Manger
Imagine gentle hands brushing away the oats and slime and filling the manger with
fresh straw and then, placing a Babe in the feeding rough. "He that cometh to me
shall never hunger and He that eateth of this bread shall live forever." This
Heavenly fare, offered in the manger, was capable of filling us forever and lifting
us to God. How fitting that Mary should cradle her son, The Bread of Life, in a
manger.

10
Candy cane represents the shepherd's crook. The crook on the staff helps bring
back the strayed sheep to the flock. It's the helping hand we should show at
Christmas time. It's a symbol that we are our brothers' keepers. The shepherds
were among the first to receive the great news. Deemed by the upper classes as
men of naught, the Shepherds were nevertheless Saviors to the sheep. The Savior
risked his life to save his sheep. Deep irony.

13. Crown Timothy 4:8, Matt 27:29, James 1-12

We don't really know how many Wise Men came, but tradition claims 3 because
there were 3 gifts; gold, the metal of kings and symbol of celestial world because
of its refined purity; frankincense, used in making incense that was burned on the
temple altar as a symbol of prayers arising and connecting God and ma; and myrrh,
an aromatic gum used to make incense, perfume, and ointment for embalming. Even
at the Christ's child's tender age, the gifts given Him bore testimony of who He
