I am writing in response to a job opening recently posted on the ABC Hospital employment
opportunities web site for new nursing graduates. I have recently graduated from the University
of South Florida of Nursing with a BSN. It is with great joy that I present my resume to you to
find a position that will meet the needs of this position.

Throughout the 2 years of my clinical experience, I have had the opportunity to work in
numerous settings, including Medical-surgical, Intensive Care Unit, Oncology, Neurology,
Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Psychiatric and Emergency Care. With these involvement, I was able to
develop and practice skills that will better prepare me for challenges of nursing. For my final
preceptorship at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, I decided to work on a Cardiac Medical Surgical
Floor. Interning on this particular unit, I was able to gain the basic knowledge of many disease
processes, plan of care and treatment for these patients. Also on this floor, I developed a Quality
Improvement project that concentrated on increasing the HCAPPS score on medication
education, in which will help this unit receive reimbursement for their qualitative care.

In addition to my nursing skills, I have also gained characteristics such as being detailed
orientated, a better communicator, critical thinker and a leader. With these qualities, not only am
I able to make wise decision under pressure, but also be influential to my patients and future co-
workers.
