Amendments Drivers Procedure Guide Policy

ALGN Transport reserves the right to amend, delete, or change any document, procedure and/or policy, at the sole
discretion of ALGN Transport, contained within this Driver Induction and Procedure Handbook.
ALGN Transport Management has the authority to enter into any agreements contrary to the terms of ALGN Transport
Driver Induction and Procedure Handbook; by means of written document signed by both directors.
Changes are effective as of the date of their occurrence as stipulated by the Directors of ALGN Transport.
All procedures contained within are to be used in conjunction with applicable standards, laws and regulations. All
reasonable effort has been made to ensure all information is current, true and correct.

ALGN Transport Pty Ltd voids all liabilities when actions are taken outside of this document.

Anti-Bullying Policy
ALGN Transport is committed to providing all Employees and Subcontractors with a healthy and safe work environment
free from bullying and/or harassment.
Bullying is repeated unreasonable behaviour directed towards an Employee or a group of Employees.
Examples of behaviour that could be classed as bullying or harassment include:
Excluding someone from workplace activities
Giving someone the majority of unpleasant tasks
Verbal abuse
Humiliating someone through sarcasm or insults
Intimidation
Sexual harassment
Other similar behaviour

ALGN Transport expects all Employees and Subcontractors to behave in a professional manner and to treat each other
with dignity and respect when they are at work.
We encourage any Employees and Subcontractors who experience bullying to report it to Management.
If bullying is reported it will be regarded as a serious matter and will be investigated in a timely manner. Where
necessary, a formal investigation will be undertaken and disciplinary action may result
Management of ALGN Transport have a responsibility to ensure Employees & Subcontractors are not bullied.

Anti-Discrimination Policy
ALGN Transport has a policy of anti-discrimination and equal
opportunity and will not allow any Employee and Subcontractor to discriminate or harass any other Employee and
Subcontractor employed by or involved with ALGN Transport on any basis as set out in the Equal Opportunity Act 1995
and the Racial and Religious Intolerance Act 2000.

Damage to Equipment Policy
In the event of damage to plant and/or equipment on the arrival of ALGN Transport staff, they are required to take
photographs before loading the unit on the trailer and/or towball.
All damage must be immediately reported to both Management of ALGN Transport and the designated customer
authority. The ALGN Transports Hazard/Near Miss Report must be completed onsite before shifting unit and given to
the designated customer authority
If the integrity of the unit is questionable, a tilt-tray service must be utilised to avoid health and safety concerns to our
Drivers, the Public and further damaging the plant and/or equipment.

Driver Fatigue Management Policy
Driver fatigue is a serious safety issue, particularly when drivers are operating on the roads for long hours or overnight.
ALGN Transport follows WorkSafe guidelines when dispersing jobs to Employees and Subcontractors and:
Gives 24 hours notice for the driver to prepare for a long working period (12 hours or more)
Minimises very early departures and night driving where possible;
Insists that drivers are not to be impaired by alcohol or drug use - drivers should be 0.00 BAC at all time when
driving and working for ALGN Transport and never be under the influence of drugs.

The chances of workplace injuries occurring is increased by driver fatigue
Fatigue affects the individuals performance and productivity, and the safety of the workplace becomes compromised.
The factors that contribute to fatigue are:
Environmental and lifestyle conditions
The mental and physical demands of work
Work scheduling and planning

Working hours, and;
Individual factors (such as prior health
conditions)

At ALGN Transport we understand how these factors, along with elements of our operational design can be improved to
reduce the risk of fatigue in the workplace and we ask our Employees and Subcontractors to take due care in their

Driver Operating Plant & Machinery Policy
ALGN Transport does not authorise any of its Employees or Subcontractors to operate plant, machinery and equipment
without first consent from the Management of ALGN Transport, and the designated Customer Representative.
If Employees or Subcontractors are requested to operate the following list of plant, equipment or machinery, they must
have the correct training and current licenses reflecting competency of:
Compressors
Excavators
Fork trucks
Generators
Pumps
Rollers
Scaffold Erecting or Dismantling

Drug and Alcohol Policy
The consumption, possession or sale of alcohol by an Employees or Subcontractor of ALGN Transport is strictly
prohibited while working.

