SECTION 1 POLYFAB 2011 TENSION SHADE WORKSHOP SERIES



Polyfab USA held a series of Tension Shade Workshops throughout the first quarter of
2011. Almost 300 attendees in Pittsburgh, Atlanta, Detroit, Houston, Columbus, Denver
and Hayward learned techniques of design, cutting & sewing of Tension Shades with
industry experts (Timothy Akes of MPanel Software and Barry Jamieson of Polyfab
Australia) and a guest fabricator (Patrick Howe of Wholesale Shade Sails, Inc.).

Everyone we talked to told us they appreciated the opportunity to either see these
techniques for the first time, or to ask questions of the guest experts.

MPanel introduced their new MPanel Shade Designer software package:

Patrick Howe of Wholesale Shade Sails, Inc. (Carlsbad, CA) supplied his 15 years of
experience (and recent trip to work with several Australian fabricators) and did the
hands on demonstration of cutting and sewing. He also supplied the handoutTips &
Techniques of Cable Edge and Webbing Edge Shade Sails. Interested fabricators just hit

SECTION 2 ALL WHITE? ALL RIGHT!
Polyfab USA recently received the first shipment of White Polytexwhich was shipped
out to distributors as soon as it hit the warehouse in California! The reception was
overwhelming (and cleaned us out), so we have more rolls coming from the factory, and
these should be available from your distributors sometime after
July 4
th
.
NEW!
WHITE POLYTEX & WHITE COMTEX

In fact, the response was so strong that the decision was made
to also add White Comtex to the US product line. The first
shipment of White Comtex should arrive here in mid-to late
August. Please contact your distributor if you want to put a roll or more of either
item on hold!
SECTION 3 NEW EDGE WEBBING STOCK ON THE WATER!
A large shipment of Polyfab Shade Sail Edge Webbing is on the water and due to
arrive in the US from our webbing mill in Australia about the end of June 2011. [There is
enough Edge Webbing coming in to go around the outside edge of a football field 198
times!] Stock should be available from your favorite distributor shortly thereafter.

All distributors have stock of Edge Webbing sample cards, so ask for yours with your
next shipment of Polyfab fabric!

SECTION 4 NEW POLYFAB PRO SHADE SAIL HARDWARE!
Also on order is a full line of Stainless Steel and Zinc Plated Shade Sail Hardware,
including the following NEW 12mm items:

Your distributor should have availability of all pieces by mid-summer. Check with
them for pricing and availability!

SECTION 5 POLYFAB USA FABRICS

Note that all of the fabric we sell is 100% recyclable! Ask about our recycling program.
Polytex - A superior fire rated knitted HDPE shade fabric designed for use in modular
shade structures and shade sails. Recommended for residential and small commercial
installations with unsupported spans of 25 feet or less.
Width: 12.5 ft. x 100 ft. center folded rolls
Weight: 7 oz. per square yard
Comtex - A superior fire rated knitted HDPE shade fabric designed for large tension
membrane structures and architectural shade sails. Recommended for larger commercial
installations or any job if preferred.
Width: 12.5 ft. x 100 ft. center folded rolls
Weight: 10 oz. per square yard
Fire Standard Compliance:
Both Polytex and Comtex meet the following fire standards: NFPA 701-2004, ASTM E-84
Class A and California State Fire Marshal, Section 13115

SECTION 6 SPOTLIGHT ON POLYFAB FABRIC JOBS


Victory Awning in Ft. Worth, TX makes awnings, signs, carport covers, shade structures, industrial sewn
products, cabanas and architectural metal awnings for the Dallas/Ft. Worth area as well as for
nationwide corporate clients. These parking lot covers are made from Aquamarine Polytex and are at
the Texas Motor SpeedwayVictory Awning did both the shade and metal fabrication!
