Information necessary to service the system safely is included in the SRS and SB section of this Service Manual. ACCELERATOR CONTROL SYSTEM (KA24DE) ACC-3 C D E F G H I J K L M A ACC ACCELERATOR CONTROL SYSTEM (KA24DE) PFP:00001 Removal and Installation EBS009PC REMOVAL CAUTION: When removing accelerator wire, make a mark to indicate lock nut's initial position. 1. Remove RH front seat. Refer to SE-3, "FRONT SEAT" . 2. Remove engine room RH cover. Refer to EM-12, "ENGINE ROOM COVER" . 3. Loosen accelerator cable lock nut at throttle body, and disconnect accelerator cable at throttle drum. 4. Disconnect accelerator cable at accelerator pedal and bracket. 5. Remove accelerator cable. 6. Remove accelerator pedal and bracket assembly. 7. Remove accelerator pedal from accelerator pedal bracket. INSTALLATION G Install in reverse order of removal, paying attention to the points below. CAUTION: G Be careful not to damage or twist accelerator cable core. G When assembling, always apply oil to each part, except to inside of cable. G Check if accelerator pedal is free from contact with other parts, and releases smoothly. ADJUSTING ACCELERATOR WIRE CAUTION: Adjust accelerator cable wire when engine is warmed up and throttle valve is fully closed. G With loosened accelerator cable wire, pull outer case toward accelerator pedal by adjusting nut. From position where throttle drum starts moving (play is 0), turn back adjusting nut 1.5 to 2.0 turns. Then tighten lock nut. CAUTION: When tightening lock nuts, hold adjusting nut with open-end wrench.
