LA MISIN
El Centro de Idiomas Extranjeros de la UNACH, tiene como misin, potenciar el proceso de inter
aprendizaje de idiomas extranjeros y/o segundo idioma para contribuir con la formacin holstica
de los estudiantes y proyectar su accionar en el mbito personal, profesional y de la comunidad.

LA VISIN
El Centro de Idiomas de la UNACH ser lder en la enseanza de Idiomas Extranjeros,
comprometido con la formacin integral de profesionales que respondan a las exigencias del Plan
Nacional de Desarrollo y el Rgimen del Buen Vivir.

PERFIL DEL ESTUDIANTE AL HABER APROBADO LOS SEIS NIVELES DEL IDIOMA
Demuestra un manejo efectivo de las destrezas comunicativas de un idioma extranjero, y/o
segundo idioma como instrumento para su desarrollo personal, profesional, e investigativo.

OBJETIVO GENERAL DEL CENTRO DE IDIOMAS

Preparar a los estudiantes en el uso de idiomas extranjeros para comunicarse significativamente
con pensamiento crtico, en un contexto integral y real demostrando naturalidad y fluidez, de tal
forma que le permitan satisfacer necesidades personales y de su entorno con respeto y
proactividad.

LOGRO DE APRENDIZAJE
Al final del programa de estudios que comprende seis niveles, los estudiantes estarn en
capacidad de demostrar un manejo efectivo de las destrezas comunicativas en un idioma
extranjero y/o segundo idioma, para enfrentar en forma prctica las situaciones que el accionar
personal y profesional lo requiera con responsabilidad.

DESCRIPCIN DEL CURSO
El sexto nivel de ingls comprende ciento veinte horas acadmicas que corresponde a siete,
punto cinco crditos. Durante el desarrollo de los contenidos las cuatro destrezas del idioma se
practican en forma integral para lograr una adecuada comunicacin en temas variados de la
vida diaria e informacin especfica para cada carrera. En virtud de que es el ltimo nivel que
cursan los estudiantes en el idioma, ellos estn en capacidad de mantener una conversacin
sobre las distintas temticas, interpretar y analizar textos escritos y hablados. El poder
interactuar en el idioma objetivo se constituye en valiosa herramienta para que el estudiante
pueda utilizarlo y desenvolverse efectivamente en su vida cotidiana como en lo referente a su
carrera. En cuanto al eje transversal, el curso involucra la prctica de valores como el respeto a
la opinin, la colaboracin en el logro de tareas, la tica y la valoracin de las diferencias
culturales.

Se adquiere cuando el aprendiz es capaz de comprender los puntos principales de textos claros y en lengua
estndar si tratan sobre cuestiones que le son conocidas, ya sea en situaciones de trabajo, de estudio o de
ocio; cuando sabe desenvolverse en la mayor parte de las situaciones que pueden surgir durante un viaje
por zonas donde se utiliza la lengua; cuando es capaz de producir textos sencillos y coherentes sobre temas
que le son familiares o en los que tiene un inters personal y cuando puede describir experiencias,
acontecimientos, deseos y aspiraciones, as como justificar brevemente sus opiniones o explicar sus planes.

OBJETIVOS DEL CURSO

Conocer la idea principal de programas de radio y televisin que tratan sobre temas
actuales o asuntos de inters personal y profesional, cuando la articulacin es
relativamente lenta y clara.
Comprender textos redactados de manera sencilla en una lengua de uso personal,
habitual o laboral, as como la descripcin de acontecimientos, sentimientos y deseos.
Aplicar el idioma espontneamente en una conversacin que trate temas cotidianos de
inters personal. Elegir frases de forma sencilla para describir experiencias y hechos.
Analizar brevemente opiniones y proyectos. Narrar una historia, relato o la trama de un
libro. Escribir textos sencillos con ideas coherentes sobre temas conocidos o de inters
personal.
Investigar documentadamente los temas de inters propuestos para cada carrera.

CONTRIBUCIN DEL CURSO EN LA FORMACIN DEL PROFESIONAL.

La asignatura de Ingls VI aporta con la teora y prctica de las diferentes estructuras
gramaticales lo cual contribuye a fortalecer el perfil del futuro profesional consolidando
los conocimientos recibidos durante los ciclos anteriores proporcionando oportunidades
suficientes para el desarrollo de habilidades receptivas y productivas. Adems contribuye
a estrechar relaciones de compaerismo con responsabilidad, tica y mutua colaboracin
a travs de trabajos grupales donde se respeten diferencias culturales.

RELACIN DEL CURSO CON EL CRITERIO RESULTADO DE APRENDIZAJE.

La asignatura aporta para que el estudiante tenga una formacin crtica, basada en el
desarrollo de sus habilidades y destrezas para fortalecer el perfil del futuro profesional
contribuyendo a que el estudiante se comunique en forma natural y efectiva
interactuando en situaciones de la vida diaria de acuerdo a sus experiencias y sueos
futuros, leyendo y clasificando temas de inters personal y profesional. Redacta
adecuadamente descripciones y ensayos cortos, blogs, prrafos y formular preguntas.
Desarrolla estrategias de conversacin sobre diversas situaciones personales, de su
entorno. Investiga documentadamente sobre temas de la carrera.

METODOLOGA

En el desarrollo del proceso enseanza-aprendizaje se enfoca en un modelo eclctico en
donde se usa una variedad de mtodos y tcnicas para la consecucin del objetivo

CENTRO DE IDIOMAS

Aprendizaje cooperativo: promueve el aprendizaje y la consecucin de logros
promoviendo el desarrollo de habilidades de comunicacin oral a travs de
trabajos en parejas y en grupos, socializaciones y debates.
Enfoque funcional: la necesidad de comunicar ideas es el propsito fundamental
de aprender un idioma, para ello se expone al estudiante a situaciones reales de
la vida diaria personal y profesional que crean verdaderas oportunidades de
interaccin.
Enfoque natural: procura proveer un ambiente natural en el desarrollo del
proceso enseanza-aprendizaje, el estudiante adquiere habilidades
comunicativas paso a paso escuchando y entendiendo para luego pasar a la fase
de produccin.
Enfoque comunicativo: el proceso de enseanza enfatiza la interaccin usando
el idioma objetivo a travs de juegos, entrevistas, intercambios de informacin,
trabajo en parejas, brechas en la informacin.

RESULTADOS DEL APRENDIZAJE

El 60% de los estudiantes es capaz de:
Incorporar a su conocimiento informacin actual referente a los asuntos de inters
personal o profesional proveniente de diversas fuentes analizando el contenido e
identificando ideas principales y secundarias.
Mostrar inters por la lectura en temas cotidianos y/o relacionados con su
profesin mediante el conocimiento de la informacin relevante al texto.
Mostrar respeto por las opiniones e ideologas de los dems a travs de las
conversaciones cotidianas de inters personal o profesional.
Mostrar originalidad, creatividad, y autenticidad en la produccin de una historia o
relato enlazando sus ideas con cohesin y coherencia sobre temas de inters
personal o profesional.
Manifestar responsabilidad en las tareas asignadas en el desarrollo de una
investigacin sobre un tema planteado.

I believe that second language acquisition in the classroom is best fostered in
positive affective conditions, where the atmosphere is nurturing yet
challenging and motivating. I believe that the classroom must provide input
and opportunities for interaction and student output.
My goal is to encourage thinking in rational ways, so that this can be applied
in other, unfamiliar situations.