The use, possession or sale of illegal drugs by an Employees or Subcontractor of ALGN Transport is prohibited at all
times.

Any person under the influence of alcohol and drugs should not attend the workplace or attempt to operate any plant
owned by ALGN Transport. If such a situation does occur then the person will be required to leave the workplace.

ALGN Transport is committed to assisting any Employees who request counselling or other assistance involving the use
of drugs and alcohol.

If any person has a medical condition or is taking any legally prescribed medication that might either affect their
performance, or lead to placing themselves or others in an unsafe situation, they should advise their supervisor and
qualified first aid officer of their condition. This information will be treated with the strictest of confidence.

Environmental Policy
ALGN Transport it committed to minimising our environmental footprint and is soon to implement targets aimed at
minimising our carbon emissions. ALGN Transports Management are working with Employees and Subcontractors and
other stakeholders to reduce our environmental impact
ALGN Transport acknowledges that with pollution prevention practices our operations can allow us to be a role model for
larger companies.
All Employees and Subcontractors of ALGN Transport are expected to consider the impact of their daily operations in
their own context and set achievable environmentally sustainable targets.
ALGN Transport operates with due regard for the applicable environmental regulations, legislation and guidelines and
continue our environmental responsibilities.

First Aid Policy
ALGN Transport has a responsibility to protect the health and safety of each Employee and Subcontractor at all times
during their work day.
ALGN Transport provide all Employees and Subcontractors with appropriate and adequate first aid supplies.
All Employees and Subcontractors must at all times possess a first aid kit suitable for the operations of our business. We
endeavour to collaborate with educators and professionals to continually update our knowledge and resources
concerning First Aid.
ALGN Transports First Aid Policy is reviewed on a biannually basis and when OH&S regulations differ.

Health and Safety Policy Statement
This policy recognises that ALGN Transport Pty. Ltd. is responsible for the health and safety of all Employees and
Subcontractors when working under our direction. In fulfilling this responsibility, ALGN Transport has a duty to provide
and maintain a working environment that is safe and without health risks as set out in the Occupational Health & Safety
Act (2004).

To meet the objectives of this policy, Management are committed to regular consultation with Employees and
Subcontractors to ensure that health and safety issues are regularly reviewed. ALGN Transport Management also
recognises that health and safety implementation is most effective when a joint Management/Employee/Subcontractor
approach is used to identify and solve health and safety issues.

ALGN Transport Management
Is responsible for and accepts ultimate responsibility for the effective implementation of this policy
Will fulfil its responsibilities under all applicable legislation, codes of practice and industry guidelines
Will provide appropriate information, instruction and training for all Employees and Subcontractors
Will provide appropriate supervision to ensure that all safe work procedures are implemented
Will make regular assessments of health and safety performance and resources
Will fulfil its injury Management, rehabilitation responsibilities and back to work initiatives

Employees & Subcontractors
Have a duty to take care of their own health and safety and the health and safety of others affected by their actions
at work
Will comply with all safety procedures and lawful directions issued by Management representatives
Will not intentionally interfere with or misuse items provided in the interest of health and safety

The policy will be regularly reviewed in the light of changes in the workplace and changes in legislation. Management will
at all times consult with and seek co-operation from all Employees and Subcontractors to enable ALGN Transport to
realise its health and safety objectives and to create a safe working environment.

Implementing Traffic Management Policy
All works involving Traffic Management must be undertaken by competent and licensed individuals, trained in the field of
Implementing Traffic Management Plans.
ALGN Transport does not authorise its drivers to implement or utilise any form of signage, stop/go bat, bollards or traffic
safety cones onto any form of roadway, without obtaining the appropriate traffic management and hazard awareness
training.
As part of ALGN Transports dedication to staff development, ALGN Transport and business partners, are developing
programs to provide additional training and career opportunities to our drivers specifically in Implementing Traffic
Management.

