Thanksgiving Dinner Pathway Christian Academy,
The Thanksgiving dinner or the Thanksgiving feast symbolizes the
tradition and custom of the families having the dinner together on

dinner may involve a loving family and friends, a festive dining ta-
ble, designer placemats on the table, glowing candles and the finest
crockery generally used on special occasions like this one.
At the first Thanksgiving celebrations the tough, resourceful, able to
fly and hard to catch, turkeys were not the first choice of either the
pilgrims or the Native Americans. This creature was so tenacious
that Benjamin Franklin suggested it to be revered as our national
symbol. (But the Bald Eagle ultimately won the honor by a feather.)

Today a wide variety of dishes have been included in the Thanks-
giving dinner along with the turkey, yet the traditional turkey is still
the meat of choice. There is a large variety of food to choose from
for a perfect Thanksgiving Dinner such as goose, duck, ham, some
of the sea's harvests, sweet potatoes, peas, rice dishes, greens,
and even more exotic vegetables. All these items together make the
celebrations of Thanksgiving Day even more tasteful.
The main idea behind finalizing a perfect Thanksgiving menu is to
choose those dishes that represent the idea of giving thanks for a
good fortune, a good harvesting season, and the sharing of the
bounty of happiness with friends and family.
 Christmas Fair Wrap Up
A week ago Saturday concluded our 5th annual
Christmas Fair. While it would be impossible to
list every person that worked to make the event
run efficiently and smoothly, a few "unsung he-
roes" among us include:
Dianna Johnston, Stephanie Harmon, Andrea Kirk,
Faith Wilkins, Katie Muscatello, Kenley Jones,
Audrey Jones and Marguerite Goodhart for helping
set-up and clean Thursday and Friday.
The Stike, Meadows, and Shrader families for
tirelessly working the concessions all day
throughout the fair.
The 5th and 6th Grade classes and the Yearbook
Staff for having servant hearts to prepare
craft projects and baked good to sell and to do-
nate the money back to the school.
Karen Barker and Reda Quesenberry for planning,
organizing and working the Pathway Pantry.
Terri Shaffer for executing the Chili Cookout
judging.
Rebecca Wilson for working the marketing booth
and helping with cleanup.
Marty Muscatello and Jerry Hall for running the
Reverse Raffle throughout the day.
The awesome work of the boys Varsity Basketball
Team for willingly and enthusiastically moving ta-
bles, hauling mounds of trash, sweeping and mop-
ping in our cleanup efforts that day.
Benita Rice, Kathy Williams, Lisa Korb, Cath-
erine Korb and Marguerite Goodhart for helping
with cleanup.
If we have left anyone off this list, please know
your efforts and work are very much appreciated.
It is because of the support and effort of our
parents that events such as this are successful.

Christmas Fair Money Wrap Up
The totals are in from the 5th annual Pathway
Christmas Fair. We would like to reiterate our
gratitude for your participation in this event. The
money raised will be of great benefit to the Path-
way.
Before we focus on the easy way to evaluate the success of
the Fair - money - we would like to remind you of the intan-
gible benefits.
* The Fair is one of the primary social events for our
Pathway families. It is a time when friendships are renewed
and new relationships built. Just ask the host of volunteers
about the enjoyment they experienced from working side by
side with other Pathway parents & students.
* The school came together as a unit to pull together a
wonderful event. Putting on an event of this size takes the
combined efforts of many, many people.
* We were able to present our new facility to the commu-
nity. We heard throughout the day how impressive the
school looks.
* We had the opportunity to be inspired by the creativity
and ingenuity of the 5th & 6th grade classes on the craft
booths that they put together. The 5th grade was able to fund
a sizable amount of their year end field trip and the 6th grade
will be donating their proceeds to the school.
* Our vendors donated many items for our auction on De-
cember 7th that will add to the total success of this year's
Fair. We estimate that an additional $2,500 will be raised
through the live auction.
The total raised from this year's Fair, after all expenses is
$5,759.33. (This total does not include the auc-
tion). We are making a gift of $540.93 to the
local food bank. Our expenses did include
$1,200 for the outside banner and table skirts
(they are more expensive then you think!) that
represent investments. These expenses will not
be recurring next year unless someone forgets
where the items are stored!
Of the total raised, $5,200 came from the raffle. We sold a
total of 773 tickets. That is a record for the number of tickets
sold. This is a great reminder that all raffle sales benefit a
great deal to the Fair's success.
Thank you for all your time and support. We are grateful for
all the success and the efforts of so many.
