Datasheet The IP-BSC-DO provides the CDMA networks Base Site Controller and Operations and Maintenance Controller functions in a single platform, providing traffic and signaling control and routing between the Radio Access Network and the Packet Data Network. Overview The continuing growth in wireless data and multimedia applications requires a scalable and high-bandwidth Base Site Controller platform to address these needs effectively. The IP-BSC-DO features a Standards-based architecture and modular design offering excellent scalability, high capacity and future readiness. In addition to combining the Base Site Controller with the Operations and Maintenance Controller functions, it allows for authentication of subscribers attempting to access the system and operator management of the IP-BSC- DO as well as Base Transceiver Subsystem cards attached to the IP- BSC-DO that provide EV-DO services. Benefits High Availability The platform delivers 5-Nines availability by leveraging upon hardware redundancy and its superior fault management software. This means that critical call processing functions continue to operate even if a failure occurs; key components all work in active/standby mode and support call preservation on failover. Low Total Cost of Ownership The IP-BSC-DO has been designed with low total cost of ownership in mind. Its compact size and scalable design reduce real-estate and power requirements and allow for straightforward connections between network components. This scalable platform also helps reduce OPEX, by improving the quality of operation with fewer BSCs and reduced support resources.
