Im a Christian, and I do follow some of the truths set by the character Jesus, in that ancient
book called the Bible. I dislike the fable that has been adopted by many Christiansthat the
concept of some God being responsible is accurate. i sincerely doubt it, as any rational thinking
will reveal that there may have been up to a million different gods created by humans. So why is
it we are so adamant in continuing the strange rationalization that there actually is a real god?
And why are good Christians so convinced when all the factual data says otherwise? What is the
problem with being a Christian without the that highly unlikely god concept?
Please allow me to explain. The reality behind a factual god is very difficult to believe based on
what has been turning up as people become more worldly, and as science advances.
Anthropologists and religious scholars have identified 3,700 gods in RECORDED history. That
means they have manuscripts, stone tablets, artifacts in writing recording 3,700 different Gods.
It is generally agreed that true writing of language was invented by the ancient Sumerians of
Mesopotamia 3200 BCE. Additionally, concepts of different gods have been surmised as
somewhere between 62,000 (a reasonably verifiable number) to as many as a million different
gods throughout history. Any person not hypnotized by fears and promises their church and
their religion claims can comprehend what I am about to say.
If you still have the ability to be a logical person, it is not difficult to see how man is responsible
for the invention of religion. A million different gods? Or even 62,000 gods? Either figure creates
the highly logical premise that man creates gods in his own image, not the other way around.
Thus the possibility of the Christian god being even remotely factual is so remote as to be
laughable when people say they believe. The closer truth is that they are frightened and need
something to hang on to.
I agree. I do too. I need the concept of Jesus, but Im hardly so baffled by big religion that I am
blinded. The possibility of the Christian god being a reality is not just unlikely, it is virtually
impossible given the odds. Seriously, why not worship the Islamic god Allah, or any of the Greek
Gods. Why not Mithra, Jupiter, Thor, Odin, or any one of the many known gods. The reason we
dont is because most of us were born in the 20th or 21st century, and in America, or we
immigrated, and we feel the necessity to be like everyone else. As most in America are
Christians, what do we become, what do be want to believe? Obviously, Christianity. Thats how
we chose this godnot because we have ever thought about it, but because people blindly
accept!
Sad that that is so verifiable the world over. So what can be so wrong with finally understanding
that we are Christians because everyone else is, not because any one god stands a chance of
being real. Americans are no different than people everywhere. We follow like sheep. A few can
realize the reality in what my research has revealed, and we are ready to get real too and we hope
to keep Christian ideals without the Christian brainwashing a big money church likes to keep in
place because it continues to benefit them.
Like it or not we face a firm reality. Religion will someday die. Our history tells us that religions
dont last. People change, times change, and the fears of the world are altered by continuing
investigation by people who must pass very rigorous standards of proof to remain credible. In
this, the century of knowledge, technology, and information, we can see Christianity changing.
Do you realize that there are now 43,000 different denominations of Christianity? That is up
from 38,000 only three years ago. Dont believe me, look it up. I found it in the Christian
Ministries publication where they summed up the year end events.
That means even Christians cannot come to terms with what the Bible says. Easily understood as
there is something for every interpretation within those covers. Everything from the most horrid
acts imaginable, the hatred of women, making women subservient to men, mass killing of men,
women, children, burning living animals because god likes the smell. Its not just weird, but it
sends messages that websites and ministers dont reveal. Yes, it does include Yahweh, the very
nasty god-of-war from the old testament, which Jesus is reported as agreeing counts as much
as the new testament.

So where does this leave us Christians? Confused, separated, and obviously split in our belief
system.
My solution? Why dont we make an effort to get beyond the hypnotism that belief has created
and realize that the bible is ancient and not completely reliableand change it. The good words
of Jesus are all we need. Real or not, the bible has some valuable lessons for life. It gives us
something to hang on to, but hanging on to beliefs that were manufactured my ancient
frightened people is craziness. All that provides is a head filled with nonsense, blind beliefs, old
tales of superstition, and that brainwashing that the church has been providing for hundreds of
years making us think that supernatural beings exist while covering realities as I have provided.
Realities that are clear only to the atheists. Why cant those of us who are intelligent Christians
see those and not lose faith in the good a fictional character brought in a fictional bookand
remain good Christians regardless of the truth?
I certainly intend to. Christianity has so much good without the fables I am ready to adopt to the
new Christian System and quit saying beliefs as that implies a faith in what is clearly
impossible. That makes me feel complete. That gives me reality to hang onto. That makes me
feel like I belong, and that is good.
Its certainly time for those of who can still be rational to prove it and stand for a really united
Christianity. No beliefs, just facts and goodness. Christians using selected words of Jesus (as a
fictional character) and vowing to follow the creed of reality, not the questionable act of always
having to cherry-pick the bible.
Its time for cherry-picking to end for us.
I am a retired behavioral scientist, a former Christian minister, and I finally broke free of the
churches greed driven needs to have my head soaked in things unreal and fears that keep me
tithing heavily. I refuse to follow the demands of big religion as I know it to be a money driven
organization, not a spiritual uplifting. We can get that from the New Christen System by sharing
that goodness when others display an interest. This demand to spread our religion was
something needed to make a big, powerful tribe in days long past when the world held many
dangers. That is not at all the same today, and Christians demanding other share the idiocy we
have been told to accept as fact will soon come to an end. My preference is to give Christianity a
new beginningthis time based in fact.
Thank you.
Please consider this.
