ADMISSION NOTICE

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA COURSE (PGDC) IN THERMAL POWER PLANT ENGINEERING (2014-15)
(Covers the Mandatory requirements under Indian Electricity Rules)

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN? The main aimof the course is to develop a pool
of technically trained manpower readily available f or recruitment to the Indian
Power Sector. Besides, the course shall enhance the knowledge and skills of
the Engineers sponsored by the Power Utilities etc.

ABOUT THE COURSE: This is a modular course of one-year duration. Formal
training is held at Regional Institutes of NPTI Located at 1. Badarpur (New Delhi)
2. Nangal (Punjab) 3. Neyveli (TN) 4. Durgapur (WB) 5. Guwahati (Assam) and
6. Nagpur (Maharashtra). On-job training is conducted at the nearby Thermal
Power Stations and on state-of -the-art Simulators at NPTI Faridabad/ Badarpur
/Nagpur. The course covers the syllabus as per Indian Electricity
Rules.

ELIGIBILITY: B.Tech / B.E. or its equivalent in Mechanical/ Electrical / Electrical
& Electronics / Power Engineering. Those appearing in their f inal year
examination can also apply. However, they must submit their final
degree/provisional degree certificate at the time of counseling.

SELECTION CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION: Merit based on Common Entrance
Test (CET) result f ollowed by counseling at NPTI Nagpur. CET will be held on
29th June 2014 (Sunday) at 8 cities; Faridabad, Badarpur (New Delhi), Nagpur,
Durgapur, Neyveli, Bangalore, Guwahati and Nangal.

AGE LIMIT: There is no age limit f or pursuing PGDC in TPPE

TOTAL SEATS: 510 . Reservation of seats f or SC/ ST/ OBC/ Physically
challenged as per Govt. of India norms. 25% seats are reserved f or candidates
sponsored f rom Power Utilities. The seat allocation of the Institutes is shown
below

Badarpur 120 Nangal 60 Neyveli 75
Durgapur 75 Guwahati 60 Nagpur -- 120

Total No. of seats may vary as per requirement. Vacant seats in sponsored
category will be f illed by non sponsored category and vice-versa if required.

To provide career opportunities in the Indian Power Sector, NPTI is maintaining

COURSE FEE: For non-sponsored candidates
Rs.2,10,000 + Service Tax @12.36% (in 3
installments). For candidates sponsored f rom
PSUs / Private Utilities Rs.3,25,000/- + Service
Tax @12.36% to be paid in lump sum at the time
of admission. There is no f ee concession f or any
category of candidates.

COURSE FEE FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS:
* SAARC Countries: US$ 13,000+ Service Tax

* Other Countries: US$ 15,000

In addition institute f ees like Hostel, Internet,
Caution deposit, transportation etc. is to be paid
by the participants.

LODGING/BOARDING: Hostel Facility is
available at all the institutes and provided on f irst
come f irst serve basis, subject to availability on
extra charges. Separate hostel f or girl
candidates.

On registration the hard copy of application and Demand Draf t should be sent
to The Principal Director, National Power Training Institute (WR), South
Ambazari Road, Gopal Nagar, Nagpur-440 022 latest by 12/05/2014. The
registration shall be conf irmed only af ter the receipt of the hard copy of
application with Demand Draf t.
