Every class has a class Committee consisting of
teachers of the concerned class, student
representatives and a chairperson who is not
teaching the particular class. The overall goal of
Committee is for improving upon the quality of
teaching - learning process. The functions of the
class committee include:
Resolving Problems experienced by students
and faculty in the classroom and in the
laboratories/Library.
Clarifying the regulations of the degree
programme and the details of rules therein.
Informing the student representatives the
academic schedule, including the dates of
assessments and the syllabus coverage for each
assessment.
Informing the Student representatives the
details of Regulations regarding weightage used
for each assessment. In the case of practical
courses (laboratory /drawing / project work /
seminar etc.) the breakup of marks for each
experiment / exercise / module of work, should
be clearly discussed in the class committee
meeting and informed to the students.
Confidence building and personality
development including dress code, conduct and
healthy practices.
Analyzing the performance of the students of
the class after each test, finding the ways and
means of solving problems, if any.
Identifying the weak students, if any, and
requesting the teachers concerned to provide
additional help or guidance or coaching to such
weak students.
Identifying potential rank holders and
encouraging / supporting them for
accomplishing the goals of students / college for
maximum university ranks.
Ensure 100% in all examinations with
distinction.
Faculty Counsellor:
One faculty member counsels 20
students, and he / she keeps track of the
students' academics, attendance; sorts out
problems; sends periodic reports to parents and
apprises the Principal and the Head of the
Department about the progress of the students.
Students are free to approach the Faculty
Counselor without inhibition about academics,
administration, career and personal matters.
The teacher monitors the same set of students
year after year to realize overall progress at the
end of the course.
Mechanism/Norms &
Procedure for
democratic/good Governance
Generally, hierarchy is maintained in
dealing with issues i.e. counselor- class
coordinatorHODDiscipline and Welfare
committee. In specific cases, the student is
referred to the Vice-Principal. In extreme cases
the students approach the Principal / Director
and redress their grievance. In addition
grievance register is maintained and Issues get
reported / resolved on day to day basis.

Suggestion Boxes are provided in every
building and grievance records placed at
vantage points in the college (including the

addition, there is Complaint cum Redressal
Committee (as below), to whom they can
contact and inform of their Grievances. Besides
there is an exclusive mechanism to address the
issues relating to women and their Grievances.
