5orthern Ireland recognise the rapid de!elop#ent of technology and its
use &ithin security syste#s* This policy details the police response
&hich can be e.pected to an electronic security syste# &hich is
identified in the AC(O >:e,uire#ents for Security Syste# Ser!ices?*
2*2 To enable a security syste# to be recognised &ithin the AC(O
:e,uire#ents for Security Syste#s it #ust co#ply &ith the AC(O (olicy
on (olice :esponse to Security Syste#s and a recognised standard or
code of practice controlling #anufacture+ installation+ #aintenance and
operation* Such standards #ust be in the public do#ain and not be
product based*
2*4The installation and ser!ices pro!ided by the installing co#pany and an
Alar# :ecei!ing Centre -A:C0 / #onitoring / trac%ing centre -e*g* :/:C+
SOC0+ shall be certified by a @nited Aingdo# Accreditation Ser!ice

(olice Force to hold a list of policy co#pliant co#panies* Inclusion on
the list does not a#ount to confir#ation that the co#pany or its &or%
has been inspected by the (olice* Only co#panies so listed #ay install+
#aintain and/or #onitor Type A syste#s in the particular (olice area*
$here a co#pany loses police recognition under this policy+ its e.isting

2*4*2 Co#panies applying for inclusion on the abo!e list #ust do so using

@:5 #ay be sent by electronic #eans or post*
2*7*4 This &ill result in the issue of a @:5 &hich #ust be ,uoted in any

an A:C/:/:C &ithout a current police @:5 &ill be treated as a Type )
syste# and not recei!e a police response &ithout additional e!idence of
an offence in progress*

details of &ho# &ill be #aintained by the A:C/:/:C or through
arrange#ents &ith a central %eyholding ser!ice* Aeyholders shall be
trained to operate the alar#+ be contactable by telephone+ ha!e
ade,uate #eans of transport to attend the pre#ises at all hours+ shall
ha!e access to all rele!ant parts of the pre#ises and shall be able to
attend &ithin 20 #inutes of being notified* The #aintenance of
%eyholders records is the responsibility of the A:C/:/:C+ not the police*
Failure to co#ply &ith the abo!e instructions could result in the @:5
been suspended*

7.3 8ce the AR% operator has determied that the icidet does re,*ire a emer)ecy police
respose the AR% operator is to cotact the police )i!i) as m*ch iformatio abo*t the
icidet as possible icl*di) the loe wor(er details ad ay iformatio abo*t other
respoders dispatched to the icidet.
7.4 The AR% operator is to *pdate the police cotrol room o ay cha)es to the icidet or loe
wor(er locatio whilst the police are attedi) the icidet.
7.5 The AR% operator shall moitor the icidet *til iformed otherwise by the police.
