Date:June 14,2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Illustrator
Objectives:
Create new logo for personal image.
Design consistent layouts for a business card and letterhead.
Process:
For my letterhead I then took my logo that I had created and pasted it on the top
lef hand corner. I then added my personal information onto the bottom right
hand corner. I didnt want to add too much to the top half of the paper.
Corrections:
I added a watermark to fll some of the white space.
Montage
Description:
Insperational montage made in Photoshop by blending two images, and
with typography.
Date: May 31, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Learn to manage Photoshop layers
Learn to use masks in order to blend images together smoothly
Process:
I had to fnd an inspirational quote, and I heard these lyrics from a friend.
I then found a beautiful sunrise photo, and then a photo of the dark ocean
to contrast the bright sunrise.I cropped the sun rise photo and then with
black paint and a 100% opacity, sof-edged brush, I painted away the
hard image edges. I wanted to blend the two together as if they were one.
However I lef the mountains from the sunrise photo so that it added to
the photo. I then added a red flter. Te original photo of the ocean was
named red wine ocean and I thought itd be a nice touch if I added a light
red flter.I added two diferent texts boxes with the lyrics. If the sun was
God I added an inner glow. If the ocean.. I added an inner glow and a
satin flter to it which changed the color to the gray that it is. I then adjust-
ed the brightness/contrast, as well as the vibrance, and levels of the photo
as a whole.
Photo Design
Description:
A personally taken photograph edited and formatted using Photoshop
Date: May 24, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe Photoshop
Canon PowerShot Camera
Objectives:
Learn and practice basic photography skils
Adjust image brightness, contrast, hue and saturation levels
Process:
First I decided that I wanted to use a yellow monochromatic color scheme for
this project. Ten I went out and took a few photos, but realized that the pho-
tos I had taken were too small for me to transform into a poster. I then went
out to take more photos. I decided to go to St. Anthony. I took this photo of
a dandelion with a camera I rented from the McKay Library. I then import-
ed the photo into Photoshop and applied the 4 basic editing techniques that
were taught to me: levels, vibrance, color balance, and sharpness. I didnt
want to make this photo look unnatural so I was really hesitant with editing
it. I included the color scheme title, color searches, and color names into my
design. I used the rectangle shape tool to draw my swatches, and I used the
eye dropper tool to adjust the colors of my shapes and my text. My piece is
simple but I really like the way it turned out. I wanted the focus to be on the
photo and not the techniques that I used to enhance the photo.

Tree logos variations for the same company.
Date: June 7, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe Illustrator
Objectives:
Create variety of logos to ft a company or personal image by using the basic tools of
Illustrator.
Process:
I really enjoyed working on this project. I frst sketched out two diferent ideas and
then I used Illustrator to create my designs. For my frst design I used the pen tool
to add points to the word doodle and stretched the letters to make them longer. I
then adjusted the o to make it a little more visually appealing. Te second design I
switched the fonts. I turned the e yellow. I also found a baseball cap online and used
photo shop to edit it. I used the ellipse tool to add a circle and used a diferent brush
to add a special efect. Te third design I used the same font for the entire text. I added
the hat to the d just to make it a little diferent. I added three circles using the ellipse
tool and with the brushes I added special efects. I added a diferent slogan to each
logo for variety.
Brochure

Date: July 12, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Adobe InDesign
Adobe Illustrator
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Set up and align two-sided, folded document
Learn how to wrap text around an image
Use paragraph styles in InDesign
Process:
I frst set up the document measurements. I then designed the Disneyland logo in
Illustrator, and traced the Disney castle in Illustrator to add to the logo.
I then did some research and added a familiar quote to go with the logo. I added a red
rectangle on the front and inside of the brochure and altered the transparancy hop-
ing it would act as white space.
I found a photo of the actual castle and placed it on the instead of the brochure. I also
placed a coupon within the brochure and tips on how to experience Disneyland.

Event Ad
Description:
An event ad in color with a full-bleed to promote a fundraiser.
Organized by Hogwarts for students that need assistance in pur-
chasing an owl.
Date: May 17, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Microsof Word
Epson Scanner
Objectives:
Develop skill to scan and import a high-quality image
Create a full-bleed design
Learn to design using Word
Process:
I scanned an image from the book Owls of the World, and then
used Word background removal tool to crop out the owl I want-
ed to use for my fier. I then made the owl large enough to fll
the whole page. I then placed a rectangular box beneath the owl
so it appeared as if he were perched on a branch. I then added
multi-colored boxes beneath him and along the right hand side.
Tis created a boarder and now it appears that the owl is perched
on a window sill instead of just a branch. I was happy that the
color scheme came together as well as it did. I was concerned that I
wouldnt be able to fnd the right color scheme for this event ad.
Flier
Description: Grayscale fier that promotes a graduate leader-
ship conference.
Date: May 10, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools: Adobe InDesign
Objectives:
Create a fier using the basic design principles from FOCUS
text book.
Process:
First I did my sketches and by my last sketch I had found a
layout that I really liked. Ten as I used Adobe InDesign I
referred to my sketch for guidance. I used circles for repetition
and I also had them fade in and out at diferent shades for con-
trast. I also cut the photo of the four models in half and placed
them into a circle as well. Te image, logo, and content for this
fier was given to me.
Corrections:
I took the time to shif the text of my fier to create better
alignment for the whole piece.
Web Page
Description:
Tis webpage is meant to showcase my personal logo that I created.
Date: June 28, 2014
Program(s)/ Tools:
Text Wrangler
Adobe Photoshop
Objectives:
Transfer personally made logo into png format for web page.
Write content to describe the process of creating logo.
Design a web page using HTML to display logo and content
Gain knowledge of HTML and basic understanding of CSS
Compress multiple fles into a zip folder
Process:
I created this web page using only TextWrangler. Because I have no experi-
ence with HTML.CSS I had to watch a few tutorials and I used W3 Schools as
resources to build this website. I also went to the STC and received some extra
help. Afer I understood how the CSS fles compliment the HTML fle it was
easier to design my website.
Afer creating my HTML fle with all my content and image I then attached the
pre made CSS document that was given to us.
I decided to use a black back drop because using two colors from my logo real-
ly over powered the webpage.
I also used the eye dropper in order to get the right shade of pink. I changed
my heading font to Didot. I also placed back up fonts for viewers browsers that
might not have that font.
