Empowering Youth through Skills to Succeed:
Partnership to Reach Marginalized Youth
Sponsored by Accenture

Project Description:
The Accentures Skills to Succeed initiative is intended to strengthen employment opportunities for 2,000 at-risk youth
aged 15-24, with a special focus on girls.

Together with youth, local NGOs, government and the private sector, Save the Children will deliver market-relevant
skill building opportunities, create mentoring relationships, internships and apprenticeships and expand placement
services that assist youth in finding a job or building a business.

The project will involve:
(1) Assessing job market conditions and needs
(2) Informing and Supporting Training activities - including helping poor students take certification exams; deliver
work readiness and life skills training to youth and deliver entrepreneurial training to graduates
(3) Building strong employment linkages including meeting with private sector and TESDA, providing linkages for
youth; supporting youth self-employment
(4) Advocating long-term change at private and public sector levels
This project in the Philippines has been implemented following similar objectives in other countries including Egypt
and Indonesia and will be using a common set of process and result indicators.

PROJECT OFFICER

Job Grade 5

1. To oversee delivery and implementation and monitoring and evaluation, in partnership with the Program
Coordinator and Community Mobilizer of Accenture partner communities
2. Sustain and enhance established partnerships accompanied duringthe first year of the project with the school
personnel, local government units and community organizations.
3. To scope for more possible partners, governmental and non-governmental , who can help strengthen and improve
Adolescent / Youth programs in partner communities as well as childrens/youth participation in the promotion of
learning and livelihood in the communities.
4. Assist Program Coordinator in partnership with the Community Mobilizer in monitoring, reviewing, refining,
validating, and conceptualizing strategies that have been used or will be used to achieve project deliverables and
detailed implementation plan.
5. To ensure that all activities are properly carried out and documented including prompt and timely
communications with partners and well-documented outputs and outcomes.
6. To assist in the technical outputs of the project, including preparation and production of reports in
accordance with the standards developed by the Programtechnical team with the help of the school and local
government units.
7. To ensure and support the Program Coordinator in the judicious and astute use and allocation of the project
budget without necessarily compromising the quality of the project deliverables and activities.



Requirements Common to several positions in Save the Children : Has a healthy sense of urgency; proactive and results-oriented. Prepared to travel
(estimated travel is 15%-20%in assigned region. Commitment to and understandingof child rights, the aims and principles of SC, humanitarian standards such as
