Using Multi-Sensory Approaches To Support Learning
1.0 INTRODUCTION 1.1 Background language learning is dull and tedious - pupils always seems uninterested and demotivated to learn the language to examine how does the use of multi-sensory approaches are able to support and enhance learners' learning experiences 1.2 Reflection of past teaching experience learners experiencing immense difficulties in learning- displayed boredom, become restless or fell asleep during instructions pupils were not motivated to learn and lack focus and concentration 2.0 WHAT IS MY FOCUS OF INVESTIGATION? 2.1 What is my research issue? preliminary interview and document analysis from the class teacher - some learners are lack of motivation and lack of focus and concentration affecting their performance in testing and assessment - do not show improvement 2.2 What have I learnt about my research issue? Cambridge dictionary online, multi: having many, sensory: connected with the physical touch, smell, taste, hearing and sight. thus, multi-sensory; engage all three modalities simultaneously, providing multiple pathways to the brain using this type of approach will motivate the learners in language learning because it is fun and interesting however, I expect that the classroom management will be a bit difficult to control. 3.0 WHAT IS/ ARE MY RESEARCH QUESTION/S? will the objective of the learning improve with the use of the approaches? what are the learners' responses towards the approaches? how does the use of multi-sensory approaches are able to enhance and improve learning? 4.0 WHO ARE MY RESEARCH PARTICIPANTS? pupils who shows a slow improvement in language learning from document analysis and teacher's interview (5 pupils) Fahimah binti Fuazi (Tesl 5)
