Covered administration and cops/ courts as a reporter and gained
most notoriety covering the Jerry Sandusky scandal for months afer
it broke. Served as the managing editor for the 2011-12 school year,
managing a staf of about 130 editors, reporters and photographers.
During that time, the Collegian was ranked the No. 1 college
newspaper in the nation by several organizations. Last fall, I covered
the football team as a beat reporter.

JANUARY 2014 - PRESENT
Following my college graduation, I started as a full time reporter at
PennLive, splitting my time between breaking news and chasing enter-
prise crime stories in a digital-frst environment. From January to May,
I was a part time reporter in State College covering Penn State news.
Hearst Foundation
The William Randolph Hearst Foundation, widely known
as the body that oversees the Pulitzers of college
journalism, awarded me the following:
2014: First place in national writing championship,
Article of the Year and First place in Sports Writing for
an enterprise story examining the dark side of college
football recruiting.
2012: First place in the nation in Breaking News cate-
gory for coverage of the Jerry Sanudsky scandal, one
of eight finalists in national championship.
