What are you seeing?

By Pastor E O Alawale

Are the things you see today the things you want to see or things you would rather not?

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the
waters.
(Gen 1:1-2; KJV)
The world was emptiness and void. That was what God saw around him in the beginning.
However, God did not like what he saw around Him and so and we went about changing the
situation by speaking to it.We need to understand that the way things appear in the physical are
not necessarily the way they ought to be.
as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are
seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal
(2 Cor 4:18; ESV)

We need to live for the purpose for which God has created us. The bible says But seek ye rst
the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you (Mat
6:33)
When we live for the purpose of God, God sorts out everything else concerning us. Living for the
purpose of God is not dependent on what we physically have but is a function of our availability for
God.

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be
moved (Psalm 55:22; ESV)

We need to see things around us and recognise what the situation around us is. God took Ezekiel
to the valley of dry bones and asked him to look. Even though all Ezekiel saw was negativity (dry
skulls and bones), God gave him a word to prophesy. He obeyed and spoke Gods word into the
situation and things changed. The dry bones were revived (Full Story in Ezekiel 37)

We also need to allow God instruct our life and direct where we go. In the example above, Ezekiel
spoke to words God commanded him to.

We need to be careful not to lead a double life. When we leads double life, we are not cheating
anyone but ourselves as we cut short the level to which we can rise in God.

If we have not experienced God in the way he is described in the bible, it is because we have not
taken God as seriously as we should.

And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all esh; your sons and your
shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions. Even on
the male and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit (Joel 2:28-29; ESV)

We need to prophesy the word of God. To prophesy means to speak forth or declare the word of
God. As children of God, we need to have the audacity to speak Gods word into the situations in
our lives that are not reecting Gods purpose.

Seeing visions means we see the reality of the present but we will also see what ought to be
according to the mind of God. We shouldn't let the things we see intimidate us or cause us to be
anxious. We need to walk in partnership with God and speak Gods word to the situations around
us.
