INDICATOR OF CORRECT DETERGENT AMOUNT
The washer weighs the laundry without any water, determines the water level
needed, and indicates the approximate amount of detergent.
This indication shows
a detergent amount
necessary for 58
liters of water.
before starting washing, the washer does not weigh the laundry and uses the water level you have selected.
The detergent amount is indicated based on the spoon that is usually included with a pack of concentrated synthetic detergent
powder (one full spoon of detergent is 27g).
For detergent amount to be put into the tub, always follow the instructions about applicable detergent amount to water amount
indicated on the detergent package since it may greatly vary depending on the type of detergent. For details of water amount,
see section, Use of Detergent and Finish Agents. 17

CAUTION
In the HEAVY course, the water level is set to the high level.
If the laundry volume is small (2.0 kg or less), you should lower the
water level appropriately, otherwise water may splash out if the
water flows too strongly.

Strictly observe the standard detergent amount. If too much detergent is used, bubbles may overflow and stick to electrical
parts, causing the washer to malfunction.
For detergent amount to be put into the tub, always follow the instructions about applicable detergent amount to water
amount indicated on the detergent package since it may greatly vary depending on the type of detergent.
Always use the proper detergent indicated on the labels of clothes.
In the QUICK course, decide the detergent amount while referring to the approximate amount of detergent indication, and do
not refer to the water amount and detergent volume shown in the above table when you are using the QUICK course.

WATER
LEVEL
Since soap powder remains easily on the laundry as compared to synthetic detergent, carry out
sufficient rinsing. Otherwise, it may be the cause of yellowish tinge or soapy smell.
Read the direction for use (how to dissolve treat etc.) of soap powder carefully.
If soap powder is used in an excessive volume or put directly into low-temperature water,
incompletely dissolved powder remains beneath the pulsator and it may come up to soil the
laundry.

Warning
Do not install your washer in the bathroom or outdoors as exposed to sun or rain.
Avoid installing where fear of accident, fire, trouble, etc. may occur.
as well as direct sunlight which may deform the plastics.
The washer must be installed so that its bottom opening will be not obstructed by the
carpeted floor.
Attention to dew condensation
In summer season when the difference between the water temperature and the atmospheric temperature is large, the washer
outside surface of the washer may sweat and make the floor wet.
Prevent Freezing
For prevention of freezing

25
REASON
The washer stops for 10 sec. to supply water and detect the cloth type.
The washer intermittently rotates at the beginning of spindrying (does not rotate at high speed immediately).
This sound can be heard at the beginning of spindrying depending on the type of laundry and whether
it is piled up on one side in the tub. This is caused by
spin-dry water tapping the tub and is not a problem.
Depending on the outlet circuit used, the power voltage may drop
instantaneously when the motor is started. (If this occurs frequently, an
outlet circuit specially designed for the washer should be installed.)
26
Noise is produced.
Water is not supplied if the cover is open. Close the cover completely.
Check whether the water tap joint or fitting is loose. See page 22.
Check whether the water tap joint is inclined or is loose.
General Checklists
If your washer still fails after checking the following points, please contact your nearest
authorized Sharp Service Center.
(a) Is there electricity supply on the wall socket ? ( check by plugging another appliance e.g.
hair dryer, into it ).
(b) Is the power plug correctly inserted into the wall socket ?
(c) Is the water tap turned on ?
(d) Did you press the POWER switch to ON ?
(e) Have you securely closed the top lid ?
(f) Is the water entering the tub ( check the filters seeing the above item )?
(g) Is the drain hose capable of draining the water from the tub ?
WARNING
If the power cord of this appliance is damaged, it must only be replaced by a Service
Center appointed by SHARP in order to avoid a hazard, because of the special
purpose tools required.
