLE OF COMPRESSOR
MODES.
(4): See TABLE OF ALARM/WARN-
INGS.
In the UNISAB/PROSAB all alarms,
i.e. a alarm number, are stored in an
alarm-queue, containing max. 5
alarms.
The first (oldest) alarm are stored
in alarm 1 (read point 16), the
next alarm in alarm 2 (read point
17) and the last (newest) alarm are
stored in alarm 5 (read point 20) -
see read/write table.
To read the UNISAB II alarm-queue
you will have to do the following:
Read point 16. If there isnt any
alarm in the UNISAB II then the re-
ply will be a 0 (zero).
If there is one (or more) alarms in
the UNISABII then the reply will be
the number of the oldest alarm, i.e. a
alarm number from 31 to 70 - see
the table of alarm/warnings.
To see if there are more than one
alarm in the queue, then read read
point 17, then point 18, 19 and 20,
until the reply from the COMSAB II-T
is a 0 (zero).
The same procedure is used when
reading the warnings-que.
(5): See TABLE OF CONTROL SYS-
TEMS.
(6): See TABLE OF MULTISAB
STATES.
(7): Only PROSAB II and UNISAB S.
For UNISABS this is a calculated
value. Not a measured value.
(8) Only PROSAB II, UNISAB S and
UNISABR.
(9) Not UNISAB R.
(10) Running hours are internally read as
hours x 1 for UNISAB II and as
hours x 1 for PROSAB II and
UNISAB S/ R/ RT/ RTH.
(11) Run time since last start are read in
sec. (i.e. max run time is ~18 hours).
(13) START COMPRESSOR,
point = 18 .. ,
must have datafield = 1
20 0178-405-EN
Start conditions are:
- Control mode = Remote + Config/
Auto Start = YES or NO
- Compressor mode = Ready
(14) STOP COMPRESSOR,
point = 19 .. ,
must have datafield = 0
Stop conditions are:
- Control mode = Remote + Con fig/
Auto Stop = YES or NO
- Compressor mode = Running
(-overload/suct.lim./disch.lim.) etc.
(15) Reads actual brine set point if
PROSAB II or UNISAB S/R/RT/RTH.
(16) It is only possible to enter capacity
control mode if:
- Control mode = Remote
In capacity control mode start no. is
set to zero.
To leave capacity control mode you
will have to write a set point 1 or 2 to
the suction-, brine-, discharge or ex-
ternal-regulator, then the regulator
(mode) will change back to default
and the start no. will be set back to
the original value.
(17) Min/max limits for values written to
PROSAB II or UNISAB I.
