ODU Cable Connector
Wire 18-pin female connector as shown (Amphenol Crimp
Tool #M22520/1-01 with turret head #M22520/02): Verify
cable continuity by measuring end-to-end resistance on each
pin. An open (infinite) or short (0 ohms) indicates an incorrect
connection. Crimp tools or an Installation Toolkit are available
for proper connector assembly (see user manual or product
ordering guide for details).
Radio Installation
The DART radio mounts directly to the antenna.
Signal polarization is indicated by the arrow on the
radio. Antenna alignment can be achieved by
maximizing the AGC voltage available on the BNC
connector (see table below). The ODU should be
grounded using either the Metric or Imperial
Standard ground lug. Remote mounting of the
ODU is available (see user manual or product
ordering guide for details).
Local Tributary Loopback
Loopback customer data at the tributary input of the
local radio. This is used to verify the cable system is
properly installed
Remote Tributary Loopback
Loopback customer data at the tributary output of the
remote radio back towards the local radio. This is
used to verify the entire link is properly installed and
running error-free.
