Women.

Those in possession with a magnanimous heart, full of love for the ones they care about, the
ones in possession of the faint smile every man gets cheered up by, and the ones who are the sole
reason for every mans existence. Yet, we dont respect them enough.
To every man reading this right now, think about when youve been rude to your mother and she hid
her emotions, she hid her pain and hid her feelings just to make you feel better.
And to every woman reading this as well, why did you lie then?
Women have been treated like the underdogs, under estimating their capabilities, on the basis of the
clichd manly excuse We dont want emotional decisions!. They have been victims to a lot of criminal
activities; and they have suffered humiliation in society for bearing the girl child in some cases. They
have been held by the waist against their will just to show that they are incapable of fighting a strong
man, that they are incapable of even raising their voices against them. But to what extent should this be
tolerated? To what extent should this be just let gone of? Im praying the answer to that question in all
of your hearts is a No longer!.
However, the real problem is with the women themselves. They never came forward or raised their
voices against the criminals, sometimes, who were members of the same family. They kept quiet, they
tolerated, they adjusted like India is famous for. Just why do you have cover up for a man who will not
treat you equally or hit you, why will you cover for a man who treats you badly? Think of an answer to
the why question and if you succeed in finding a logical explanation to it, keep suffering or wake up,
realize your worth and get what you deserve.
Rapists get away because of the people who have witnessed a crime do not wish to get in the trouble of
a court case, which is even more shocking because such is the impression of our judicial system on our
very own people. So how does a country which has degraded its reputation in its own peoples eyes
rise? The answer was a dialogue said in the movie Rang De Basanti, Koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota..
Usse perfect banana padta hai. So now that we know were at fault, what can we do?
Let me tell you what I think:
I often try to figure out the reason for the unequal treatment of women. And there is no reason till date
that has made any sense, personally. There have been many instances of grave violence against women,
sexual abuse and sometimes eve teasing to state the most common of all cases of abuse against women
but other than just a few, all others went unnoticed. I ask myself, how low can we fall? Just how much
further below expectations? Women are our mothers, our sisters, our friends, our girlfriends, our wives,
our colleagues, our bosses and there is nothing that they are incapable of doing and we all know that
because they have touched the moon, ruled empires and been the CEO's.
Is it really that difficult for everyone to just respect them, and treat them as being at par with all men? Is
it really difficult to solve our domestic problems by acting civilized and being polite or is hitting our wives
and girlfriends the only solution? Is it really that difficult for the men to keep their desires in check or do
we really have to force ourselves on strange innocent women? If you are a man, and if the answer to the
question(s) is negative, then all the men are requested to shift the stuff they do to their wives or
girlfriends or strangers to the various illegal places available in cities across the country that people
know as red light districts. If that fails, well, you truly are hopeless.
Imagine women, like theyre human, not objects. If you think of them as objects, think of that for your
own women first.
Hoping for a better India with each passing day and Im hoping to empower our women.