Manual Handling Policy
All Manual Handling must first be planned in an effort to reduce the potential of strains and sprains.
Any area in which ALGN Transport Employees and Subcontractors are manually unloading or loading, must be kept
clean and free from obstacles
When possible, Manual Handling is to be replaced by mechanical means. Whether this mean using a crane, a fork truck
or a tailgate loader to decrease the impact that lifting heavier loads does to your health and wellbeing
Where mechanical means cannot be used then:
Only light loads to be carried by hand;
Split materials into lighter loads;
Use team lifting to lift materials;
Use 2 or more workers to move/carry loads
over 20 kg;
Keep duration of handling short;
Handle loads evenly;
Carry loads close to the body;
Avoid bending your back or twisting when
lifting;

Bend your knees and keep your back straight
when lifting;
Use your legs to lift the load not your back
Ensure a clear unobstructed pathway & work
area is prepared;
Ensure the work area is not slippery, the area is
clear & lighting is sufficient; and
Ensure object is easy to grasp, not slippery &
free from sharp edges

Mobile Phones & Headset Policy

ALGN Transport Pty. Ltd. policy is designed to decrease the level of risk associated with driver distractions - especially
when operating plant, equipment and/or machinery.

ALGN Transport strictly forbids the use of Mobile Phones or Headsets whilst Employees or Subcontractors are
operating plant, equipment and/or machinery.

In certain scenarios, devices such as Mobile Phones & their associated Headset can cause full isolation of the user to
external noises, which may be needed to be heard in order to work safely.

ALGN Transport Management is committed to continually informing Employees and Subcontractors of their legal
obligations to identify, assess and control hazards in the workplace.

Rehabilitation Policy
ALGN Transport is committed to ensure, as far as is practicable, that all Employees and Subcontractors are safe from
injury and risk to their health whilst at work.
Should any Employee be injured at work, Management is committed to providing an appropriate rehabilitation plan
aimed at returning the Employee to their pre-injury duties as soon as the Employee is approved by a medical physician
to do so.
If an Employee cannot return to their pre-injury duties every effort will be made to place the person in another position
appropriate to their capabilities.
To achieve this aim, ALGN Transport is committed to providing a return to work co-ordinator who will work with the
person and the person's medical advisors to prepare an appropriate return to work plan which may include changes to
the workplace or work procedures in order to facilitate the Employee. In return the Employee is required to participate in
any agreed return to work plan.

Safe Work Methods Policy
ALGN Transports Management is constantly discussing with all Employees and Subcontractors the constant hazards
and risks they may run into in their daily work. ALGN Transport recognises that hazards and risks must be discussed
and, where appropriate, control measures be initiated.

In our operations, we aim to isolate hazards and eliminate risks to health and safety by changing the way in which our
work is done. By involving all Employees and Subcontractors in discussions, the implementing of processes can be
highly integrative and of greater potential use.

Safe Work Method Statements are supplied for all plant, equipment & machinery used by Employees and
Subcontractors. Before, during and after Major Projects and Ongoing Contracts, these Safe Work Method Statements
are reassessed and put into context for the nature of the work.

Team members involved are briefed before commencement and understand the scope and constraints of the work and
its associated risk to their health and safety.

ALGN Transport is dedicated to providing appropriate personal protective equipment to its Employees and
Subcontractors and is committed to facilitating a safe work environment.

Severe Weather Policy
ALGN Transport Pty. Ltd. make every effort to minimise working hours during inclement weather as the issue of safety
take top priority and supersede all written and verbal agreements with third parties, without exception.
If operating a vehicle in inclement weather, this means:
REDUCING speed limit whilst operating a vehicle - especially whilst manoeuvring around corners, sharp bends,
dog-legs etc.

Plant manufacturer procedures MUST be observed. This is essential to driving in the wet on slippery roads
and/or during high winds

Allowances are made on the Estimated Time of Arrival (ETAs) as to facilitate the safest trip for ALGN Transport
drivers, ALGN Customers and the general public

All road rules, laws and passage agreements will be conducted in the SAFEST possible manner on the road and
on site
