ImportantExaminationRules
Pleasenotethefollowingimportantdetailsregardingexaminations:
1. Before writing examinations, students must ensure that they are correctly registered and
theyhavebeengrantedtheirDulyPerformed(DP)Certificates.
2. Studentsmustproducetheiridentitycardsforallexaminations,includingoralsandpractical
examinations.
3. Cellularphones,books,papers,bags,notes,firearmsoranyothermaterialnotrequiredfor
examinationsmustnotbetakentothedesksintheexaminationvenueduringexaminations.
These must be left at the bag drop area or the area reserved to leave bags in the venue.
However, students leave them at their own risk and the University will not be held
responsibleforanydamagesorlosses.
4. Inopenbookexams,notes/bookswillbeallowedasprescribedbytheexaminer.
5. Calculators and other mechanical instruments capable of storing, sending or receiving
informationmaynotbeusedduringexamsunlessspecifiedonthequestionpaper.Students
willbedisqualifiediftheyusethemwithoutpermission.
6. Students may be disqualified if they aid or communicate with other students during an
examinationsessionwithoutpermissionoftheChiefInvigilator.
7. There are two examinations sessions per day, and the starting times, unless otherwise
stated,willbe9:00and14:00.
8. Studentsareexpectedtobeatthespecifiedexaminationvenue,atleast20minutesbefore
commencementofexaminations.
9. Studentswhofailtoappearforanexaminationattherighttimeandvenue,mayforfeittheir
righttowriteanexamination.Misreadingoftheexamtimetablewillnotbeacceptedasan
excusefornonattendanceatanexamination.
10. Students must read the rules for writing exams, printed on the front cover page of the
examinationanswerbooks.
11. Studentsarenotpermittedtoleavetheexaminationroomduringthefirsthourandthelast
15minutes.
12. StudentsshouldreportproblemsduringanexaminationtotheChiefInvigilator.
13. Students are not permitted to enter the examination room unless they are respectably
dressed.
14. Studentsarenotallowedtobehaveinamannerwhichisindecentorimproperandsmoking
isnotpermittedintheexaminationroom.
15. Thecompositerulesgoverningstudentsconductduringanexaminationareavailableinthe
StudentRulesBooklet.
Latearrivalforexaminations
Thefollowingprocedurewillapplyincaseswherestudentsarriveaftercommencementofexams:
Ifstudentsarrivelessthanthirty(30)minutesaftercommencementofanexamination,they
willbeallowedtowrite,butnoextratimewillbegiven;
If students arrive more than thirty (30) minutes after commencement of an examination,
theywillnotbeallowedtowritebutwillbeadvisedtoapplyforspecialexaminationattheir
respectiveCollegeOffices.
