TENDER NOTICE FOR INVITATION OF BIDS

On behalf of the Chairman, U.P.Jal Nigam, Superintending Engineer, IVth Circle, U.P.Jal Nigam,
Bareilly invites application for the pre qualification of competent contractors with sound technical and
financial capabilities under National competitive bidding for “Design, supply of materials and construction of
80 mld sewage treatment plant based on UASB technology at Sarai Talfi, Near Shamsham Bhoomi, Bareilly
under UIDSSMT Programme.
The scope of work under this contract includes Design, Supply of all materials and machineries,
erection and construction of treatment units, its necessary interconnection and all other works what soever
necessary for 80 MLD sewage treatment plant based on UASB technology at existing site at Sarai Talfi,
Bareilly to bring down the TSS, BOD & Faecal coliform level of treated sewage to be discharged in River
upto prescribed standard of CPHEEO, New Delhi. The works including installation, testing and successful
commissioning of STP complete and including 2 years of operation and maintenance of the Project under
UIDSSMT Programme.
The bids for the project will be on a TURNKEY basis with a lump sum fixed price contract. After
commissioning the contractor shall operate, maintenance and monitor the plant, their after for trial run and
stabilization period of minimum 8 months to prove that the plant is capable of operating at the stipulated
performance standards and efficiency. After proper stabilization to prove the sustainability of its performance
as per performance guarantee given in the bid all the works shall be handed over to the Nagar Nigam,
Bareilly by the contractor/firm.

Terms & Conditions:-
1- Only registered contractors in U.P.Jal Nigam in class “A” either in Sewerage Works” or Turnkey Projects(
Sewerage) category shall be eligible to participate in tendering. The contractor who is not registered in
U.P.Jal Nigam but has expertise in particular works may also obtain “Tender Document” provided that he
gets himself registered in U.P. Jal Nigam is respective category before the date of opening of financial bid.
2. Bidding is open to independent contractors/contracting firms (or their voluntarily formed joint ventures)
registered with U.P. Jal Nigam in Class-A for category 7 or 8(b). In cases of prequalification bids, the
selected bidders will have to get themselves registered with Jal Nigam otherwise they will not be allowed to
participate in financial biddings.
3. Intending applicants may obtain the pre-qualification / bidding documents from 18.05.2009 to 26.05.2009
during office hours by calling in person or writing to the following offices:-
i). Executive Engineer, VI Division, U.P .Jal Nigam, Gandhi Nagar, Bareilly.- 243122
ii) Executive Engineer, Construction Division, U.P.Jal Nigam, Pilibhit /Shahjahanpur.

v). District Magistrate, Bareilly.
by submitting non-refundable fees of Rs. 20000/- + U.P.Trade Tax (at present 12%) + postage charges Rs.
500/- (if documents demanded by post) bydemand draft issued by any Nationalized or Scheduled Bank
drawn in favour of “ EXECUTIVE ENGINEER, VIth DIVISION, U.P. JAL NIGAM, BAREILLY” payable at
BAREILLY. The requisite eligibility/qualification criteria, etc. may be seen in any of the above mentioned Jal
Nigam offices.
4. U.P. Jal Nigam will promptly dispatch the bidding documents by speed post / registered mail, but under no
circumstances it will be held responsible for late delivery or loss of the documents so mailed.
5. A pre-bid meeting will be held by the undersigned at above noted date & time in the office of the Chief
Engineer (L.Z.),U.P.Jal Nigam, Lucknow to clarify queries of the prospective bidders.
6. The bids accompanied with requisite earnest money (For 180 days i.e. validity period of tender) in the
shape of NSC/CDR/FDR of any Nationalized Bank pledged in the name of Executive Engineer, Sixth
Division, U.P.Jal Nigam, Bareilly and other documents must be received in sealed envelopes in any of the
offices mentioned in Para -2 above latest by the date & time mentioned above.
7. The prequalification application of bid shall be opened on above mentioned date & time in the office of
Superintending Engineer, IVth Circle,U.P.Jal Nigam BAREILLY in presence of bidders or their authorized
representatives.
8. The U.P. Jal Nigam reserves the right to accept or reject any or all the applications without assigning any
reason, thereof.
