Starter sheet on desks as students come in. Must decide what to do with 6 patients. Only 3 can stay in hospital. Idea is that students do not know what the lesson is going to be about. Will any suggest killing a patient? Think/Pair/Share.
Feedback given with no hands up. Key skill is students justifying their suggestions. (20mins)

Students examine the patients again and suggest which ones might consider euthanasia. Must explain why they think this. Option given to argue against euthanasia. Skill is justifying answers. (Think (3min)/Pair (4mins)/Share (2mins)) (10 mins)
