This research will be focus on fashion study. According to Colin McDowell, fashion is
moving faster over time. Fashion impacted the lifestyle at every stage of life including social
conditions, politics, and culture of a place. The term of fashion is being described as a
popular style or practice especially in clothing and footwear. Malaysia as a multi-cultural
country shows various ind of fashion. !t will vary depending on what is current in popular
culture and will be influenced by things such as music, film and art. Fashion is a part of our
everyday lives. Clothes reveal a person"s bacground or cultural group. #tyles give an insight
into the individual, but can also create stereotypes and distance between groups. Fashion
can often mae a statement. For e$ample the puns, moods, and e$istentialists, all had their
own distinct fashion sense. Acceptance or re%ection of a particular style is a reaction to the
society in which we live. Change is an important aspect of fashion. &efore, fashion is only a
need but now it becomes a wants for human.
'i%ab
The purpose of hi%ab is to cover the awrah and awrah varies in different situations and
amongst different groups of people. 'i%ab not only focus for veil or to cover the hair but the
real meaning are cover the entire body e$cept the face and the hands. 'i%ab is one form of
dress sanctioned by the religion of !slam to the Muslim. (hat does 'i%ab means) 'i%ab can
be defined as a woman wearing a head scarf, a veil cover the area of nec, chest and hair, a
loose outer garment that cover the body e$cept the hands and face. All these aspects
mentioned under the hi%ab of men apply to women as well. 'owever, the most fundamental
law of hi%ab for women is declared in the following declaration of Allah Ta*ala+ ,And you
women remain firmly within your homes- .#urah Ah/aab+001. Thus a woman must remain
within her home and only emerge for that which the #yariah has allowed. !n order to
understand the concept of hi%ab in !slam, and its importance, the most important aspect is to
first and foremost rid the mind of (estern influences, indoctrination and propaganda. 2ne
should also not be affected by the personal whims and opinions of apologetic Muslims who
tal out of (estern influence rather than on the basis of correct nowledge of the 3ur*an and

their aurah properly) !t should not be translucent or tight. Tight clothes, even if they conceal

vivid images. The hi%ab is dynamic and not static, and it has changed in style because of
moderni/ation and westerni/ation. The ways style of hi%ab, should not attract the attention of
the opposite gender, thus it should not be e$travagant or e$cessively opulent. &y follow the
trend is there still follow the rule according to !slamic view)

To be in hi%ab is not a choice for !slam women out there. !t is compulsory for Muslim to
cover their aurah as mentioned in Al-3uran. !slam in fashion can be in one line but the
perception of people must be changed. !n !slam, it is not precluding woman to be fashionable
but to be fashionable, Muslim woman must follow the rule. Muslim women can still loo
fabulous, beautiful, attractive and comfortable even though they cover their awrah. !slam is
not limit the follower by %ust wearing a blac 5ubbah and must put on all fabric to cover all the
body, but it beyond that. !slam thought their follower to always respect others and be a good
person to others. All Muslim women must believe that the guidance is made not to bother but
to protect women. !n a nutshell, !slamic fashion has growing but the guidance must be a line
with the fashion so that Muslim woman still can be stylish and loo modern but not abandon
the teachings of 6od.
Conclusion
A reason why ! choose this topic it is because ! would lie to now people*s perception
towards Muslim women*s in latest fashion. 7owadays, mostly Muslim women are really
brave, they lie to try something new, something really attract public view, so from that ! also
would lie to now perception of Muslim women*s towards Muslim women*s in fashion attire if
they wearing still follow the !slamic rules. 2ther than that, sometimes Muslim women wearing
a hi%ab or close the awrah because of their family, friends, media or people surroundings.
They do not wearing a hi%ab because of command from Allah s.w.t.. #o ! would lie to
analysis the levels of understanding of Muslim women*s fashion allowed in !slamic rules.
8specially about the parts have to cover, and the awrah of the Muslim woman amongst
Muslim women.
