The KAPATIRAN WISE-TAV is a program
of the DOLE that encourages big compa-
nies practicing Corporate Social Respon-
sibility (CSR), to coach small companies
in eventually becoming fully compliant
with labor laws and the OSH standards.
The Filipino value of kapatiran or
brotherhood is evident in the nurturing
partnership among the big brother and
the small brothers.
The program is anchored on the ILOs
Work Improvement in
Small Enterprises
(WISE), whose action-
oriented approach
has long proven to
link Productivity
and
Product Quality to safer and better work-
place conditions.
It also makes use of the Training and
Advisory Visit (TAV) approach of the
LSEF which aims to ensure compliance
with labor laws and OSH standards
Key Players
OSH Practitioners/ Consultants in
the Big Brother:
Determine the OSH needs of the
small brothers (contractors, service
providers, enterprises in the supply
chain).
Plan the orientation and action train-
ing courses for the small brothers.
Assist small brothers achieve volun-
tary compliance, increased productiv-
ity, safety milestones (no lost time
accidents).
